Is bespokeairsoft . co . uk actually a decent place to buy rifles from the UK?

So I’ve been renting guns at my local site for like 6 months, but last weekend one of the regulars let me try his upgraded M4 and now I’m obsessed with getting my own AEG instead of using the beat-up rentals.

I’m UK based, mostly playing woodland with the odd CQB day, budget is around £250-£300 for rifle + a couple mags, battery, etc. I’ve been bingeing YouTube and reading old threads here but I’m getting stuck between “buy once cry once” and “just grab a solid starter and upgrade later” - maybe I’m overthinking this.

While googling UK shops I ended up on bespokeairsoft . co . uk and they’ve got a ton of rifles listed, plus “beginners” recommendations and blog posts about top sellers and all that. On paper it looks decent, but that doesn’t say much about actual service, shipping times, lemon rates, how they handle returns, etc.

Anyone bought rifles from there recently? How were they out of the box, any issues with QC? And if you reckon I should avoid them, which UK sites would you trust for a first proper AEG?

Napoleon Solo at 10-1? How did everyone miss that?

Okay so I was looking at the Preakness results from yesterday and Napoleon Solo won at 10-1 odds, paying $17.80 to win . That's a massive price for a horse that won the Champagne Stakes as a 2-year-old by 6 lengths . I know he struggled earlier this year and missed the Derby, but still. The favorite Taj Mahal faded hard and finished 10th after setting those fast fractions . The time was 1:58.69 which isn't blazing but the track at Laurel might have been slow .

What's wild is trainer Chad Summers had never even started a horse in a Triple Crown race before this . First timer wins the Preakness. And Golden Tempo (the Derby winner) skipped it because of the short turnaround . So no Triple Crown threat this year. Napoleon Solo paid $17.80, Iron Honor was second at $9.20 to place, Chip Honcho third at $8.20 to show . Anyone else cash a ticket on the gray colt? I had Taj Mahal and I'm still sick about it.

Indian Open of Surfing starts May 29 in Mangaluru. Apparently we have actual surfers now?

The 7th edition of the NMPA Indian Open of Surfing is happening from May 29 to 31 at Tannirbhavi Blue Flag Beach in Mangaluru . I had no idea India even had a surfing scene but apparently it's one of the fastest-growing sports in coastal regions. This year's event is especially important because surfing will debut at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026, and this championship is a key qualifier . Surfers can earn ranking points to strengthen their claims for Asian Games spots. There are categories for open men's, open women's, under-18, and even under-14 groms (which I think means young kids).

Satwik-Chirag in another final. These guys are genuinely world class.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty just beat Malaysia's Sze Fei Goh and Nur Izzuddin in the Thailand Open semifinal—19-21, 22-20, 21-16 . That's a serious comeback after dropping the first set. They're playing Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin from Indonesia in the final . I don't care if they win or lose at this point. The fact that they're consistently making Super 500 finals and semifinals proves they belong at the top of world badminton. Remember when we used to celebrate just qualifying for quarterfinals? These guys have changed the standard.

Okay but seriously how did SGA only shoot 7-for-23 the same night he got his MVP trophy

I know the Thunder lost in double
OT to the Spurs and SGA still had 24 points and 12 assists but man. 7-for-23 is rough. I saw a stat that said it was his worst first half in like three years—1-for-5, only 4 points before halftime.
You just got handed your second straight MVP trophy in front of your home crowd and you put up that shooting line? Not a great look. Wemby went for 41 and 24 rebounds without De'Aaron Fox even playing . Dylan Harper started in Fox's place and dropped 24 points with 7 steals as a rookie. That's insane.

Did WCW cruiserweights influence modern wrestling more than we admit?

I watched some old Nitro cruiserweight matches again recently and the style still feels modern. Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Juventud, and Ultimo Dragon were doing things on weekly TV in the 90s that American audiences weren't really used to seeing back then.
The weird part is most cruiserweights still felt treated like the undercard compared to the heavyweights. Looking back now, do you think that division had a bigger influence on modern wrestling than a lot of the actual WCW main event scene?

Spurs just did something only 6 other teams in NBA history have pulled off

I'm still processing last night. The Thunder came into this WCF as 64-win defending champs riding a 9-game playoff win streak, and the Spurs stole Game 1 in double OT on their floor. That's not supposed to happen. But here's what stood out when I checked the history books this morning: we're watching only the 7th playoff series ever where both teams won 62+ games (or equivalent winning percentage). The last time that happened was the 1998 Finals between Chicago and Utah. Before that, you've got 1987 Lakers-Celtics, 1985 Lakers-Celtics, and the 1970 Knicks-Lakers Finals. That's it.

Wemby went for 41 points and 24 rebounds with Fox out, while SGA shot 7-for-23 right after getting handed his second MVP trophy. I don't care what era you grew up watching—that's the kind of heavyweight fight people have been begging for. Reminds me of Hakeem vs Robinson in the mid-90s, except this time both guys are actually in their primes at the same time. Does this series already feel like an all-timer to you, or am I getting carried away after one game?
