Maximum vs SIC

So, I preferred using the SIC before I found this since 99% of the time I fire single shot. I have since switched to Maximum since its stats look better to me. I found that damage is slightly higher for Maximum and its only about .1 KG heavier when upgraded. Also, I believe the base SVU has higher penetration than the SIC, so I'm wondering what y'all have found to be all around better.

Im almost surprised

This is the best spark plug I had compared to a new AC Delco 41-121 spark plug. Im surprised this thing ran with almost no issues, being that most of the electrode is gone. Was replacing spark plugs as part of 150k mile service

*sigh*

2012 low oil pressure solved

I posted a few days ago about a low oil pressure message at idle, with about a 15 psi reading on my mechanical gauge. Well, today I found the issue and fixed it.

Did an oil change for the first time since owning it, and upon removing the filter housing and taking a good look in there, I found a spring that was just sitting there. Im guessing the guy who had it before me took it to Walmart or some shit and they just tossed the little plastic piece, since its nowhere to be found. I looked at a diagram and it turns out I was missing the 1-way valve for the drain, so I was continously draining oil into the pan. Easy fix, picked up a new one at a pick n' pull and now im able to idle without the car yelling at me.

Bonus, the oil looks clean enough without any sparkly bits draining out, so I think im safe for now.

Low oil pressure message at idle

New to me 2012 Cruze with the 1.4, I get a low oil pressure message at idle and while the car is warmed up. This is the first turbocharged car that I have owned, and the first small car I have owned in a long time. I am a decent mechanic, so right now Im just sending out feelers for what the common issues with these are based on what I have checked, so I know what else to look at.

Below 1000 RPM, I have 15 or less PSI of oil pressure, which goes up to about 20 above 1000. When stopped, I need to rev the car a bit to bring pressure up.

Minor oil leak around the valve cover, none seeping to the spark plugs. No visible drips, and I have not lost much oil over the past few days. Most of it seems to be leaking on the passenger side at the camshaft adjuster magnet and at the valve cover where a cover bolt is stripped. Nothing that should drop oil pressure.

A small amount of oil in the intake

No check engine light, car runs pretty decent for its mileage. Has "good" power. 156,000 miles.

Final(ish) update on the flooded engine

Im not one to be too prideful as to admit that I was wrong. Well, I was wrong. While pulling my upper oil pan, I found this bit of aluminum sitting right behind the dip stick tube.

Short story short, I found a small hole in my block, just big enough to fit my middle finger in. My next update will be several months to a year from now, when I swap a new block in.

And please, I don't want to hear a single "I told you so", because we absolutely SHOULDNT be replacing parts without a decent troubleshoot.

Update on flooded engine

So, as of my last update I was finally able to get the engine to manually spin, but only for just under revolutions. Fortunately (and unfortunately) I found out what was broken today.

The connecting rod for cylinder 5 has grenaded itself, as seen in the first picture with its pieces and the last picture with what is left.

My next step is to pull the upper oil pan to inspect the rest of the rods and the crank. I suspect everything else is at least okay since i have been able to verify that the rest of the pistons and connecting rods are at least moving about the same distance, but im known to be wrong at times. I will update within the next few weeks.

My theory, is that cylinder 5 was the only cylinder to suck water on its compression stroke, which snapped its rod. Me cranking after pulling the plugs just caused one set of valves to keep hitting the piston, which now is floating in the cylinder, causing it to seem seized. As soon as I pull the head and bad piston, ill be able to verify if the cylinder wall or valves received any damage.

Temporary end of a short journey

I fucked up, and its dead now. Poked around the middle of the puddle and it seemed fine, the left was deep so I decided to just try to stay in the middle with my passenger tires. The passenger side slipped into the left rut about midway through, which is where the truck bogged down, popped a transmission overheat message, and shut off.

I was able to winch out before my battery died, and a friend came to help. Pulled the plugs, took the filter(soaked) out, and everything looked okay, save for some wetness at the throttle body. I even got it to crank for like 3 seconds while being jumped, but after that it hasn't cranked at all. The engine wont even turn by hand, even soaking in motor oil.

Ill be spending probably the next month pulling shit apart trying to get this thing to turn over again, or at least figure out what is broken. Wish me luck, this 4x4 swap is not going to stay dead.

A kiss from Lina Malina

I was fucking around with random missions in Dogtown waiting for another game to download, when I discovered something great! You can get a nice, sloppy kiss from Lina Malina(Toolina) if you just kill Shank or make him free Lina.

I was honestly shook to the core when I got the dialog option for a kiss, and it was the sloppiest kiss I have heard in cyberpunk.

Sorry, Panam

I think I'm done

Since 2.0 came out, I have played Cyberpunk with just about every build, every life path, and every choice. Last month, I decided that I was going to do my best to do everything in the game, then be done. Every car bought or found, every gig done, every mission completed. Not 100%, of course, but good enough for me. This way, I can end the game on a positive note with good memories, rather than letting the game get boring.

In the end, I climbed up the Black Sapphire to get my last in-game view of Night City. My last action was jumping off, Night City has nothing left to offer me.

For those whose religion is no longer "recognized"

How are you doing?

Consensus around my unit is a mixed bag. Of course, most people whose religion is still recognized dont seem to care. But some do, and the Pagans, atheists, pastafarians etc are looking a bit down lately.

I want to hear from y'all. Vents, opinions, if you support the policy, consensus around your unit, anything.

Im sure everyone has seen it, probably lived it, but it seems the military punishes Soldiers for being single, even if it isnt meant as punishment.

At what point will the highest senior leaders realize that the married Soldiers have so much more quality of life, just by being married, and try to fix it? They dont need to live in the barracks, they get paid to eat better food, often dont need to work shitty details because of "family time", and arent required to live the Army 24/7 by living a short walk away from your unit. Living in the barracks, you probably have eyes on you most of the time you try to leave, if CQ has a desk near the exit. Worst of all, some Soldiers live 2 to a room and do everything with their roommate watching.

I want to hear your examples of how being single in the Army is a punishment.
