Hydra is an old experimental OpenBoR mod strongly inspired by three of the most popular arenas in the world — Marvel, DC, and SNK. New superheroes were created to face fighters, along with a mystical protocol whose execution turns both fighters and ordinary people into super‑antagonists. The mod offers great dynamics, long gameplay, and a variety of unusual superheroes who resemble their original archetypes but possess their own presence and enigma. As a downside, the game is not adapted for Android devices and works only on PC. Additional note — we made several fixes that removed part of the flash effects in the game. Now the gameplay feels softer and more pleasant for the audience.

He’s one of those brave OpenBoR developers who, even without big resources, managed to share his own vision of the beat ’em up genre. His signature style includes an all‑female roster, thematic continuity between the entries, and characters that grow stronger with each new installment.

The game is called Double Dragon Pocket Remix, and honestly, it’s surprisingly interesting. It includes three chapters dedicated to Double Dragon, plus one focused entirely on Belger’s story.
What makes it even weirder is that the main game is built on the 8‑bit Double Dragon, while the roster comes from modern Pocket‑style KOF fighters, mixed with characters like Yu‑Gi‑Oh. Yes… it’s that kind of chaos.
Each stage is separate and lasts about 30 minutes, but the full story across all four modes adds up to around 2 hours of intense gameplay. Definitely one of the strangest and most curious OpenBoR experiments I’ve seen.

This is a comment from one of our fans, and we completely agree with him. He is referring to the developer Gabo-Hanzo and his game Final Double Dragon: Dragon Master 2.2, with which he concludes his 4‑game cycle of OpenBoR beat ’em ups inspired by the Double Dragon story.

A massive roster — 36 selectable characters.
Among them is Fumma, the red fire ninja you may know from World Heroes. The character looks familiar but has completely different abilities.
Cody, Guy, and Maki from Final Fight also served as inspiration for specific 8‑bit‑style FDD models, which are very attractive. Additionally, Mr. K from Kunio‑kun inspired a character with the same name, resembling both him and Mr. Karate from Art of Fighting.
