Man... i was in love with this game immediately, preordered a month ago, now with this gameplay drop i'm like "did i just pay 70€ for an overpriced 40€ game?" Idk man, and also info around saying the game is like 40-70 hour-ish, i kinda wanted something chonkier for 70€ tbh, i can't undo the pre order so i'm activating protocol [fuck it, we ball] but uh... maybe i should've waited a couple of months post release and get the game discounted, anyway hope i'm wrong and that i'll have a blast

first of all let me say i loved the game, because later i'm gonna bring some negatives and i don't want to give the wrong idea.

I think this game is the true definition of a short game, packed with interesting stuff but doesn't overstays it's welcome, they did a very good job on the feeling of combat, strikes and parries feel good, sound good and look good, most enemies design i loved as well, there's a clear and strong theme with this mix of futuristic technology and ancient myth like religion, but i don't think it translated super well into the background, this 2D-3D thing they went for never really looked good for me, especially the last fight looks goofy as fuck with the 3d arena, the big tree, and a few other zones i completely forgot the name of, i also didn't really liked half the sols, they were really flat characters like Yanlao was just the stereotypical greedy and pridefull elder, the party siblings Nuwa and Fuxi were just... rich? their contribution was literally some off-screen founding, personality non existent and all, Kuafu has probably the second most screen time in the game and his character doesn't really evolve, he just vibes with whatever Yi decides and it's a little racist towards humans, but i really enjoyed Goumag and lady Ethereal, those had great background stories and thematic bossfights. Overall i'd say i had my fun and i hope to see these devs make another game, maybe a different story alltogheter, more refined, bigger and better, because if this was their first attempt, i can't imagine what a full on project would look like.

i'm not even sure if it's because my connection is bad, for honor servers are bad, both, neither, who knows, but suddenly it's all lag spikes, crashes and framedrops, for honor already pushes me to the brink of psychosis without lag bruh

Context: Dawnwalker is a vampire rpg releasing in september with a combat system very fucking similar to for honor, essentially the for honor pve mode i always wanted, and it's also very down to earth as far as a vampire game goes, for comparison the devs worked on the witcher 3, we're talking that level of magic and gritty, i'll be putting links in a comment for context

I'm hoping to spread the news a little bit and to hype people up for this game, also, maybe if it somehow reaches the devs we can plant a seed in their brain, never say never. That said, it gotta be either a shaman or a warmonger right? Who else could even fit the mood? Personally i'd prefer shaman since i want to play a vampire assassin, but if it happens i'm playing whatever no questions asked. Up until my wish is granted i guess i'll have to wait for Dawnwalker release, is it september yet?
