Update on my dad’s c10 you guys helped with the year identification.

Added fresh gas and a new battery. With some starting fluid she started up and after revving it idles great now. Only issue is it won’t start without the spray. Trying to learn about carburetors now.

What carb is this fitted with?
I have a video of it running but idk how to add that.

Trans cooler

Bought this $70 40k cooler off Amazon a few months ago and finally put it on.

One of the lines broke when taking off the old cooler (rust). Cut it and gave it a little flare and got the hose on.

I’m curious to see the trans temp on the hot days.

I kept it running through the radiator since I’m in Michigan.

I might use the old trans cooler to replace the power steering cooler.

Trans filter replacement

How does the pan glitter look to you guys?
How do I tell if it’s the factory trans filter?

That pesky shifter cable bracket was annoying. I couldn’t remove the torx bit to take off the bracket so I just ended up bending it out of the way.

I think in the future I will get the pan with a drain plug so I could just drain the pan.

What year is my dad’s truck?

I don’t have anymore pictures.
This truck has been at his cottage for the past 25+ years. I want todo the brakes next time I’m up there.

My dads LandCruiser

He just sent me this picture, he’s getting the cottage ready for our trip this summer.
I think he’s at 350,000 miles now.
Happy Father’s Day to the dads out there

Power steering line replacement

I was waiting in line to gas and saw some smoke coming from the front left of the hood. After getting gas I took a look, the driver side of the valve cover and intake were wet. Didn’t smell like fuel. I had my son turn the steering wheel while I looked. Pin hole leak in the power steering line was spraying and dripping on the exhaust manifold.

I knew the line definitely had some seepage and I would have to replace it eventually. Eventually was today.

Took me under 2 hours to replace. Man or man was it tough to get to the fitting behind the power steering pump. I’m assuming the right way would be to pull the pump off.

Anyway 50$ and 2 hours later issue is fixed.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
