Lint & dust are taking over my life. What do I do?

I clean my entire house every 2 days minimum wiping down EVERYTHING with a damp microfiber, vacuuming every inch of the house with my vacuum and even though it’s getting slightly more manageable it’s not realistic to do this for the rest of my life. Somebody please help me. What do I have to buy? I got 2 kidneys which one do I have to sell?!- I’m even willing to sell half my liver.

Anywho, for context this is a new construction apartment with all new cotton/bamboo furnishings. The couches are cloth- I’ve never had anything but leather before so this is an adjustment. They seem to need a lot of cleaning especially since they’re cream. <— bad idea. I’ve got cotton throw pillows, cotton throw blankets. We got all new wool rugs which are supposed to shed for about 3 months. We’re about 2 months in and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down despite cleaning them so often. We have all new bamboo bedsheets. Is it all of these materials shedding lint like crazy?

I do have an in unit washing machine but no dryer to remove excess lint so I got a handheld lint catcher. Does a great job! I’ve even ran the little lint rolly thing over all the carpets and tried to collect as much as I can! It gets full from the carpet shedding very quickly. There’s also a lot of dust/dander and lint in it.

I also have a malamute dog whose feet are cleaned every time we come back inside, and he’s brushed every other day. We don’t wear shoes in the house so the floors stay clean but the dust… the lint. I’m at whits end with it. We even have an air purifier in each room. I have to clean all of the AC filters and purifiers every 2-3 days. The pic above is after not cleaning for 2 days as of today if I don’t clean. Is this normal? Please, what can I do?! What do I buy? Preferably it has to be pet safe. It’s not worth it if it hurts my dog.

Last picture is the cleaning crew!

DC: Met Gala Wedding

I’m as excited as I am stressed. :) I’ve been to many formal weddings but never a Met Gala wedding and I’ll be honest, I am sweating. It’s going to be at a very high-end venue. I’m actually already running behind on picking a dress because it’ll take almost 6 weeks to get here and then I’ll need to take it to a seamstress. I’ve just really been putting it off because I don’t like thinking about such a big event.

Any slits will be closed or taken down to just above the knee. Some of these dresses I know are going to be too plain but I’m just not a fan of dresses covered in pearls, sequins, and stones. For reference, most women will be dressed in bodycon dresses that are see-through with bling to the heavens and back.

DC: Met Gala

Please help me pick a dress I’ll be comfortable in. Any suggestions for simple alterations (adding a crystal belt etc) SUPER appreciated! Also, should I wear a fur wrap to stay warmer? It is expected to be very cold possibly snow!

Comfort Food 🥔 🥩

I wanted something savory and home-feeling. I’m not sure there’s anything more comforting than potatoes, meat, and gravy. Mashed potatoes, cubed steak battered and pan fried in olive oil with some veggies cooked in the grease and made into gravy.

The original color was gray

In case you’re wondering, this is caked on grease and filth. Children lived in this apartment…😭

How are you supposed to make a nice apartment for people/families when you have to trash all the appliances because of the state they leave them, rip the drywall out, and rip the floors out?

Steak Poke & Frozen Yogurt

I made some steak poke bowls and I tried to make a sushi roll as well. That was hard without the equipment. For dessert I made frozen yogurt with a coconut & cacao crumble topped with a drizzle of honey. It was delicious :)

How do you ladies decorate with pets?!

What can I do to my coffee table that’s pet friendly? My dog likes to crawl in small spaces and he will knock any decorative vases off the table! What do you ladies do to decorate in a pet-friendly way?!

How can I decorate this nook?

My husband wanted a dark brown wall for our breakfast nook so I chose a deep chocolate brown color. Which- I’ll be honest, I’ve come to like it a lot especially with the mirror because it increases the lighting! What can be added to brighten and elevate this nook?

I feel like the dark painting could come down and be centered with the Mirror. Should I add some light-colored pillows? Sconces? If I add a sconce I’d like a natural stone one. A chandelier is out of the question because the ceiling is too high up and at an angle. I don’t want the space to feel crowded or overly dark; I want cozy and comfortable (without breaking the bank). I will be conditioning the nook with wax soon, so it’ll be a nice light golden honey color. I would prefer natural elements but gimme all you’ve got! Thank you in advance. <3
