Miele dishwasher F13 error midcycle

I have a Miele G4228SCU dishwasher that I used for a year at my last house and loved so much I took it with me when I left. No issues previously.

The water inlet hose got a little crushed in the move so I replaced the whole aquastop/intake system with the part directly from Miele. So that’s all brand new. Plumber came and hooked the machine up to the plumbing for me.

It runs fine for about 60 minutes (on a 1:47 total cycle) and then throws an F13 error code.

When I open the dishwasher at that point, dishes look clean and wet, soap is gone, no standing water in the bottom. So it’s definitely filling and draining but seems to get caught on a final rinse cycle or something.

I noticed the plumber did connect it to my hot water supply instead of cold which isn’t ideal for Miele. Could it be getting too hot by the end of the cycle and throwing the code? My water heater is on a normal setting, but hot water coming from my faucet is around 135 degrees.

It’s an old house so maybe the pressure isn’t great overall (no issues with sink or shower pressure) but the fact it makes it that far in the cycle makes me think that’s not it. Only other thing I can think of is some debris from the install getting stuck or something. Anyone have ideas about what might be causing this?

Thank you!

Denali Cabins logistics

We’re taking the train from Anchorage and spending 2 nights at Denali NP in late August. We’re staying at the Denali Cabins, which have a shuttle, but they’re somewhat far from the Glitter Gulch area.

Im wondering how inconvenient the shuttle situation is going to be and would love anyone’s insight. For example, we’re taking the Tundra Wilderness Tour early in the morning before the scheduled shuttle times, but it says we can still request a shuttle? Is it usually available? Are there any trails of any kind accessible near the cabins (if we just wanted to stretch our legs after the train ride)? I’m having trouble finding much info online. Thank you!!

What’s long enough for a Lisbon layover/connection?

We have round trip flights from the US to Lisbon (direct). We decided to add Madeira to our itinerary. Ideally, we would just add another round trip flight from Lisbon to Madeira onto our current itinerary. [So the new schedule would be land in Lisbon at 8:30 AM and connect straight to Madeira, spend time there, then fly back to Lisbon for a few days, then fly home.]

This means we’d be on separate itineraries/tickets, so I want to make sure we have enough time to connect in Lisbon. Normally I would think 1-2 hrs is fine, but I keep hearing it can take really long to get through passport control.

Is 2 hrs enough? 3?

All-Levels Sequencing/Peak Poses help

I’ve recently started regularly teaching an all-levels yoga class at a farm, and I’m looking for input on class planning. There are a few “regulars,” but many people come more for a one-time experience/event, so there has truly been a full range of experience levels and ages.

I always try to offer modifications and plenty of verbal cues/reassurance to listen to their bodies, but I don’t know that I’ve found the sweet spot yet where experienced yogis get some challenge/variety and newcomers don’t get lost or intimidated.

There’s no access to props unless people bring their own, so I’ve noticed even poses like half moon sometimes throw people off. Sun salutation variations are always pretty solid for all levels, but I personally like some creative transitions and flows.

Curious if anyone has general tips for sequencing these types of classes or peak poses that you find accessible yet challenging. I know even experienced yogis can take something away from a gentler, more simple class but I want to keep improving my teaching skills too.

Thanks in advance!

6 days: Lisbon/Porto or Madeira

My partner and I found a very affordable direct flight to Lisbon from our city in the United States. We’ll be there 6 full days plus a travel day on each end. Neither of us have ever been to Portugal, and he’s never been to Europe at all. We planned to stay in/around Lisbon, Porto, maybe Douro valley, but now we’re very tempted to pivot and spend most of the trip in Madeira.

We enjoy good food, culture, etc. but we really love spending time in nature/hiking/seeing great views/less hustle and bustle over shopping or nightlife.

We would love to do both but we know even a week in one place will feel short. We likely won’t be back in this area for several years, so it feels hard to pass up either option while we’re this close. I know we’ll have a great trip either way — Madeira seems like such a bucket list place to see, but everywhere looks incredible. Open to any input! Thanks in advance!

Formal country club wedding guest

Going to an afternoon wedding at a very nice country club in CA. Invite said formal - midi or maxi dresses and they’d love to see pops of color to celebrate.

Is this appropriate with a nude heel? I included the product photos since the lighting wasn’t great when I tried it in. I tried several gowns and the rest have all been too short (5’10”).

Is it odd for host to ask for phone number?

We have booked a VRBO for next month (California). It’s fully paid. The host messaged me today asking for the best phone number to send check-in instructions, and he also provided his phone number in the message.

The listing has also been removed, but from what I’ve read, that doesn’t sound like an issue as long as our booking is there (yes) and the host is responding (yes). It had good reviews so i didn’t notice any red flags when booking.

I haven’t been asked for my number directly before (I assumed hosts could see my contact info when I booked?), so between that and the listing removal, my antenna is up a little. Is this normal or should I be wary for any reason?

My partner and I are visiting Alaska August 26-Sept 2, flying in and out of anchorage. I’ve done an Alaska cruise, which was gorgeous but of course barely scratched the surface. My boyfriend has never been. We are active and very much want to enjoy the outdoors. We really want to make the most of our trip, but don’t want to be rushing through just to check off stops — which is why I’m here for a reality check about what we can’t miss vs what we should save for a future visit.

Our preference is to have one “home base” and drive to our activities, but it seems like we probably need to move around a bit to minimize how much time is spent in the car.

So far, we know we’re taking the train round trip from Anchorage to Denali with two nights in the park to kick off the trip. I’ve read mixed reviews on whether we should book the bus tour there, so would love opinions!

So we have August 30-Sept 2 (9pm flight) to do “everything else.”

Some things we’re interested in doing:

- I have a friend in Anchorage who is going to take us flightseeing for 1-2 hours one of the days (weather dependent)

- Kenai River fishing

- Maybe 1-2 nights in Seward so we could do Kenai Fjords sea kayaking/some sort of boat tour OR a half day kayak on Resurrection Bay if we wouldn’t have time to make a full day work

- I have a friend who recently moved to Girdwood and it would be nice to see her at least for a dinner or a few hours on the weekend

- open to any moderate hikes that make sense for our timing (6 miles or less)

Based on that, we’d be looking at something along the lines of:

- August 26: arrive anchorage, maybe attempt flight seeing

- August 27 - 29: Train to Denali

- August 30: recovery/flex day in Anchorage or Girdwood (flightseeing backup)

- August 31: Drive to Seward, Kenai fishing, stay in Seward

- Sept 1: Kenai Fjords kayaking/boat ride, stay in Seward

- Sept 2: Day mostly free until flight home, so maybe an easy hike and drive back to Anchorage?

Am I missing any “must-sees” that would add to the experience given our interests/geographic area? Should we skip anything currently on the agenda and save our budget for something else? Open to all suggestions! Thank you so much in advance!
