Night elves of Val’sharah

Were the night elves of Val’sharah immortal? After the Well of Eternity was destroyed, we knew that the Night Elves got their immortality from Nordrassil’s blessing. However, that blessing only extended to the Night Elves of Kalimdor, which is why the Highborne that ventured to what would be known as Quel’Thalas lost their immortality.

[astro-seek] why do i have such horrible luck with love?

my ex abruptly ended a healthy relationship (my first “real” relationship, before that i had flings/hookups and just dated around) with me (on amicable terms) after 3 months of us dating and not even a week of me meeting him in person (we were long distance with plans to close it in the future), before that, i had an unhealthy ex-situationship that lovebombed me, led me on, and lied to me/manipulated me, before ghosting me and getting back together with his ex (to this day he won’t leave me alone but he doesn’t put in the work to treat me right, they’re in an open relationship), and BEFORE that i’ve had a slew of men do essentially the same thing that he did to a lesser extent. i don’t get it, why does love come so easily for others but not for me?

how do i heal my fear of abandonment?

my ex broke up with me on amicable terms a few months back and it really triggered my trauma responses that i developed after a slew of past relationships where the other partner manipulated and lied to me. all i could think of is how he’s a liar, how he dumped me for someone else (despite saying he wants to be single for a while), i started reading into every single thing he did/how he acted, i didn’t believe a word he said, i couldn’t trust him nor forgive him, you get the gist. i’m currently no contact with him for the sake of my own sanity and his but it’s so tiring being like this and we’ve been friends for a good few years before that and i want to be on good terms with him.

i don’t know what to believe anymore

still reeling over my (24f) breakup (27m) that happened almost 2 months ago and i still can’t wrap my head around why it happened. we dated for about 3 months and we both seemed so happy and healthy until on a random night he hit me with the “we should just be friends” talk. he cited that he “needs to work on himself” because he was in the middle of moving, he lost his job a few months back, he’s in debt, etc. and while i do want to trust and believe him i’ve been lied to and manipulated so many times in the past all i can think about how that’s all just a crock of shit and that he just wanted to get rid of me and when i asked him if he was seeing other people he said “the last thing i want is to be in a relationship”. he said he loved me a few times post-breakup and he even said some flirty things which fucked with my head a bit lol and naturally i couldn’t help myself become bitter and resentful over the whole situation so i just semi-consciously withdrew from him before i decided to go no-contact for the sake of my sanity and his. it really fucking hurts because i don’t know what to believe or who to trust anymore and now it feels like we’re just strangers which fucking hurts because he told me he was going to be there and that we were going to be close no matter what :(

talk about how you’ve had a bad experience with therapy and you hear “you must have met with a bad therapist! you need to shop around for the perfect fit”. talk about how therapy doesn’t work and you get “you’re just not putting in the work, you need to change your mindset in order to heal”. it’s seriously deranged. could you imagine if people talked like this about any other healthcare field?

i know it’s not a very hot take in rs-adjacent spaces to be critical/against the field but after seeing so many people treat therapy as a panacea and then blaming the person for when it doesn’t work out for them i just can’t help but see modern-day psychotherapy in the same vein as chiropractic. my brother regularly goes to therapy and he’s just as selfish and self-serving as he was before, he just manipulates people with his “mental health” and he’s got a “””professional””” to validate him this time. i’ve tried numerous therapists before (i used to have really bad ocd but meds helped quell it down) and they’ve all been relatively useless because all they offered was breathing exercises and shallow platitudes so i just kinda gave up on it.
