1.6K downloads in 2 weeks. If you had 15 days left, what would you do?

I launched my app on the App Store on June 11, the same day the World Cup started. Timing was everything, I wanted football fans to be able to use it from day one.

After 14 days, it has 1.62K downloads, all organic, $0 paid promotion. Honestly, I’m really proud of those numbers.

Not because of the money (proceeds do not even cover half of my API and backend costs 😅), but because people are actually using something I spent a lot of time building. For me, the biggest reward is seeing a product I genuinely believe in being useful to others.

Now for the fun part…

The tournament only has two weeks left. If you were in my position and your goal was to get this app from 1.6K to many more downloads (I do not want to say 20K or 30K) before the tournament ends, what would you do?

I’m already working on ASO (not so much time for that), TikTok, and continuously improving the app, but I’m sure there are ideas I haven’t thought of.

I’m genuinely curious what this community would try if they had a short-lived, event-driven app with only a couple of weeks left to make an impact.

After the tournament ends I will convert the app into an app for football fans, so it would have a life beyond the World Cup.

I created World Football Cup 2026, a beautiful World Cup companion (in my opinion), would appreciate your feedback

Hello everyone!

I created this app because I wanted to follow the World Cup in a beautiful interface. I wanted an app that gives you match schedules, live scores, live match events, live stats, insights, group standings, pre-match and live predictions, knockout bracket, widgets, favorite teams and players & more.

I managed to get my app approved by Apple just 1 day before the start of the World Cup, since then I already released 2 updates, so the app now works flawlessly.

Many functions are free, for the predictions, advanced insights, stats, lineups, advanced notifications there is a one-time IAP for this tournament.

All the schedules, live scores, group standings, match overview are completely free.

I'd love to know if you like it, suggest improvements or tell me about any other feature you would like to have in the app.

Thanks!

How do apps legally show discounts after users dismiss a paywall?

I’ve noticed that a lot of apps show a special discount or promotional offer after a user closes a paywall for the first time. I’ve never implemented this in my own apps, so I’m wondering whether Apple considers this acceptable under App Review guidelines.

I know Apple has rules against manipulative subscription practices, so I’m curious where the line is. Are these offers generally allowed and if so, are there any specific guidelines we should follow?

So happy to share this with you, World Cup fans!

Hi, everyone! I'm so happy that I couldn't wait to share this with you.

Apple just approved my latest app, right in time for the World Cup.

It includes a lot of free cool features: Live scores, upcoming, matches, finished results, venues, kickoff times, group standings, match details, insights, widgets & more.

There's also a one-time IAP that unlocks Premium predictions, Match intelligence, Scenario simulator, Knockout Probability, Favorites tools, Premium notifications.

The UI is fully customized for the tournament and looks fantastic across all matches.

You can get it here: https://apps.apple.com/app/world-football-cup-2026/id6775471221

The app was approved today, so it may take a little time to appear in all countries as it propagates through the App Store, but it will be available worldwide.

I hope you enjoy it & I’d love to hear your feedback.

Thanks!

Here are my numbers after 3 weeks, help me understand them

Hi guys! I’ve launched this app almost 3 weeks ago, but the first week was really strong, nearly 80% of the sales were in the first week, when I also averaged 15-20 downloads/day, then all the numbers dropped aprubtly. Does anybody know why?
Does Apple do that, push your app for one week?
