Feeling uneasy but might be nothing … would love thoughts from other parents

We took our kiddo for a class at Kidstrong. Class was great, coaches were great too, they go a bit fast and for younger toddlers it should be less fast pace. Anyways my kiddo loved it and slept great after the session 😅. I started to have second thoughts about this place after observing two things; 1) at the end of the session coaches announced some sort of awards! I thought kids would be rewarded for their work, fun etc.. every little thing/effort counts. I didn’t know they only give awards to two kids in each session depending of how they perform. I don’t think it should be necessary to do this especially at such a young age (2-3 yo) i thought everyone did a great job 🤷🏻‍♀️ so why? 2). While getting ready to leave, a couple with their barely 4 years old daughter came in. The little girl was so happy and running around waiting for the session to begin. But the big surprise to me was to see her parents behavior . They were looking at a screen of their session, you could see all the kiddos attending, their levels and scores. All the sudden they started shouting “Who’s that kid (name) ?! Why is this kid having such a big score!?” Who the hell is that?! “ they were adamant a kid probably 3 years old had a higher score than her daughter! Observing this was hard. I don’t want to put my own kids in a place where they could be constantly look down from other parents if they “perform” good? Like they should just follow instructions and have fun! Why does it have to be a hardcore competition for little ones that are not even 5 years old? Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.

In need of help with Amgen stock market.

Hello community, we recently read the new 2Q earnings report from Amgen ; /note to mention partner and I work for the company and they give us stock but we can’t get any money out until working for at least two years * / in the report from the WallStreet Journal it is mention they exceeded expectations and their cash flow was good.

We honestly do not know much about how the market works. We are uncertain about the company’s future due to so many layoffs, outsourcing and more instability within the company. Will any expert in the stock market kindly explain if this very good 2Q report can be a predictor for future growth and stability? (Don’t even know if the question is correct. Forgive my ignorance)

Thank you !

Here’s the link for the report! Forgot to added

Hamlin park Roscoe Village

Hi parents! Take a second look at your Nannie’s. We all know they are hard working people and a Pilar for our community. However, I’ve been noticing that some if not many nannies who take your kiddos to Hamlin Park with your babies and toddlers who haven’t reach yet their milestones to fully speak up for themselves, they don’t play with them but instead they spend a lot of time on their phones scrolling, talking or texting. For example; Observing babies on the swings trying to communicate with them with their hand gestures and noises to let them know they are done or to communicate their wants/needs and being ignored is hard to see. Let them wonder around without any supervision. The other day a nanny at Hamlin park was so focus on her phone call that she didn’t realize that one of the equipments was so hot from the sun (it was a hot day!) that when she put the baby on it she immediately started screaming. And another one was leaving a little one unattended while taking selfies and calling friends. The little one wonder around without supervision and ended up following a dad and his son. After a while this nanny decided to join them and to my surprise their started flirting (note* her outfit was not appropriate for her job description) 🫠 if you want some details about the nanny ask in comments. Totally your choice. These are YOUR kids and YOUR MONEY that pays for their services, but if you want please check in with your Nannie’s and reevaluate expectations when they have outside time. I’ve seen so many things that’s is just unbelievable.

Can someone kindly explain this charts?

I’m losing hope for trying for a baby. I started to use Inito recently and did I the test early morning but couldn’t get any good results. Then learned many women test late afternoon and get good numbers so I gave it a try.

I finally got my high peak and high fertility, we were hopeful and calm but something in me told me to look further on those numbers. So I did. It seems the numbers I got during high peak and high fertility might not be ovulation. They are too low. But why Inito showed it like it was ovulation? And finally, Inito says still waiting to confirm ovulation. Charts below.

I found a dead Bat at the entrance of my building. Anything I can do?

I found a dead Bat right at the entrance of my building, for reference you have to open a gate then walk around 20 feet to the main door of the building which has a weird layout, you still out but above is the apartments and balconies (my apologies if this doesn’t make sense) . I’ve also seen quite a lot flying around at night. Is this normal in Chicago? If not. What should I do or who should I contact to get help, if needed? Thank you!

Testing in the afternoon

I started to test twice with Inito because It seems that I just can get any positive results. I decided to test morning (first pee ) and then around 4-5 pm. And what a difference does it make! Thinking of testing just once in the afternoon to not waste the expensive strips. Anyone else has this experience? Any suggestions on testing is welcome 🙏🏼

Feeling uneasy about my young toddler being exposed to the extreme heat.

Hi parents and everyone who has a child in preschool (2 to 5). Yesterday my young toddler’s (2yo) teacher made her and her whole class to play outside in the extreme heat for almost 30 minutes. I think the temperature was around 102°+ at the time they were outside. At pickup it was 107°. She put a plastic pool full of cold water and some water balloons.

I was very concerned when I learned this. Even though they were playing with water, the space had no shade. And it is my understanding that young toddlers should not be outside if temperatures rise 90°+ when in care in a preschool (this is private one) I emailed her the day before to share my concerns about the extreme heat. And asked if they could play indoors. She assured me they would reduce the outdoor play to a minimum and that they would play in the playground that has lots of shade. I felt good with her response, but at pickup i learned she did the opposite. My kid’s face was all red and she was very sweaty. I am so upset, I don’t if I’m overthinking it and I don’t know if i should address this to her and the director.

Also, does anyone know if private schools have to follow any guidelines for extreme weather conditions? Who regulates this?

Please advice thank you

I came across this on insta. Help translate please

This (screenshot of the video above ) appeared on my insta feed. It seems to me that this person (according to the translation instagram offer of his bio) is using sarcasm and black humor to get away with racism, hate, misogyny and more! I don’t know Spanish and would like to understand what’s in the caption. Can someone please help me translate? Thank you

Note* his whole account is weird. I’ve reported to instagram but no action has been taken. Also I don’t know if I am allowed to post the account name of the person who owns the account here on Reddit

Danny go trend from influencers needs to stop.

Children singer Danny go who’s son who was born with a genetic disorder is in hospice care. Back in February he canceled all his tours for 2026 to spend every precious minute with his family and son. But the thing is… moms and teachers influencers started this trend a few days ago of making videos dancing to Danny’s music with the caption “going to work but leaving Danny Go videos on repeat so he can get money to support his family “ or “listening all day to Danny so to show all the support and attention to get his view up and running” hundreds of influencers making it look like Danny has no income. We are heartbroken by what he’s going through. However he’s network is over 12 million and counting! Deals with Netflix, Target and adds from YouTube made him a millionaire. And you know what? that’s awesome. He and his team worked hard for this. But These influencers are getting money for themselves with this trend and the amount of views they are getting.

It is heartbreaking to see all the people leaving comments like “omg yes I’ll do the same to support Danny and his son” “you are an amazing person for making this video to support him “ blablablah. People seriously? Posting those heartbreaking emojis and i guarantee none of them will lift a finger to support families whose children are going through cancer treatments or hospice care and can’t even afford their meds.

I blocked my friend and their partner (they have two kids) for canceling on my daughter’s birthday party the night before the party. My friend texted me what it looked like a weak made up excuse and I just couldn’t handle it anymore. Back story; Every time they had a gathering at their house we always attended. Birthday parties, housewarming, etcetera… but when it is about me and my family trying to invite them to our place for playdates and parties or just simply to hang out they never showed up or ignored us. My daughter turned three! And this time we decided to invite only a few friends who have kiddos and keep it very small due to some financial difficulties. We sent the invite two months in advance and they confirmed it right away, so we got very disappointed and upset they did this to us, to our daughter…. In the end we had only her two little cousins and one more friend. It was sad but we made the best of it. So the night before the party and after they canceled we decided to block them and never ever talk to them…

Did I made the right decision? Thanks for your input and advice.
