Married couple in 30s , first time . Go to a club or meet on an app?

Hey there,
my wife and I (34/35) are interested in dipping our toes in. She is not sure weather she feels more comfortable going to a club or meeting off an app like feeld etc. we are on the east coast, fit and looking to explore some.

She thinks the app is more chill but also doesn’t want to sift through tons of people , making small talk as if she were dating . I explained that we could go to a club and just watch and get a feel for what we could expect without doing a single thing.

She wants to find a somewhat younger club if we were to do that but I am thinking it’s more of a mixed bag. Not sure which way to go but looking for any insight

If I keep Miata my wife will buy me a roll bar but do I need it?

Moving to SoCal and need to jump some
Hoops to take the car out there. If we take it, my wife said she feels unsafe in a rollover and would prefer if I had a roll bar installed. I don’t track the car but will do canyon rides, spirited drives etc and don’t necessarily want the extra weight. She says she wants me to sell it or never have her in the car unfortunately. She will cover the cost of the roll bar plus the installation. It’s an 05 mazdaspeed with 90k miles for reference. Thanks

Left the elevator union after a rough start — worth trying to get back in?

I’ll keep this brief. I passed my aptitude test for a local and got on the list. While waiting, I was contacted by another local who offered to bring me in as a 2nd-year instead of starting as a probationary apprentice — same pay, but school from the beginning like everyone else.

My assigned mechanic made the experience miserable from day one. He threw tools at me, constantly told me to “go back to the rat pits,” and made it nearly impossible to actually learn. I know how the trades work, but this was beyond the usual hazing. Eventually it wore me down and I made the mistake of quitting to go back to my non-union job when they called me back.

The union manager asked if I wanted to be reassigned to a different mechanic, but honestly I was too embarrassed to admit how much this guy had gotten to me — so I walked instead of just asking for a transfer. Stupid in hindsight.

Two months after going back non-union, a wheelchair lift fell on me and I tore my bicep. Once I healed, the company made it clear they didn’t value me. That’s when it really hit me what I’d walked away from.

Is it worth trying to get back into the union? Has anyone successfully rejoined after leaving under similar circumstances?

▲ 10 r/S2000

I’m in my 30s and have always loved the s2000 but wasn’t obtainable till recently , though prices continue to rise. I am coming from a turbo Miata that I don’t fit, the s2000 (ap2 atleast) fits me just fine.

We have zero kids and wondering if this car can still be a good daily or is it getting to an age where it makes more sense as a weekend/ toy car?

Wife has an x5 for when we need the room . Just not that many engaging manual trans cars sub 40k in my opinion these days . FWIW my dream would be a yellow ap2 .

TIA
