Hit & Run personal injury claim

Hi all,

I was recently in a car accident where my car was hit by a suspected drunk driver who then fled the scene. It was a hard hit and we were run off the road. The car was totalled and I sustained soft tissue injuries from the seat belt on impact. I was told by my insurance company that because we couldn't identify the other driver that it would be considered an at fault claim and I would lose a few years off my no claims. The guards were on the scene and took our statements, and we got a pulse number but we don't think they will be able to identify the driver.

I went to the ddoc the next day and they confirmed soft tissue neck injury so I got in touch with one of those no win no fee solicitors and they are taking the case. Now after signing I am worried about a situation where the legal costs exceed the compensation and I am considering withdrawing my case because of this. Would anyone have any advice on this kind of situation?

Leaving permanent level 1 role for more senior fixed-term contract

I may have the opportunity to move to a senior engineer role internally from a level 1 support role, the only issue is that I am currently a permanent employee, whereas the senior role is a fixed-term 2 year contract. I am enrolled in the company pension and not if that will be affected but it would be a decent pay rise and a much more senior role. What would you do in this situation? Is it a bad idea to go from permanent to fixed contract? I'd be looking to get a mortgage around the time the contract is ending..

I brought 2 rods and a bucket of fresh peelers, didn't even get a chance to finish baiting up my second rod when I started getting bites on the first rod, and it was non stop after that so could only fish with 1 rod for the rest of the evening! The one in the picture was biggest at 93cm.
