Why is this genre so obsessed with trying to replace their main character?

They are trying to replace:

Dante with Nero

Bayonetta with Viola

Ryu with Yakumo

What is the deal? Why can't they just make a new franchise or something if they are gonna try this?

Quick Question after me taking a long break then finishing Last of Us 1

Why didn't Marlene take Ellie herself? I know she was injured, but she obviously wasn't dying. She was proven to travel back and forth. Yes she lost most of her crew, but she was traveling with more people, which increased the likelihood of survival. Her numbers and her familiarity with this route makes it way to high risk to send Joel alone with Ellie.

Why didn't Marlene shoot Joel at the end?

"I knew her since she was born, I promised her mother I would look after her! this is not about me or her, there is no other choice here"

They did not ask Ellie for her opinion for surgery, so she is capable of child murder basically.

"March him out of here, if he tries anything shoot him"

Stands there trying to negotiate with someone who killed a whole hospital. Puts her gun down.

Is Mario 3 only fun if you are good at it?

I have played other games, which you can have fun, like the Resident Evil series or the Doom Series where you don't have to be good to have fun.

However there is this other group of games like the Devil May Cry series that only really are fun if you are good.

I have played other Mario games like Odyssey,Galaxy etc, and I had fun even though I sucked at them. This is not the case with Mario 3.

It feels, you can only have fun with it,if you are good, does anyone else feel this?

Something I always wondered about Resident Evil 1(And REmake); Is the second half boring?

I don't understand this. I love the game, and I replay the first section over and over again until the cows go moo. But once I leave the mansion and go into the garden, my interest takes a nose dive, until I go back into the mansion again, and then when I go into the mines, I just don't want to play anymore.

It just feels really hard to enjoy the game unless it is in the mansion itself which is just odd to me,because you are effectively doing the same thing.

I don't feel this as much with Resident Evil 2,even though it kinds of starts dragging a little bit when you are starting to move around the areas where the library is ,but it is very short lived and it becomes fun again when you go into the parking lot area etc.

Is the second half of Resident Evil 1 boring or?

Itsuno was a very very talented man. And with that,Capcom gave him rights over Devil May Cry and he pushed Nero into the lead role. Of course he didn't get complete reign over it as Dante was still very much prevalent, but then I look around outside of the franchise.

Dante is the one being promoted everywhere. Punishing Gray Raven that just came out had Dante and Vergil cross over. In Monster Hunter World, Dante was the one that was promoted in that game and in Marvel Vs Capcom 3, they for some reason, put Dante, Vergil and TRISH in it. Trish, as opposed to Nero.

What does this mean for the future of the franchise?
