FB dating Vs. other apps

I (59m) have noticed that FB dating is a lot different from other apps. Definitely more genuine profiles plus I haven't seen fake profiles and scammers. Also, I have noticed that I have to be picky swiping right or else I end up with too many matches and conversations.
Men: Do you read each profile before swiping?

What differences do you all notice?

Extra Mirror recommendations

I love my Hornet. But when I hug my tank and bend forward, I simply can’t see the mirrors.

Any one feels the same? Any ideas?
Thanks and ride safe!

750 e-clutch shift 1->2 and 2->3

This topic has been brought up before, about how 1->2 and 2->3 seems a bit hard.

I found that, if I do not roll off/roll back on like we do in a typical bike between the shift, the e-shifts are much smoother.

Could someone check to see if I am making any sense?

Thanks & ride safe!

E-clutch is a no-brainer

If you debating whether to get an E-clutch model, I think you will not regret it. Even if you are a super experienced rider, E-clutch makes life a lot easier. Imagine, you can take your hands of the handle bar at a red light. Plus, you will never stall. You will still need to upshift and down shift, just no more clutch. And if you really want the clutch back, you can disable it.

EDIT: It also comes in handy at a stop light if you need both hands to open a jacket zipper, take out a piece of chewing gum, etc.

Gapapetin for sleeping

I take 300mg in the evening and it helps me sleep like a baby for 9 hours. Anyone else doing this?
Wonder long term effects of this?

Maintenance at 300 miles?

I just bought the E-clutch Hornet a weeks ago and I have just ridden it around for a few hundred miles but the dashboard already says maintenance required (wrench icon). I called the Honda dealer and found out it will cost $300 for maintenance. I am not sure I can afford $ 300 every few weeks. Is this something I can do?

My I-880 conspiracy theory

I swear Interstate 880 is just a closed-loop racetrack for massive, filthy trucks. You never see them on any other freeways. I’m convinced they are just driving back and forth in circles with the sole purpose of ruining everyone's commute.

Love my Hornet

It's been only two days since I got my Hornet 750 E-Clutch. I'm coming from a Rebel 300. At first, I had a lot of complaints - The seating position is awkward and my arm hurts with all the pressure, blah blah.

After just 200 miles on it, I have gotten adjusted to it and I am now loving it. Granted the throttle is very sensitive and the controls definitely need fine motor skills unlike my Rebel.

And I love the E-clutch, I can let go of the handlebar when I am at a red light and need to pop a chewing gum or when I pull into my driveway and need to open my garage with my app.

One test ride is simply not enough if you are thinking about buying this bike.

Rebel 300 -> Hornet e-clutch

Got my second bike after a 4 month wait (California).

I did 60 miles today. Powerful for sure. Still getting used to the shifter and the seat position.

Anyone else went from a Rebel?

What year did you receive the 1st romantic scammer message?

Let me go first. 1993. I received my 1st romantic scam message about 33 years ago via an email (.edu university email). She sent me some hot pics and told me how she would love to go for a coffee with me. I had butterflies in my belly, I thought I finally found a pretty woman who liked me. Back then, we never got any spam email. I didn't know what a scammer was. Anyways, I replied to her and went home. I remember thinking about her all evening.
Next day, she sends me a link with more hot pics and wants my credit card info (just to verify my age). I didn't have a credit card. I tried so hard to get into the site and I gave up.

Tired of CA

I only drink about 5 to 6 times a year. And I only drink beer. But each bender lasts about 3 days and it is hell each time. The crazy text messages I send and the 2 or 3 days I take to recover is sheer hell. Just venting.

EDIT: and the scariest thing is I ride my motorcycle after a few beers.

My Spiritual Awakening

I wanted to share with you that I’ve been listening to Alan Watts for the past month or so.

About a week ago, my child suffered some type of seizure symptoms. This lasted about two hours during that time I had to take in all the suffering from the pain she was feeling that’s when I was 100% grounded in reality. This was when I felt I was going through near death experience I was completely gone to the other side. The other side is just 100% peace when I came back I knew I was reborn. Then I knew this was my spiritual awakening.

I was a complete atheist my entire life of 59 years.
It now seems that these videos were just preparing me for the incident.

I completely relate to everything Alan Watt talks about. I even understand why Alan Watts was smoking and drinking, even though he knew everything about suffering and peace.
This has completely changed me. This was no ordinary transformation.
I’m so grateful and feel privileged to be given this opportunity

Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Thank you!

WimpyDude @ journey start

Currently skinny and wimpy, getting on a fitness journey to build muscle. Hope to achieve something substantial by July 1st. Age 58, 5’7”, 157lb.

The Bad: smoker 60+ cigarettes a day, lethargic, sedentary job, too lazy to eat (to me, only junk food is addictive), depression, excessive sleep.

The Good: sugar free, no processed foods except two fast food meals a week. Lots of veggies, fruits, nuts. Lentils. Always at 157 lb. No alcohol.

Dating Younger Women

I'm 59m, very fit, wrinkle-free, gray hair but I dye it.
I would like to date women my age who are fit, will get on my motorcycle and perhaps go skateboarding or rollerblading with me. I would also like a mature spiritual connection. I live in a big metro, so there are plenty of 50+ women who are very fit, but they don't seem to swipe right on me,

So, now I'm swiping with women in their 30s and early 40s. I have two dates this week with a 35 y/o and another 36 y/o. I think it will go well because they seem to love the motorcycle and rock-climbing vibe. But I don't think they are into spirituality and existential misery that I like to talk about.

How do appeal to my fit women who are 50+?
