Baby and VOCs

Hey everyone, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this but here goes. My husband used the rustoleum frosted glass spray to frost our master bathroom window yesterday around 2pm. He tried to keep the bathroom door closed while he did it and he kept the fan on during and overnight as well. He also opened up the bedroom windows and had a fan in one of the windows to try and air it out.

We sleep in the master bedroom with our 3 month old. It’s a really big room and her crib is on the opposite side from the bathroom. My question is, how long should we be worried about VOCs in the room? We slept in the first room last night and we decided to again tonight cause we think it still very faintly smells in the master bedroom. We might just be being paranoid but at what point would we be okay to go back to sleeping in the master bedroom? We don’t want to do any harm to our baby so we’ve been erring on the side of caution.

I don’t really want to put her back in there to sleep till we’re sure it’s safe. Any help would be amazing!

Why is my baby crazy at bedtime?

I know that’s probably a super common question from parents but holy hell this is hard. My baby just hit 12 weeks and she’s been extra bad about bedtime, like she will lay in her crib calmly while we warm up the bath and she loves bath time but as soon as we’re out and getting dressed she just cries. We know she’s hungry too but she’s just too upset to eat, even when she’s being calm she’ll start crying as soon as I try to feed her. It takes at least an hour to put her down and even then she’ll wake up 20 minutes later finally ready to eat and THEN she’ll go down for her first stretch of the night, which lately feels like an hour.

Is she just overtired? Undertired? Are we just doomed to suffer until she grows out of whatever sleep regression this is?

I’m up pretty much all night with her because she’s been eating almost every hour and she’s breastfed so my husband can’t really do it lol just hoping this will get better. I’m not sure if there’s really anything we can do to improve the situation right now.

7 Eagle schedule

Anyone been through the program that can tell me what the schedule is actually like while you’re in it? I recently had a baby and I’m not sure what to expect in terms of if I’ll be able to do childcare during or if I should find a caretaker

Should I keep my keyboard or my digital piano?

In the process of clearing things out before a move and I have a keyboard and a digital piano and I’m not sure which one to keep. The keyboard has 88 keys and they’re fully weighted. The digital piano is the same but it also has pedals. I’m leaning towards keeping the keyboard since it can take up less space but what would y’all keep in this situation?

I’m just a casual player and eventually I’d like to get my daughter in lessons and have her use whichever one we keep.

Should I match the upstairs blinds to the downstairs ones?

My husband and I are going to be moving in a couple months and renting our home out. The property manager we’re working with mentioned we would need to put blinds on the upstairs windows but they don’t have to match the downstairs. My worry is, when we eventually want to sell, is it going to be an issue if the blinds downstairs are gray and the upstairs ones are white? The only ones that can be seen from the street are the upstairs ones if that’s a factor.

When should I be worried about extra sleepy/fussy 2 month old?

My baby girl will be 2 months old tomorrow and I’m not sure if this is just a normal thing for this age or if I should take her in to be seen but when getting up this morning, she was hard to wake up at around 10:30, when normally she’s wide awake and ready to start the day with us at 9, as that’s the usual wake up time. We took her downstairs and she napped for a little bit but she was fussy about it. Now all day it seems like she’s been extra fussy as if she’s overtired, and she’s been sleeping on and off. I can’t really tell but it feels like her cries have been a little different too, like more of a genuinely sad cry than her usually screaming if that makes sense.

Idk if I’m being extra paranoid or not but her next appt isn’t until Monday and I’m not sure if we should wait it out or take her in earlier.

Why is my newborn frantic and screaming at the boob?

I feel like I’m about to lose my mind. My baby is 5 weeks old and is growing increasingly frustrated while feeding. Sometimes she’ll be chill and then there are days like today where she constantly wants to eat and will be crying cause she’s hungry but as soon as I put her on the boob she starts screaming bloody murder and acting really frantic and just won’t latch. Sometimes I can sit her up and burp her and she’ll be okay after that but tonight she’s going insane.

I just put her down in her bassinet and put a paci in her mouth and she’s falling asleep so we’re okay for now. Is she just tired? Is she gassy? What do I even do when she’s screaming no matter what?

I feel like a horrible mom for being frustrated at her and also not being able to help. If it were just the cluster feeding that would be fine cause I’d at least be able to sit and watch something or read but I have to constantly be tending to her all day every day. This whole situation has me wanting to run away from home or go get half my head shaved just to feel like I have some control over something. Please help

Hookworm Diagnosis

Hi everyone, my 8 yr old pit/boxer mix (dog) was recently diagnosed with hookworm (vet found it in his feces sample during his annual check up). We’re in Georgia (US) and he is fixed and is about 55 lbs.

I was told that I shouldn’t be concerned about our other dog contracting it as long as we pick up the poop regularly, which we do about once a week. Both dogs are also on monthly heartgard. It completely slipped my mind to ask but we have a newborn in the home (about a month old) and now I’m worried that she’s going to contract it somehow. Is this even possible? How can I ensure my house is clean from any potential eggs? I’m trying to remember all the times I’ve pet him or let him lick me and if I remembered to wash my hands before touching my baby.

He has been itching his paws like crazy the past week or so but I assumed it was allergies as he usually has them pretty bad around this time of year. If the hookworm burrowed into his skin, would this mean he has been more easily able to track eggs throughout the house?

Anything to put my mind at ease would be very appreciated.

I’m due with my first in two weeks and I’ve been trying to figure out the finer details of my birth plan and I’ve been stuck on the delayed bath part. I’d like to delay it since it seems like there are a lot of benefits for baby but I’m not sure for how long. I’m mostly confused on what baby will actually look like unbathed lol like wouldn’t she be kinda gross and covered in afterbirth stuff too?

I’m imagining taking a crusty baby home and I’m not sure I love that idea 😂. I’ve heard some will do a light sponge bath before going home but does a sponge bath remove the beneficial vernix?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
