I’m a student looking for fun hobby-projects. I am currently in college and have been programming for about 4 years now. I begin to see lots of cool projects on instagram and want to make my own.

I want to know, which components i need and what you’d buy if you were me. I would rather not spend too much money, but hit me with the expensive parts if it is a good value.

Furthermore, any tips is appreciated to avoid the most annoying beginning mistakes, but don’t ruin important learning steps if any!

Hello reddit! I just started developing with electron and my first project will be a onenote-like app with different pages for different workflows. This will be the main feature for the app, and i would like to allow for users to code custom workflows by, at least allowing for all of the keybinds to be re-mapped and a lot of customization all round including custom layouts and so on.

I’m making this post, as i want suggestions and inspiration for more features to add. If you’ve ever sitten with word, excel, powerpoint or any other work-oriented app like the google counterparts of office 365 and wanted something to change, this is it! Here you can tell me, which feature(s) you would like the most in an app like this.

Recently i’ve been meaning to upgrade my pc. Realistically, i had 3 options:

1. Aesthetics: Fans, case and AIO
2. GPU: 3060 to 9070
3. Mobo: r5 5500 and 32gb ddr4 to newer platform

So i ruled out number one as the price to satisfaction-ratio didn’t cut it. I then wanted to do the GPU, but i realised i was actually satisfied with the FPS my system produces in the games i want to play. So at last, it’s option 3.

I want something that can perform in games, but also make general use on the computer feel snappy. I want quick browsing and opening of apps, i want not to worry about ram and also just have something more productivity-capable than my current gaming first cpu. I’m a programmer and software designer, so it’s not heavy tasks, i just wanted something that feels better.

I looked into 13700k and 14700k for the cores, boost clock speed and ddr4 support, and it seems promising but i don’t like not having upgrade paths.
There is of course the 7800x3d, but i’m not sure how it feels outside the games i play.

Hey reddit! I installed KDE on Pop!_OS today, and i wanted to edit the panels, however, the panel edit mode seems to be different from others? Is this how it’s supposed to look and work?

I just want the panel to not be full-sized, and act like a center dock. How do i do this?
