Which Eurydactylodes species should I get?
I plan on getting a Eury, but I'm stuck on which species I should get. I have both an 12x18 AND an 18x24 that I plan on putting it in either. Ik there really isn't much difference care wise, but which one would be the most at home in a 18x24?
THICC Tsuyu seems to be a new art trend now and I am 100% here for it~
He jumped down and landed on a sheet of paper towel is had in case he decided to use the bathroom so I decided to snap a Pic or two
What are your opinions on wooden cages that have Sealant was used at least 3 coats applied? What other questions should I ask?
Found a phenomenal deal on a 24x24x36 wooden enclosure on Facebook Marketplace and after chatting with the owner, they said they applied at least 3 coats of sealants on the enclosure while building it? Is that enough to quash any worry about humidity? The owner said that Humidity wise, it's aight, it gets the humidity up in the morning and it drops off later, which is important for Cresties anyway. So is this cage good or nah? What other factors do I need to consider?
What does an emaciated/skinny garg look like? Does Mushu look ok for his size?
He's already small for his age(11 months and he is 13g), but he's eating multiple flavors of CGD(including Pangea w/ Insects and Repashy Grubs n' Fruit) he's uninterested in Insects(I've tried)... what's a good base can I use to tell if my Garg is looking healthy?
Can I use a critter keeper as a sort of "baby grow out/quarantine" setup?
I intend on getting a Eury(still deciding on either E. Agricolae or E. Vieillardi) but I was advised to put a baby in a smaller set up to have it grow out into an adult cage(I have a 12x18 and a 18x24 that my Gargoyle gecko and Crested Gecko are currently using that i intend on using for the Eury into either one once i upgrade both into adult cages). I know plastic tubs are suggested and I have no issue getting them, but I'm wondering can a critter keeper be used for the same thing or are there issues with them?
Mushu FINALLY climbed onto my hand willingly. I also weighed him, he's 13g
Before I had to nudge him onto my hand to get him out of his cage. But today, I was doing the regular "hand in the enclosure" thing and Mushu- who was on the substrate doing a little bit of glass surfing- turned around and stuck his head in between the open space between the cage door and the side wall before actually walking onto my hand slowly. My jaw was on the floor when I saw that. Sadly my phone was charging so I couldn't take a pic, but I'm finally seeing progress on Mushu taking to choice based handling. I decided to weigh him while I got the chance, he wasn't too happy about that, so I decided to let him rum onto my hand again and let him chill for the next 25ish minutes. He was surprisingly tricky to get him to go BACK to his enclosure...
I did the "hand in the enclosure" desensitization tactic, I actually saw some progress
By slowly inching towards Mushu, he didn't immediately bolt and i was even able to get close enough to get him to lick my finger. And I also notice he doesn't bolt when I gently pet his back
What the minimum enclosure size for a single Adult Gargoyle gecko?
The minimum tank for a Crestie as of recent years is 18x18x36, are Gargs the same minimum or do they need a little bigger as a minimum?
To anyone who owns this brand of enclosure, are they any good?
Been considering upgrading Neeko from a 18x24 to something bigger, and I was browsing for enclosures that are affordable and found these? Are they any good? Should I even upgrade him at all or can an adult live in an 18x24 for his whole life?
He sploot
Handled Mushu again. Interestingly, I was able to stroke his back in his enclosure quite a few times, he only bolted when my hand brushed up against some foliage. It led to him running to the top and I started the handling session. Mushu seemed to calm down insanely quickly and even did a bit of splooting on my hand
When it comes to Reptivite Multivitamin(and other Multivitamin supplement), should i get that alongside the normal Calcium without D3 supplement, of can one replace the other?
Was scrolling through YouTube and I saw a Leopard Gecko with a Vitamin A deficiency and then I saw a video where someone was giving advice and I saw the Multivitamin supplement and it made me wonder, do you need BOTH the calcium supplement AND the Multivitamin supplement, or does one replace the other? Cuz i already have the Calcium without D3 supplement, just wanna know if i should add a multivitamin to my to get list? NOTE: I don't have a leopard gecko, I'm getting a Cave Gecko and I want to fully make a list of things I need to get.
Is it me, or is Mushu's eyes look like their turning blue?
Was chatting with Mushu's breeder like normal and they made an observation of Mushu's eyes are turning a bit blue, I KINDA see it, but at the same time, I'm not the best at noticing subtle colors, so they also still look silver...
Of all the places to fall asleep on🤣
Also it is me, or Does Mushu have light blue eyes???
Mushu's handling session continues
It started with me putting my hand in the enclosure for 3 minutes, he didn't bolt at all during that 3 minutes. IDK if I'm crazy but I think i got Mushu used to a routine where he climbs to the top, I open the mesh top and he crawls out. I still kinda have to nudge him to climb onto my hand, but it does still go somewhat smoothly. I handled him for like 13 minutes, and by the end he sorta relaxed his back legs.... is he splooting?
Mushu's handling desensitization continues...
How long did it take y'all to tame your Gargs down?
Neeko finally wanted to come out of his enclosure after 2 days of not being interested
Not sure if the behaviors was due to shedding, I haven't been able to keep track of him since he REALLY hides whenever he sheds now, and I don't see any leftovers finger sheds, but for the past 2 days Neeko hasn't wanted to come out of his enclosure at all, mostly just hid in the back of the cage.
Got to weigh him, he's 10g
For a Gecko that's almost a year old, is he just really tiny....
The desensitization continues
Once the lights turn off, i start by putting my hand directly in front of mushu for a few minutes or until he scurries off. I have been able to get him out by taking the top mesh off and letting him crawl the top and gently nudge him onto my hand. As I handle him, I gently pet his back and back of his head for a few seconds. So far, He's still a bit flighty when he sees my hand, but when i get him out and handle him, he calms down.
