People in Rapid have no Understanding of Right of Way

This is especially true with pedestrian traffic. They are always stopping in the middle of crosswalks and waving people through like they are some kind of traffic control guard. Just walk through the damn crosswalks and stop causing confusion and hesitation. 4 way stop signs are also terrible with people trying to wave others through. Just go in the order that you are supposed to, otherwise you will cause confusion and higher chances of an accident.

CX30 Accessory Mode

I just learned something new today about my cx30. I wanted to be able to roll my windows down while listening to music, without the vehicle chugging gas. If you press the start button once without your foot on the pedal, it will turn on the infotainment system, but nothing else. If you press it again without your foot on the brake, it will let you use the windows, but it also turns on the A/C system, but without engine power which seems kind of dumb. So now I have to turn it into accessory position to roll my window down, turn off my AC, then make sure I turn it back on before I shut the car off so my remote start will turn the AC back on when I get back in the car later.

It just seems kind of counterintuitive and I had to Google it to figure it out. Do all remote start vehicles operate this way?

New Sales Tax

What is everyone's thoughts on the new sales tax that will be implemented in Rapid City? It is supposed to be to pay for property taxes for people. It doesn't really seem right that the poorest people are going to effectively be helping pay for rich peoples houses. Sounds kind of backwards to me honestly. I feel like property taxes should increase in order to help pay for other necessary stuff like maybe finding a solution for the homeless.

AC Update and More Issues - Road trip edition

I recently made a post complaining about my AC in my new cx30. I just drove 2.5 hours in 100 degrees and it froze me out the entire time. It seems like the poor AC performance mainly happens when the vehicle is just idling in temps over 100F.

I did run into some other issues as well. The wipers seem like they are the worst wipers I've ever used in my life. They were just smearing the grasshopper guts around, even with using my washer fluid.

Next, I feel like I was chugging gas. I burned through 3/4 tank of premium in under 2.5 hours. I've heard it doesn't get great gas mileage, but I feel like it should have been better than that.

The one good thing I liked was the adaptive cruise control. That seemed to work really well and I didn't have to hit my brakes a single time until I got to my destination.

Now I stopped at my favorite Mexican place, and I'm about to max out before finishing the journey.

AC Never Gets Cold

Trying to figure out if my CX30 has a faulty AC or not without having to go to the service department. We've had some warm days recently, and it feels like my AC never gets cold, even if I have the vehicle running for over 30 minutes. It has less than 1000 miles, so I don't think it should be broken already. I've had vehicles from the 1980s with colder, stronger AC. Is this normal?

If it is normal, are there any fixes for it? Like maybe different chemicals to put in it or maybe an entirely new AC compressor? I don't picture it getting any better with time. It seems to work great for days that are like 70F, but above 100, it doesn't stand a chance.

App Issue - can't load investments in extended hours

I'm curious if anyone has had the same problem recently, it seems to have just started a few days ago. The phone is a Google pixel 10 xl.

I can load the main position tab to see all of my positions in my accounts fine, but when I click on an individual investment like an ETF, it will just try to load forever without success. So I can't see the after hours price on any of the investments or see any of the other details. As soon as the market opens, I am able to load individual investments and trade just fine.

I've tried a lot of things to fix it, from clearing my entire phones cache, closing everything, deleting the fidelity app cache, reinstalling the app, updating and rebooting my phone and the issue persists.

Lane Keep Assist - Dangerous Experience

I was just driving home from work, when I encountered a very dangerous setting on the CX30. There was a grandma that cut me off while I was going around 40mph, so I had to emergency merge into the adjacent lane to avoid having to slam on my brakes. When I started to merge, the steering wheel was almost yanked from my hands and tried to slam my vehicle into the car in front of me that cut me off. I was barely able to avoid the collision because of this.

After getting home and navigating the settings, I found that there is a setting called Lane Keep Assist and it was on by default. I turned it off now of course. I do see another setting in there for emergency braking, but I haven't experienced that yet, so I left it on. I'm thinking about turning that off too, I've never needed my vehicle to brake for me before.

Do people really use the lane assist feature? Did they really need to make it default because people can't stay in their lane? It seems like the most dangerous setting I ever experienced on any vehicle. I could see it work on like a Tesla or something that has fully autonomous driving, but for the vehicle to attempt to override my input seems unnecessary and sketchy.

Is this normal? Has anyone else had problems with this?

How to listen to music

I'm currently trying to learn how to operate this new 26 cx30 without much luck. I've wanted to test out the bose sound system, but the radio stations sound really bad on it with a lot of static. Then, I connected my phone via Bluetooth and tried playing music that way, but it was even worse. The Bluetooth connection isn't 100% consistent and makes a lot of popping and skipping, which is bad for the speakers. The vehicle doesn't have a CD player, which would be the best sound quality option.

How are you supposed to listen to music or any type of audio in these new vehicles? My old 2004 Pontiac literally sounded 10x better

Best Gas Station and Car Wash

If you had to pick only one gas station to go to for the next 5 years, who would it be? Bonus points for a good rewards system, lower than average gas prices, great car wash, and accessible location. Gas quality is also important, some stations have gas with no ethanol while others don't. Who is your favorite?

Are there any car washes that don't sell gas that you prefer over one at a gas station? Maybe a full service one that will also clean the inside of your vehicle.

Complete Zbrush Course

I am just starting out with Zbrush, and have watched over 100 hours of educational videos, and it is pretty overwhelming. Are there any paid courses or personal tutors that teach the entire Zbrush program? I'm basically looking for a course or multiple courses that go from 0 Zbrush knowledge, and takes you through every single function of the software until you can create highly complex, 500+ subtool scenes with texturing, materials, and everything.

It seems like most of the videos I've seen, only focus on a few small aspects of the program. It would be really nice to take a course that can teach you every single possible thing that can be done in Zbrush.

For background, I work as a 3d designer with traditional solid modelling and surface modelling software like inventor and rhino, but everything in Zbrush seems completely foreign. It's so annoying to look up everything that I want to do. My search history is full of stupid questions now like:

How to invert masks in Zbrush

How to import files from other software to Zbrush

How to apply texture to a single surface in Zbrush.

It's pretty frustrating honestly. I really like using the command line in rhino software, and it's very difficult to adapt to a new software that has no command line, but 1000 menus and hotkeys instead. With rhino, they also have a help page that shows you exactly how every single command functions, and they are grouped by lists of operations. Like if you want to edit curves, there is an entire section that shows every command that you can use to edit a curve. Is there anything like that for Zbrush?

Good leads for a 2026 carbon edition

Good morning,

I am currently looking at a 2026 carbon edition and I'm trying to get a dealer discount from my local dealer. They have like 6 of them and they are trying to charge over MSRP. I was wondering if anyone knows of somewhere that is offering dealer discounts that I could either purchase from or show my local dealer to try to convince them to give me a better deal.

How to get help without making things worse

Like the title says, I'm in a situation where I recognize that I probably need help, but I don't know where to start. I'll try to give some background info, as well as my concerns and hopefully someone reads this and has some advice.

I spent most of my childhood going to different therapists, psychologists, and other doctors while doing endless tests, scans, and communications. I quickly realized that none of them had the ability to do anything for me besides prescribing medications that had a lot of potential side effects. I easily learned how to just tell them what they wanted to hear so that I could go home and play pokemon. I stopped all therapy when I was around 10 years old.

I've been to the doctors for various other medical conditions in high school, and they weren't really able to do anything for me either, and I'm still suffering from a lot of the same conditions now.

I'm currently in my 30s and haven't been to any doctor or therapist since I was in high school. Recently, a lot of people I talk to, both in person and online, suggest that I seek mental help. I'm really hesitant, because I don't have confidence that they will be able to do anything meaningful for me to improve my life. My other concern is the cost of treatment and medication.

I'm currently employed full time, and I make right around the average wage for the area. I don't know how everyone is able to afford all this stuff. The average 1 bedroom apartment is close to 50% of the average monthly income for the area, factor in coat of inflation, vehicle and phone costs, and there's no money leftover to afford insurance or healthcare or insurance. I haven't had health insurance since I was on my mom's insurance in high school, which has also been a factor in not going to the doctors.

There are a lot of factors contributing to my negative mental health right now. First, I really need to move to a new apartment. My current apartment has a very high crime rate. There was an incident a few years ago where someone was stabbed in the apartment right next to me. I was sitting on my bed with my back against the wall, and the person was stabbed right on the other side of the wall. I could feel it actually happen. Now a few years later, there is still a big blood trail that is stained all the way down the hallways on the carpet that they won't clean. Pretty much every regulatory agency has been contacted and refuses to do anything about the situation. We also don't have hot water most of the time unless you use it in the middle of the night, so I had to start waking up at 3am just to take a warm shower so I can be ready for work by 7. My car has also been broken into 5 times since I moved in 3 years ago.

The only reason I've stayed in my apartment is because of the price, getting a new apartment will more than double my rent cost. I can't afford healthcare now, I definitely won't be able to afford it while paying double the rent.

It looks like I will exceed the character max, so I will post a comment with the rest of the info.

Talk me out of it

Good morning everyone.

I went to the local Mazda dealership yesterday to look at cx5s and cx50s. They ended up being slightly more expensive than I wanted to pay. The dealer then suggested I test out a cx30. The only model they have is a carbon edition and it looks really nice. It handles really well, but my main complaint is that the driver's area seems really small. My left knee hits the door panel where all the buttons are.

I would be trading in my older rav4 with around 100k miles. I can't decide if it's worth it to buy something new, or just fix up my rav4 and drive it until the wheels fall off

Any Good Real Estate Agent Recommendations

I'm looking to buy a house soon and just got pre-qualified for a mortgage. I am now ready to find a real estate agent and start home shopping.

I have a few specific things I am looking for. The first qualification is that I do not want to be attracted to the agent and have that influence my decision, so no attractive females, let's just say the agent will have to be male. Preferably also not attractive. Are there any average looking guys that sell houses? It seems like the field is dominated by attractive young women from what I can see.

I would also like to have some kind of reduced fee, or fixed cost from the agent. I would prefer paying a fixed cost, regardless of the final price of the house. This incentivises the agent to help me find a house, rather than trying to get me to spend the most money.

Last, I would require someone with patience. I suffer from mental health issues and can't handle being constantly hounded and pushed. I want to move at my own pace, and have the agent willing to take things slow. It could potentially take me like 3 years to find the right place, and I don't want the agent to try to get me to look at 5 houses every week.

Places to Rent in Rapid

I'm currently looking for a new place to live and I've run into a wall. I currently have a large dog and my credit isn't great. It looks like every rental I see has credit requirements and prohibits large dogs and smoking. The credit requirements are usually higher than what's required to get a mortgage, which I've been approved for.

I'm just looking for a place to live for a few years with my dog until I can afford to buy my own house. Anyone have recommendations?

I'm currently looking for the best way to save money on food. The major issue I run into, is that a lot of the best hacks require having access to certain equipment. I'm specifically looking for the cheapest foods that do not require having access to electricity, like needing to use a fridge/freezer or an oven and microwave.

I've eaten approximately 3000 peanut butter sandwiches in the past few years and it's starting to get old and more expensive than I would like. The food doesn't necessarily have to taste good, but it must provide enough carbs and protein at the bare minimum. Other vitamins would be a bonus. I suffer from severe oral allergies, which make me allergic to basically all raw fruits and vegetables, so those are all pretty much off the table.

I wish I could just buy a tube of paste that has enough nutrition for an entire day for less than $1/day. I was looking into a brand called plumpy nut, but I'm not sure how much more peanut I can tolerate. Sorry if this has been asked 100 times before. But does anyone have any good recommendations?
