Delivered just an hour ago...

Finally got a Onefold Alox and a Farmer X Alox.

They are SOLID.

Love the aluminum scales and I am happy to finally have a real punch/reamer like on my old Boy Scout knives. This Farmer X Alox is going to become a favorite.

Didn't realize these are 93 mm and the main spear point blades are proportionately larger, too. The reverse locking mechanism (reverse from the locking tab those of us familiar with TL-29 lineman's knives are used to) on the Onefold is actually pretty solid and I use my left thumb to push it open and my right hand to slowly close the blade. Works fine and safely, as long as I take my time. I am able to open the blade just using the tips of my thumb and forefinger to pinch the blade and pull it open without engaging the nail nick.

I'd been looking for a more minimalist approach to EDC, and I usually carry my Sears Craftsman Lumberjack camp knife. But after I saw an advert for James Brand's Ellis single blade, I thought I'd go ahead and try a single-blade, too. Glad I picked this one.

Both knives recommended!

Corkscrews?

I just purchased a Victorinox Climber and it, of course, has a corkscrew. I bought my first Victorinox back in 1984 because it specificaly did NOT have a corkscrew: a Grand Prix.

What do you use the corkscrew for if not for wine bottles? Thanks for your suggestions and comments!

Two Camilllus TL-29s

I've had the carbon steel version for a number of years and purchased the stainless steel version just a couple of years ago. The carbon steel came with a nick in the edge I've been trying to work out but it's still there. It's still sharp as a razor, though.

Been carrying my favorite Case this past week...

This is my 1975 Case 2231 1/2 SAB Heavy Jack, or as I call it my Slick Black Jack. This thing's backspring is heavy and it snaps shut like a gator. It has been an almost constant pocket companion over the years and it has stayed amazingly sharp with very little need to touch up the edge. May not be as flashy as some others but it gets the job done.

Small lanyard split rings

Does anyone have a source for these 12mm split rings? I've been looking online but can't find any links in the United States. Need a couple for replacement and one for my Wenger SwissBuck.

Thanks for your help!

Just bought two new companions for my 1984 Grand Prix:

A Deluxe Tinker and a Recruit! The Deluxe Tinker is the closest current iteration of the Grand Prix but even better with the pliers, in my opinion.

And the little Recruit is going to be an everyday favorite, I can already tell. Just waiting on a couple lanyards for the new ones (my Grand Prix does not have a slip ring/lanyard attachment).
