I-Eloop blowing up Alternators

2017 2.2 Diesel (because I don't like money)

7 months ago I replaced my alternator after the the bearing in the pulley detonated, replaced with an Aftermarket unit.

1 month ago I got an Error / Warning - Charging system malfunction, park vehicle where safe and report to dealership. My mechanic diagnosed it as a faulty alternator, replaced the alternator again and I'm back in business.

Anyway, didn't drive it for 2 weeks then last week I went to start the car and "Warning - Charging system malfunction" - fuck. On the back of the tow truck back to the mechanic.

This time the alternator is fine, however the fuse has blown between the i-Eloop system and the battery. Indicating a fault in the system that's not showing up an error code. The mechanics thinking is that instead of the fuse blowing last time, it just blew up the alternator instead (joy $$)

Anyone out there experienced similar? What was the root cause of the issue?

The mechanic is having an Auto Elec look into it, as his diagnostic tool won't talk to the i-Eloop system.

Hockey Club Shirt Concept

Hi Designers, my (field) Hockey Club is contemplating a new Logo and player shirts along with some new merch. We've been arround since 1923 where the first uniform was a bottle green shirt, fawn tunic, green sash, and green socks. The club colours where changed when mens and womens clubs merged in the 80s, becoming Sky & Navy Blue.

I used Corel Draw to design the new crest, incorporating all 4 club colours, along with a shirt design. Then used Gemini AI to create the mock ups.

Any comments from those who know better than i do?

Unpopular Opinion - There's too much international Hockey.

Before you come with your downvotes, yes this is inspired by the FIFA world cup. I've also been playing and watching hockey for 29 years...

There's too much International Hockey

Teams pulling out of Pro League & Nations cup due to cost of travel to the events. The pro league doesn't mean anything really in the scheme of things, the World Cup & Olympics are our sports pinnacle events.

We have leagues that are growing around the world, with Europe having their Euro Hockey League as their pinnacle club league, Hockey One in Aus, India Hockey League etc.

I think Hockey should cut down to a World Cup & Olympics only.

World cup with 20 Teams in 5 groups, going straight to a knock out format. We have 5 Continental associations, totalling 140 member nations. I'd propose a world cup with the following qualification spots. Europe 6, Asia 5, Americas 4, Africa 2, Oceania 2, with a playoff between 3rd place African & 3rd Oceania for the 20th spot.

This would allow for "minnows" from each contental association to compete against the bigger teams. Who says Hockey can't have its own Cabo Verde or Curacao moment?

I'd also propose implementation of Footballs u23 rules for Olympic & Commonwealth Games, this would keep the World Cup as the pinnacle for the sport, whilst giving a range of upset options to occur at the Olympics & Com Games.

Sticker Set from Custom Cages

If any of my fellow goalies have wanted to personalise their helmet, I picked up a sticker set from Custom Cages in Canada.

Helmet is a Mazon XR ABS in black, its pretty much a Bauer design. Similar to Mercian?

Cons: Took over 1 month for shipping, via Netherlands for some reason? The ridges on the top of the helmet are difficult to get the vinyl to work around.

Pros: fairly decent range of designs available, they will do custom work. Fairly easy to install. I imagine a helmet with a smoother surface, such as the OBO ABS or Gryphon Sentinel it would be a lot easier.

The kit was on 4 sheets, the large Yellow stripe on the top with the pin stripes on each side is 1 sticker, same with the white stripe next to it. The White & Yellow > Shaped lines on the bottom left are 1 piece. The yellow V at the front is one piece with the 6 a separate sticker. The white stripe on either side of the chin comes as 2 pieces. The big stripes at the top come with spares, they're probably the most difficult to get right. You get 2 sets of numbers.

Am I happy with the end result? Yeah I think it came out pretty good. Though if I wanted to go again, I might order a custom kit.

41m, 181cm 105kg, grazed leg

Played field hockey on the weekend, fell / slid over on the new artificial turf. Wound has been weeping fairly constantly.

I have been covering with a pad with Savlon cream on the pad, cotton bandage over that, then elastic bandage over that. I've just had it open to dry a bit today as I haven't gone to work.

I've been wiping the wound after I remove the old dressing with antibacterial wipes before a shower. Then redressing the wound

Been using Paracetamol & Ibuprofen to sleep.

Is there anything else I can do to speed up the healing process? No hockey this weekend, but I'm going to be wanting to be back next weekend. Next game is in 10 days.
