Looking at grabbing an Akubra Riverina Straw for the heat, but wanted to check two quick things first.
Maybe someone already owns one?
How does the straw version hold up to regular wear compared to the felt version?
Is it true to size against the felt version ?

Looking for some advice on which direction to go for my next shoe.
I already own a pair of Nike Pegasus 42s as my main daily drivers, but I have the opportunity to pick up either the Vomero 18 or the Vomero Plus for the exact same price.
I’m not a runner.
These will be only for casual daily use like office wear, driving, shopping, and walking around the city and other casual walks.
I’m 188cm (6'2") and 89kg (196 lbs). A lot of gym weight, but also powered by potato chips and ice cream. 😂

I’m completely new to the Birkenstock scene.
I had a pair as a kid in the early 80's, but for the longest time after that, people (me included) thought of them as a bit of a "tree-hugger" shoe.
No offense intended at all—that’s just how they were seen around here.
Lately, I’ve noticed the hype is absolutely massive.
Before I jump on the bandwagon, I’ve gotta ask:
Why did they become so incredibly popular all of a sudden?
Are they actually worth the cash for comfort and durability?
