Which one word would describe Alan Wake 2 for you

For me it is "Surreal". It reminds me of a movie I watched years ago, named "Mullholand Drive".

I wonder like which realm is Real here. The Dark Place ?.. No, the NYC.. the Bright Falls or Watery or Cauldron Lake ?.. or Are they also unreal.. maybe some bad dream.. maybe some realms are between Real and Unreal.. I am just mesmerized by the awesome storytelling. I already played Alan Wake original and this one just takes it further and makes it a masterpiece.

Btw I am about to start Saga's point of no return and already played Alan's story till the point he needs to get access to locked Parliament Tower

In the middle of nowhere

Tips for installing Linux distros on my Asus Tuf F15

Need some advice. Planning to install few Linux distros alongside Windows 11 on my Asus Tuf F15 (Ryzen 7 7435 HS, RTX 3050). I would like to install Fedora, Mint and Arch. I have a 2nd NVME which I will use for this. Can I go ahead with this setup. What should I be aware of before starting and if there are any other suggestions you may have.

** I will not use Linux for gaming. This will be used more to stay in touch with the OS. I have other gaming devices for playing games

App to capture game recording on XP

Looking for some suggestions. I am looking for any free application to record gameplay video on XP. Is there any that you suggest?

The app should not impact the game performance too much. Btw I don't have an external capture card which I can use.

Thornton, Mulligan too difficult

Just wanted to know what you guys feel about this. I am stuck again in Alan Wake 2. This time, unable to beat Thornton and Mulligan. I have lowreded the difficulty to Story Mode. Yet these two bosses proving to be too difficult.

Now I am not whining. Boss fights are supposed to be difficult. I have been playing games since 2001. I am near 50 and my reflexes have gotten blunt quite a bit. Maybe that's the reason.

Did you guys faced the same while playing this part of the game? Just wanted to hear your story..

Btw I am currently stuck also at Dead Space leviathan boss fight (2nd appearance). Guess I am getting too old.. 😆

Update: 18Jun26 Hello everyone...I was able to beat Thornton and Mulligan. I figured out somewhat of a better way. The trick that I used is that I turned off my torch light. It made it harder for T&M to track me. When I got a kill of Thrnton I guess, he would drop ammo, so I was not out of ammo. I destroyed all the orbs by using I guess 2.5 full battery packs. Difficulty level was Story mode though. In between had to use some medkits.

Now I am back in the game. End of Chapter and moving to next one !!!

Is this Undervolt and Fan Curve ok for Sapphire 9060 XT

First time tried at undervolting my Sapphire 9060 XT, along with a custom fan curve. Tested with DeadSpace Remake. Getting hotspot temp of 83 C and VRAM temp of ~ 81 C. I am getting close to 90 FPS at 2K native with High settings. I can further reduce these temps by applying Radeon chill. I don't need more than 70 FPS for this title. Could you please see the settings and let me know if this is ok or can I go a bit further. Also if anything else I should try other than just the undervolt. Btw it's summer now and ambient temperature is around 30 C.

This is my 3rd and latest Windows XP build. Last time seeing the results with onboard HD Graphics 3000, I was tempted to build one with HD Graphics 4000. This is the result.

Specs: (this is a pure budget build as you can see from below component list)

CPU: i5 3570K ~ 17 USD

Graphics: HD Graphics 4000 -- Nil

RAM: 2 x 2GB DDR3 1600 MHz ~ 9 USD

Motherboard: Intel H61 generic mobo ~ 17 USD

Cabinet (came with 450w PSU): Local brand ~ 27 USD

CD/DVD writer: Lite-On ~ 9 USD

Storage: 500 GB Seagate Laptop HDD 5400 rpm

Monitor: using the Samsung Odyssey G5 2K, which I use with all my other PCs

Tested with few games from early XP era. Result is pretty good. Used 720p resolution at High settings. Got ~ 60 FPS or even higher in all games.

I can certainly look for a good PCIe graphics card from that era, but with the performance I am getting from HD Graphics 4000 on i5 3570k, I am really at two minds.

Btw, I bought the i5 3570k specifically because I wanted to test the performance of the HD 4000 iGPU and I am not disappointed.

Let me know if you like it..
