My painting of Elphelt. There isn't a single thought in this head... empty, like the vast void of outer space.
Remains of living machines (art by me, for a personal project)
Looking at Tokon and 2XKO gameplay really made me appreciate GGST's "low framerate animation" filter so much more, lack of this feature makes those games look much worse in comparison.
Been seeing a lot of 2XKO and Tokon lately, and despite animation quality for those games not really being low at all, I feel like smooth 60FPS makes those animations look so weightless and flat compared to Strive's. All Tokon characters end up looking like plastic toys to me, because it's cartoony comic-book art style just doesn't really fit with perfectly smooth animations.
Meanwhile Strive tries to emulate traditional 2D animation by making all animations intentionally "choppy", which also pairs so well with fighting games' usual hitstop, since it ends up looking just like part of animated action and "impact frames". The way Arcsys makes their 3D models constantly "breathe" and move at all times also looks so much better with that lowered animation framerate.
Because of that, even though Tokon is a brand new game, I still feel like Strive ends up looking better anyways. I always felt like it's an odd choice for such an aggressively comicbook-styled game, especially after Spiderverse started a trend of using low framerate as a way to convey comic action in animated media.
Goddamn, Strive is such a good-looking game.
Xrd costume Asphalt fan-art (drawing by me)
I dunno, recently picked her up in Strive as a secondary to play against my friends when they pick new characters, but now they maybe hate me even more tbh, but I do honestly like her Xrd Rev2 look more, probably.
Fellas, I might say that I'm a tiny bit upset about another guest character, slightly annoyed even
Seriously though, for fuck's sake, please stop with this shit, having random characters from different properties in the game with such neatly focused visuals is so ass, why does everything need to turn into fucking fortnite with these fuckass crossovers.
"Why would we add Guilty Gear characters into Guilty Gear, when we must add Ragnar the Bloodcringe from generic anime version of Guilty Gear, to have a generic anime version of Sol? Wouldn't it be awesome?"
I just really hate how crossovers destroy the integrity of cool media in general, and it quite sad to see it happen to GGST. Please stop it, mr. Arcsys... Can we just... focus on adding guilty gear characters next, maybe?

I can't recreate vibrant color of Perceptual mix mode demos
After seeing the cool demos of perceptual mixing mode I tried recreating them exactly, but my result doesn't look nearly as vibrant and exciting as the demos. There is a difference, so it works, but it's just not nearly as cool looking as demos.
Am I doing something wrong? Or are demos misleading? I color picked my colors from demo screenshots.
I just wanted to leave this one somewhere, unfortunately for everyone.
I apologize for making this.
