Caught feelings for my best friend after we decided not to date

I met a guy on Grindr and we started dating for a bit. It was going really well. The sex was great, we had a really good time together and just clicked.

But after a while we both realised we probably wouldn’t be the healthiest couple. I’m much more into peace and quiet, chilled evenings, etc. He’s more into gay parties, the big gay clubs with darkrooms, thirst traps on IG and all of that. We’re just pretty different when it comes to that side of life.
So we stopped dating, but somehow ended up becoming really close friends. Honestly, I’d probably call him my best friend now.

We both live in London but we’re originally from different countries, and I think that also made us connect a lot. We spend loads of time together and have got really close.
And now I’ve started catching feelings again.

I have no idea what to do with it. If I tell him, there’s a chance I mess up one of the best friendships I have. But keeping it to myself also feels a bit shit when we’re spending so much time together.

And obviously, all the reasons we decided not to date are still there.

I’m not really looking for the usual “just communicate” advice. I’d rather hear from people who’ve actually been in a similar situation.

Did you say something? Did it ruin the friendship? Did you end up together? Or were you glad you kept quiet?
What would you do?

Every week someone on here posts about wanting to meet people. Made me wonder though - if someone actually said “let’s grab a drink this Friday,” how many of you would actually show up?

27M, genuinely curious. Who’s around my age and would be down?

Are there many gay guys in London who don’t really go to parties like Roast or Feel It?

I’m 27 and, while I get why people enjoy them, that scene just isn’t really for me. I’d much rather do something like a weekend hike, a walk, beer outside, or something a bit more relaxed.

Where do you guys meet like-minded people in London?
