Recently came across a thread from a few years ago and dove into a rabbit hole of cool stuff Manhattan and the other boroughs have that’s just around and show parts of history.

Example the fallout shelter signs you see around are from the Cold War.

Or the owl statues with eyes that light up in Herald Square, a cool little feature.

Or the 23 Wall Street bomb marks from 1920 that are still there, in what was the JPMorgan building at the time.

Stuff like that. Post it here, I love this stuff

I feel like this website, especially self help subs, is filled with doomers who complain but don’t put in any effort to improve their lives.

I’ve been repeatedly downvoted on self help subs when I try and tell people how to unfuck their lives (like I’ve done myself) however my answers are real and require daily effort and that seems to rub people the wrong way, since the majority of Redditors just want validation from other losers. They literally bond over being losers.

The other day this askreddit forum was “how to deal with depression” the top voted comment was “you can’t”. What type of mindset is that. And that’s just one example.

Whatever . I’m just ranting

Edit: some more context. I once posted onto a self help sub r / adulting saying that people simply need to fix their lifestyle up to get out of depression, which requires eating healthy and going to the gym and improving your looks with hair styling skincare routine and what not. I mentioned that a lot of them are depressed but these changes can help and they should try that before medicine. That post got downvoted to hell and I got multiple angry DM’s and people started going through my post history digging up dirt from years ago. It was retarded

People on X seem to react in a much more positive way to stuff I say. Which is funny bc X doesn’t have that great of a reputation either haha.
