Work trip to Copenhagen with leadership team - afternoon/evening work outings?

Hi all,

I'll be visiting Copenhagen for the first time with my leadership team. We arrive Tuesday morning (October 27) after an overnight flight and will likely spend some time resting and recovering at the Tivoli Hotel before heading back out later in the day for meals and light activities.

We're looking for recommendations for:

  • Lunch near the city center
  • A fun but work-appropriate afternoon activity (Castle tour? Escape room? Canal tour?)
  • Dinner for a small leadership group (6 people)

One idea I had was Tivoli Gardens, especially since it looks like it'll be decorated for Halloween, which sounds pretty unique and fun. For those familiar with Copenhagen, would Tivoli Gardens be appropriate for a leadership/team outing, or does it lean more toward families and tourists? I'm also cognizant of the time of year and being outside - i.e., it will get darker (and cooler) earlier.

If Tivoli is a good option, I'd also love recommendations for how you'd structure the afternoon/evening. For example:

  • Explore the gardens and enjoy the Halloween displays
  • A drink somewhere inside Tivoli
  • Dinner either in Tivoli or nearby
  • Maybe a few rides, or skip the rides altogether?

We don't need anything overly formal, but we're looking for a memorable Copenhagen experience that works well with colleagues and encourages conversation.

Open to any other suggestions as well, whether that's canal tours, food experiences, cultural attractions, or uniquely Danish activities.

Thanks!

Struggling with kitten introductions to a skittish resident cat (11F) — kitten won't respect her boundaries under the couch!

TLDR: We’re trying to introduce two 4.5-month-old kittens (bonded siblings, M/F) to our resident cat (11F), who is extremely skittish and uses under our couch as her safe space. We did 2 weeks of separation, then 2 weeks with a screen barrier, and things seemed to be progressing slowly. Now that the kittens are starting to explore the house, our resident cat retreats under the couch and hisses. The male kitten keeps following her under there and won’t back off, despite her clear warnings. We’re worried interactions under the couch may be escalating, but we can’t easily separate them because our resident cat is so fearful and hard to handle. The kittens are increasingly restless after a month of confinement. Any advice on how to keep the resident cat feeling safe while helping the kittens get more freedom?

Hi all,

We're looking for some advice because we feel like we've hit a wall with introducing our two new kittens to our resident cat.

We have two bonded kittens (brother and sister, about 4.5 months old) and an 11-year-old resident female cat. Our resident cat has always been extremely skittish and anxious. Her primary safe space is in/under our couch, and that's where she tends to retreat whenever she's stressed.

We've been trying to do introductions the "right" way. The kittens stayed in a separate room with the door closed for about 2 weeks (scent swaps started immediately). After that, we installed a screen barrier and have been doing visual introductions through the screen for another 2 weeks.

At first, our resident cat basically refused to even come upstairs where the kittens were. Over time, though, she slowly started approaching them through the screen. There was a decent amount of hissing, but she kept coming back and gradually getting closer, which felt like progress.

The challenge is that the kittens have now been with us for over a month and are desperate to explore the rest of the house. Because our resident cat is so skittish (and incredibly fast), it's very difficult to confine her somewhere else so the kittens can have supervised time in the house without her around.

The few times we've let the kittens out, our resident cat has hissed at them and then retreated under the couch. We try to keep the kittens occupied and encourage them to leave her alone, but our male kitten is especially persistent. Twice now, he's followed her under the couch and won't stop trying to interact with her, even while she's hissing at him. We can't see exactly what's happening under there, but it sounds intense and feels like things escalate.

I don't think the kitten is being aggressive. He seems more like an overly enthusiastic baby who wants to play and has zero understanding of boundaries. Unfortunately, he also seems completely incapable of taking "no" for an answer.

Now we're feeling stuck. The kittens are becoming more restless every day being confined, but our resident cat seems unable to relax when they're loose, especially if they can access her safe space.

For those who have introduced high-energy kittens to a very timid senior cat:

  • Should we be preventing all under-the-couch interactions?
  • Would it help to block access under the couch so our resident cat's safe space can't be invaded?
  • Are we moving too fast, or does this sound like fairly normal kitten behavior during introductions?
  • Any tips for helping a skittish resident cat maintain confidence while giving the kittens more freedom?

We're worried about creating negative associations for our resident cat, but we're also struggling with two kittens who are rapidly outgrowing a single-room setup.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Additional required information:

  • Resident humans: me (37F) & fiance (39M)
  • Country: US (NJ)
  • Financial situation: we can afford vet care
  • Cat tax attached!

Two 16-Week-Old Kittens + Senior Resident Cat + Unexpected Room Change... What Would You Do?

Hi all,

Looking for some advice on our current kitten situation.

We have two bonded littermates (16 weeks old) that we brought home last Monday. We also have an 11.5-year-old resident cat. Following the standard slow introduction advice, we've been keeping the kittens isolated in a spare bedroom while everyone adjusts.

The challenge is that the kittens are, understandably, getting increasingly antsy. They're full of energy and clearly want to explore more of the house.

To complicate things, my father is coming to stay with us this Friday for about 5-7 days, and he'll need the spare bedroom they're currently occupying. The kittens won't be spayed/neutered for another two weeks, so we're not quite at the point where we're comfortable giving them unrestricted access to the entire house and resident cat.

Our current options seem to be:

Option 1: Move them to our bedroom

  • Pros: They'd still be near us and in a normal living space.
  • Cons: They're extremely active and would almost certainly keep us awake all night.

Option 2: Set up a kitten area in the basement

  • Pros: We'd have more room to create a larger safe space.
  • Cons: The room has no windows, and we'd need to build some kind of barrier because the rest of the basement contains HVAC equipment, lots of nooks and crannies, and other things I don't want curious kittens getting into.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Would a temporary basement setup for a week be okay if it's kitten-proofed and we spend plenty of time with them? Or would moving them to our bedroom be the better choice, despite the inevitable sleep deprivation?

Also curious whether, at 16 weeks old and after having them for a little over a week, it would be reasonable to start allowing some supervised exploration of other parts of the house while continuing the introduction process with our senior cat.

Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated! Thanks. 🐾

Hershey Lodge + Sunday Tickets Questions (Preview Plan & Parking)

Hi all,

We have Hersheypark tickets for this Sunday, and we're staying at Hershey Lodge on Saturday night so we maximize the resort benefits.

I have two questions I'm hoping someone can help confirm:

  1. Saturday Night Preview Plan
    • The website says the Preview Plan starts at 8 PM for general guests and 7 PM for resort guests.
    • Since we're staying at Hershey Lodge, can someone confirm that officially count us as a resort guest, meaning we can enter at 7 PM on Saturday (and also leverage the shuttle for that night as well)?
  2. Parking on Checkout/Park Day
    • We're planning to use the Lodge shuttle to the park on Sunday.
    • Since checkout is Sunday morning, are we allowed to leave our car parked at Hershey Lodge after checking out while we're at the park for the day, then return to get it later that evening?

I checked the website and saw that Hershey Lodge is an Official Resort of Hersheypark and includes Preview Plan and park shuttle benefits, but I couldn't find a clear answer on the parking-after-checkout question. Thanks!

First-Time Hersheypark Visit (July 26) – Resort vs Marriott, Early Access, Fast Track, and Staying Over?

Hi everyone,

We're (potentially) planning our first-ever trip to Hersheypark and hoping to get some advice from those who know the park well.

Current plan is to visit on Sunday, July 26, and we're trying to decide the best approach.

A few questions:

  1. Lodging - Hersheypark resort vs. Marriott
    • For context - we live in NJ ~2.5 hours away, and would be traveling there Saturday for a Sunday park visit.
    • Is it worth staying at one of the official Hershey resorts (Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge, etc.) versus a nearby Marriott?
    • What are the biggest benefits you've found from staying on-property?
  2. Early Access
    • If we stay Saturday night at a Hershey resort, do we get early access on Sunday morning?
    • What time should we plan to arrive at the park gates for the best "rope drop" experience?
  3. Fast Track Unlimited
    • We're considering purchasing Fast Track Unlimited passes.
    • For a summer Sunday, would the combination of Fast Track + early access make the day pretty manageable crowd-wise? (Crowd calendar predicts "orange" status at ~60% capacity)
    • Is Fast Track Unlimited worth the cost, or would regular/one-time Fast Track be sufficient?
  4. Staying Sunday Night
    • Since we live ~2.5 hours away, we're debating whether to drive home Sunday evening after our visit, or stay Sunday night at a Marriott nearby.
    • For those who've done both, is it worth staying the extra night?
    • What's the park like at night?
    • Are crowds noticeably lighter for major coasters in the last few hours before closing?
    • Any must-do rides or areas that are especially good after dark?

Any other tips for a first-time visit would be greatly appreciated. We're trying to maximize the experience without overpaying for perks we may not need.

Thanks! 🍫🎢

New phone, photomojis gone

EDIT: Photomojis are back for me as of this morning! Guess I just had to be patient! 🤩

Hey all. Got a new Samsung Galaxy S26+ to replace my S22, tried to respond to my fiancé good morning text with our usual photomoji exchange and realized the feature was gone. He has an S24, and we've been using photomojis for over a year. New phone doesn't have the ability to respond to others' RCS messages with photomoji, and I can't add a photomoji image as an individual text - the option has just disappeared. Joined beta this evening to see if that changed anything but nope.

Anyone else having issues with this? How can I get back my beloved photomojis? 😭

Photomoji limits

Hi all,

My fiancé and I both have Android phones and love using Google Messages, specifically for the photomoji function.

One thing I'm not super fond of with the function is how the system will automatically delete (seemingly random) photomojis when someone sends you one and you're at your limit... not sure the rhyme or reason for how it selects which ones to delete, but whatever, it usually works itself out.

Today we realized that I have a limit of 45 in my "bank", while he only has 26. I recall at one time early on I had fewer available, but I've had the same limit for like over a year. Neither of us have pending app updates.

Has anyone else experienced this, or can help me understand the discrepancy? Thanks!

(Central NJ) unresponsive property manager and lease is almost up

Hi all,

I have been at my current place for 2 years, our (2nd one-year) lease is up at the end of July. I have been unhappy here pretty much since we moved in (the place is not cared for, floor creaks, walls not patched/painted from last tenant... the long list goes on), but we are ultimately looking to purchase a home so it seemed easier to stay here until we are ready to go through that process. That said, home prices and APRs are skyrocketing, so its been hard to actually execute on this.

We have never actually met the landlord, we deal with a property manager, who responds about 25% of the time we reach out, and of that 25%, follows through maybe 30% of the time. We have about 3 different phone numbers he's texted us from (one time he claimed he didnt respond because he shares the phone with his partner?). We definitely want to move, but so far, no other rentals have worked out.

Per our lease agreement: "Not less than 90 days before the expiration of the Term of this Lease, the Landlord shall notify the Tenant of the proposed terms for the renewal Lease. Within 15 days after the Tenant receives the Landlord's renewal notice, Tenant shall notify Landlord whether Tenant accepts or rejects the proposed renewal Lease. If the Tenant does not notify the Landlord of Tenant's acceptance, then the Landlord's proposal shall be considered to have been rejected. If the Tenant does not accept the renewal Lease, the Tenant must vacate the Property at the end of the Term."

- the Property Manager (PM) reached out April 15 (~T-100 days) to my partner only, even though we are both on the lease) asking if we wanted to renew. He put the wrong lease end date in the subject (June 30 instead of July 31) so my partner responded correcting that and adding me in. Did not respond about renewal and we didnt hear back from PM.

- PM reached back out June 4 (~T-50 days) following up asking if we wanted to renew, no renewal terms included. I immediately responded asking for this. PM did not respond.

- I followed up on June 14 (T-46 days) asking again for the updated lease terms. PM responded the next business days (T-45 days) saying he's traveling and will try to get back to us within 1-2 business days. We have not heard back from him as of today (T-40 days).

Obviously this guy is a poor communicator to say the least, and we are well beyond the 90 day minimum, so I want to make sure we are not held responsible in any way if we do end up moving. We do not have contact details for the owner, so we cant just reach out ourselves to understand new terms. Regardless of our decision, I fully want to wait our 15 day period to let them know. Honestly, at this point, I'm hoping we do move so we can leave them high and dry, but trying to remain calm and ensure we're in the clear not taking action.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
