Should I remove some of the braid if I'm tying a fluorocarbon leader?

Got this Daiwa Ninja reel today that came pre-spooled, looks like it's spooled to the absolute maximum with no room for a leader. Looking to add an 8ft leader (about the length of the rod), sea fishing for bass mostly.

Spanish café.

£8.75 without black pudding, that's £1.5 extra, it's Spanish black pudding spiced like chorizo and it's lovely. Toast and butter included, out of frame.

Passed 2nd time.

Well chuffed with my pass yesterday. It's a tremendous achievement for me to pass at the tender age of 35 as I've always been anxious about driving and honestly disliked everything about cars, but you just can't argue with the benefits being able to drive provides.

I've overcome my arch nemesis-double mini roundabouts and impressed myself with how I overtook one of those cement mixer lorry things. Very happy about not receiving any minors due to signaling, mirrors or speed.

The control-steering faults are warranted as I was incredibly nervous to the point my hands were shaking on the wheel and I did come out a bit wobbly on a few roundabouts, even giving the kerb a light tap at one point.

I absolutely tried to harakiri myself during the reverse bay parking exercise, the examiner left this to the very end of the test back at the testing centre, the position coming into the car park is pretty awkward and I made a very poor decision to park near one of the other candidates who came back from their test. Parked within the bay in the end, having made an adjustment.

I think I got very lucky with my instructor, who was just fantastic all around and we're planning to go fishing together!

If I was to offer advice to learners I would say focus on safety and confidence during your test and think of it as showing off what you've learned.

2nd screenshot is my first attempt, which I admit-I was not adequately prepared for.

Selling my round bottomed Oxenforge wok.

I've listed it on Ebay UK for £100 if anyone is interested, it's used but like new condition as these things are indestructible. Round bottomed didn't quite work for me so I got myself the flat bottomed version.

Smoked chicken thighs with coleslaw, jalapeno and cheese cornbread and Carolina mustard BBQ sauce.

All put together in about 2 hours. Cornbread and sauce recipes are pretty much the first short videos that come up on Youtube. Chicken smoked on Weber kettle with coal baskets in the middle, used Weber briquettes and sprinkled in soaked apple wood chips until happy with colour. Temp kept around 200°C until all thighs registered over 80°C. Just salt, pepper, garlic on the chicken, seasoned under skin and and on the skin, skin trimmed. Coleslaw was pretty much whatever I had in the fridge-cabbage, carrot, apple, fennell, onion, parsley, tarragon, dressed with lemon juice, red wine vinegar, mayonnaise and a tiny bit of mustard, salt and pepper to taste+celery salt. Easy peasy and delicious, no need to buy sauces and rubs. Admittedly I dried out the bread a little bit, but it still tasted great.

After being out about 6 times in different local spots I had my first catch yesterday, 6 smallish bass over the last 2 days. I've tried a few lures including soft plastic, top water, but the only thing that worked was my rusty dexter wedge that I cast to check my knots are okay!
