Why has the Z-95 Headhunter stayed in service?

They’ve participated in clone wars, the Galactic Civil War, and the New Republic, and I’m surprised that even after all that time, they are still in use. I’ve wondered what makes them so reliable and so widely adopted across the galaxy and it's not like there aren't ships that are way better than them.

Before the rebels had the starfighters that we all know what starfighters did they use before?

I’ve always wondered what they used before they acquired all of their well-known ships. I know that in Legends they used the R-41 Star Chaser and the Z -95 headhunter in legends, but that’s kind of it.

does anyone know how to get this piece out of the socket

I left my Megatron toy on the bed and it fell and his cannon broke off, but a piece got stuck inside. Any suggestions on how to get it out?
