My brain and body connection end at Dance

I can visualize the movements. I can visualize my body doing the moves. I take that visualization and send it to my limbs to do what I envisioned. Suddenly, I don’t know right or left and my movements are as fluid as the tin man before oil.

I’m sure if I took a video, I’d just look like an inflatable tube man with flailing arms and legs that don’t know which way to go.

So like Kyle, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and want to dabble in dance. Please share your favorite dance routines. (Like a beast - like a boss)

(And I have as much coordination and rhythm as a newborn horse)

I did LaShawn’s routine with Kyle but I was so so lost and did mostly arm flailing and random stepping 😂 but I vowed to just have fun

Rereading Abaddon’s Gate and is this…..?

Our Marcos?

“The lift paused and three soldiers got on it, all men. Melba pressed herself back to make room for them, and the nearest nodded his polite gratitude. His uniform identified him as *Marcos*. She nodded back, then stared hard at her feet, willing them not to look at her. Her uniform felt like a costume. Even though she knew better, it felt like they would see through her disguise if they looked too close. Like her past was written on her skin.

My name is Melba Koh, she thought. I’ve never been anyone else.

The lift stopped at her level and the three soldiers made way for her. She wondered, when the time came, whether *Marcos* would die.”

I was having the worst day so crawled in bed rereading Caliban’s War and got to an Avasarala line and laughed out loud I scared my cats 😂 Please give me your favorite lines that made you laugh (show or books)

“No,” Avasarala said.

“Uh, no? You might be forgetting whose ship you’re on.”

“I’m sorry, did I seem to give a fuck that this is your ship? If I did, really, I was just being polite,” Avasarala said, giving him a withering glare.

Advice: when you’re tired but wired, however just the thought of working out is overwhelming that you just end up feeling lazy

I’m exhausted. I don’t sleep more than 2-3 hours at a time, I can no longer take naps. I just wake up and eat.

The mere thought of working out makes me even more exhausted that I can’t even manage that anymore. I’m working 3 jobs and under extreme stress but the whole notion of having to add in diet, exercise, and sleep hygiene is even more overwhelming.

What do you do when the mere thought of lifting a weight is exhausting? I’m on progesterone at night and testosterone/DHEA/pregnenolone in the morning and I have a Kyleena IUD. My estrogen levels are always so high whenever drawn and my testosterone and progesterone are non-existent.

I am now a Choosing Beggar

Generally, I love reading CB’s but it’s like most new posts are:

> brand new account
> copy and paste with minor tweaks from popular posts

I know Reddit is free (albeit with more and more promoted content) so I’m not paying for the service, but damnit, I’m tired of wasting my time reading AI slop. Facebook, instagram, TikTok is more ads than it is actual material and posts. Reddit is becoming more AI curated promotions or karma farms. I cut the cord from cable to have no ads. Now all I’m thinking about is going back to cable because it’s LESS ads and cheaper.

I’m not sure if this makes me entitled or a CB. I demand better services and quality material but I don’t want to pay for it! (Bonus if it can be delivered because I know someone who knows someone who doesn’t drive)

Warm-ups?

Does anyone have a particular routine for warming up? I don’t find that the short warmups before strength training being enough and my body isn’t quite prepared for the workout (in its old perimenopausal way now).

Thoughts on fitness influencers of the 80s vs today

I’m watching a Richard Simmons special and, as an overweight kid in the 90s, I remember Richard Simmons well. My mother bought all the Sweatin’ to the oldies, Jane Fonda videos, and these very weird exercise equipment (whatever those spring ab workout things were) for me to workout. I did have the most fun with Richard Simmons and I remember watching everything he was on because I felt seen and not bullied.

Some of the fitness influencers of yore were quite problematic, along with the diet trends. (WHY OH WHY IS THE SLIM FAST DIET COMING BACK???? - now rebranded the GLP diet by Premier Protein)
However, seeing some of the content today of women (and men) with clear eating disorders to highly edited photos makes me wonder if fitness influencers became worse over the years or I’m just so desensitized to the content.

My quiet, psychotic little Ferdinand would lay out in the backyard with birds, lizards, and bunnies right next to him. No reaction. Nothing. He doesn’t talk or howl. He just yips when he wants to play with his sisters or my husband, however, he will huff his displeasure multiple times an hour.

Last week, I was reading a post about your little predators and remarked how little Zeucifer is weird. Well he heard me and he mauled not one, but two birds this week.

I may be only allowed to read Reddit alone in the dark now.
