Visa Application Rejection – Need Guidance [India]

I spent a lot of time collecting all the documents and drafting my cover letter based on guidance I found from posts here on Reddit and various YouTube videos.

Visa Appointment (31st July, BLS Ahmedabad) Everything went smoothly at the centre. They did not object to any of my documents and accepted everything without question. The entire appointment took hardly 10 minutes.

Rejection Notice (Received Today) I received my passport today with a rejection citing the following reasons:

  • Reason 2: Justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not provided
  • Reason 10: The information submitted regarding justification of the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not reliable

I cannot figure out what went wrong. I've attached my cover letter and itinerary for review.

Possible Issue: The only discrepancy I've noticed is that in my itinerary, I mistakenly left the accommodation column as "Hotel (dummy)". I forgot to replace it with the actual hotel name, although I did provide the actual hotel booking as a supporting document. I'm uncertain if this alone could be significant enough to cause a rejection.

Evidence Submitted

  • Real flight booking: Fully refundable Etihad ticket (costed ₹1L+) for round trip. I didn't want to risk using dummy tickets
  • Accommodation: Hotel bookings made through booking .com using the pay-later option
  • Financial evidence: Bank statements showing approximately ₹20L average balance over the previous 3 months

I'm puzzled by this rejection. I've seen people get visas with just dummy tickets, so I can't pinpoint what went wrong. Is there anything I can do now to obtain the visa? What are my options with a travel date of 19th September?

Conflicting advice on dummy tickets.

So document list on BLS Spain website for India says that "It is advisable not to buy the air ticket until the visa has been granted". Link to it

But on most of the video and even here on reddit people suggest to buy refundable tickets.

Have gone through multiple post here and i am more confused now. Some have got visa from dummy tickets, people here still suggest not to go with it. BLS official document list has got me confused as well.

So would love to hear everyone opinion and experience with this.

SIP Investment Above ₹1 Lakh: Stuck with Groww's Mandate Limit,Need Alternatives

I use Groww to invest in mutual funds through SIP. Recently, I increased my SIP amounts and now 2 of my SIPs are crossing ₹1 lakh. The problem is that during SIP creation, the mandate limit shown is ₹1 lakh, so these SIP transactions keep failing. I had to manually do the payments, which completely defeats the whole purpose of SIP.

When I contacted Groww customer care, they suggested a workaround: split the investment across two different days since the mandate limit applies on a daily basis. For example, if I want to invest ₹1.2 lakh, I should do ₹1 lakh SIP on day 1 and ₹20k on day 2. But this doesn't sit well with me because:

  • I'll get the NAV of two different days

The other option they suggested was doing manual payments each month, but that's out of the equation for me since I tend to forget and it defeats the entire purpose of having an automated SIP.

So I'm looking for solutions. For anyone doing SIP investments over ₹1 lakh in a single fund, how do you manage this? Which platform do you use? Is there any platform that actually allows SIPs above ₹1 lakh without these workarounds? Any insights would be really helpful!

UPDATE 1: I have created an account with INDmoney and imported all my funds there. Now while creating the SIP, it lets me enter the SIP amount and i have entered 2 lakh(to have room for tweaking SIP further). It seems like this would work since eNach mandate page mentioned 2 lakh. Autopay would take 2 days for approval i will post further update here

Had a really wholesome interaction with an auto driver because of my perfume today

So, Theoreme is one of my favorite perfumes, probably one of the first fragrances I genuinely fell in love with. I’m already on my second bottle, and today I had just put on 2 sprays before heading out.

A few minutes into the ride, the auto driver suddenly asked me:
“Kaunsa perfume lagaye ho sir?”

I smiled and asked, “Accha laga?”
He immediately said yes and asked for the name.

I told him, “Middle Eastern perfume hai, Theoreme naam hai.”

Then he asked, “Kitne ka hoga?”
I said somewhere around ₹1400–1600.

What felt wholesome was how genuinely interested he became after that. I asked him if he’s into perfumes, and he said:

“Main A… X… E lagata hu sirf sir”

He literally said each alphabet separately instead of saying “AXE” together and I don’t know why but that made the interaction feel even more genuine and sweet. He asked about performance and stuff “kitne der chalta hai sir”.

He added that he sweats riding auto all day long so he wants to smell good.

He wanted the details because he was thinking of buying it himself, so I shared the perfume details with him, gave him the Myntra listing, and then even told him not to buy from there because it’s usually overpriced. I shared one of. community seller contact with him and explained he’d get a better deal from him.

Just felt like sharing it here since the whole interaction just felt really wholesome to me.
