My problem with the bhagavad gita

So , i read the first 4 chapters of the bhagavad gita ( tatvavivechani) by gita press , and there were a few problems that i found ,

many people quote a very popular verse of the bhagavad gita 2.47 , and this verse is actually helpful from a personal pov , but if you would read the further context of this verse by understanding many verses from the entire bhagavad gita , you would no that it is not that practical .

before i explain my problem with 2.47 , let me tell you about 4.13 verse which many people quote to prove that varna is by profession but if you read the commentary in tatvavivechani , it is clearly written that varna is primarily by birth ,

not just that , in 18.45 , 18.48 , 18.60 , it is clearly mentioned that people must perform duty born of their innate qualities which are derived from prakriti , so it is stratifying the birth based varna system .

now the verse of 2.47 is only practical in this context of these verses as we know that karma is dependent on gunas and gunas are formed during at birth from prakriti , so basically only right to action which is determined already at birth is the message , remove the context and the practicality of 2.47 will also be gone .

this is just my opinion , i am happy to hear your opinions too , and i would also be willing to engage in a discussion or debate regarding this

How to reconcile advaita vedanta and karma siddhanta

okay , so my situation is that the more i go into advaita vedanta , the less important karma siddhanta becomes for me , i mean to say that when i just sit down and ponder upon the concepts of advaita , the feeling of the need to perform action for whatever reason just gets diluted and i am in this state where i just feel like going to one mountain and just staying there for the rest of my life ,

now i think we all agree that without karma , we cannot sustain life or anything , but the deeper i go into advaita vedanta , i kinda lose track of reality and it is really not healthy for me as i am a student and i have this very bad habbit of going down the rabbit hole of hype skepticism every time i ponder

i know we have examples of swami vivekananda who was a karm yogi but also practiced advaita , but i am looking for something more insightful and little more based on the shastras

the main problem is that if we beleive the jagat is mithya , then what is the purpose of engaging in karma

How does advaita give an answer for the origin of avidya ? ,

Because according to advaita vedanta , avidya is the reason we experiance duality , so from where does avidya come from . and why did it originate , if avidya comes from bhrahman , then how can something pure like brahman be the origin of avidya , if it does not come from brahman , then we have don't have non- duality anymore

this is a question is posed by the many isckon vaishnavites and madhava followers , i would appreciate if you would give the answer from the commentaries of advaita scholars itself or if you also have an explanation then that is okay too

THis is a fundamental question ,

Urgent need for the study of nirukta shastra in this sub

guys , if we truly want to understand hinduism , then we need to create a seperate sub for nirukta , we need actual sanskrit scholors who are experts in this , otherwise we would just be talking and discussing in air , if we want to have fruitful discussuions , then we need to base our discussions on the original scriptures , and to do that we need people who have been traditionally trained in nirukta

my proposal is that we create a seperate sub for the study and analyses of nirukta , which will be moderated and governed by scholors who have studied nirukta , and there we will discuss all the matters related to interpretation of sanskrit hyms and vedic hyms and most important question is , what are devas in the vedas , many people give their own neo hindu understanding to devas in the vedas , but i want to know what nirukta says about it

i am new to this sub , so i don't know how many sanskrit scholors are there here , but i don't know much about how to create subs and oraginse discussions , so i would request the mods here to act on my proposal , trust me this is what we will need at this time

i know is is inconvenient for most of us to actually study this as hinduism is so vast , but even if we have a few scholars on nirukta then all the people on this sub will be enlightened

hey guys ,

i am not trying to be a pessimist here , but i was just thinking that we have built a really vibrant community here ever since d1 was released but are we going to discuss about peak detailing for the next like 4 years , i mean this sub is a big living proof of d1 and d2's cultural impact and legacy but i am afraid that after an year or two when the craze becomes normal , all the classic aesthetic vibe of dhurandhar will also just fade away ,

i mean this sub is actually a place where i feel like home , dhurandhar was not just a movie for me but it is a raw artistic manifestation of pure will and potency and it awakened a new sense of pride in me , whenever i feel low or demotivated , i just think about ravindra kaushik ji and all the other personalities like him whom we may never know about and the sacrifices they made , i think about shri ajit doval sir and of course who can forget the , goat of em all , shri RN Kao sir

So i really don't want that aesthetic vibe of dhurandhar to go away and i definitely don't want this really happening sub to fade away . I am telling you whenever i am going to drink fanta i will definitely hear a voice in my head saying " aa tuje fanta pilata hu"

i would like to hear your opinions on the future of this sub
