What are your horror hot takes?

  1. Terrifier series is overrated. They are not bad movies per se but definitely not as good as people make them out to be. It just seems to be the torture porn of slashers.
  2. Freddy's Dead is so bad it's great. It's not good from a technical standpoint, but it's entertaining and the video game kill is well done, while cheesy. I would much rather watch Freddy's Dead over the remake tbh.

Amethyst

Amethyst might be one of my favorite Deafheaven songs. Is it just me or does the synth starting at the 2:03 mark sound a lot like the Castlevania and Mega Man X game soundtracks? Which is not an insult because those soundtracks are amazing.

Really hoping they play it on their tour with Mastodon this fall.

Kane Parsons should direct a V/H/S segment

After Kane Parsons's work with Backrooms and how well the found footage parts were done, I think he'd do a V/H/S segment justice.

EDIT: I want him to do something different from Backrooms as far as the plot goes, I just think the way he does found footage is well done.

Sculpt from the canceled 2016 film/tv show

Not sure which one it was gonna be for, but I like his face design. Looks like a mix of young Jason and part 4. Still bummed we never got the David Bruckner/Nick Antosca movie.

I don't remember this shot in the remake, but this looks way better than the final look of Freddy we actually got, as far as a burn victim goes

What are true signs of burnout?

For me, you know you're burnt out when hobbies feel like a chore. Sometimes playing a video game can feel like a chore when I'm burnt out. Hell, even focusing on watching a movie at home can feel like a chore, let alone staying awake through it. Might be an ADHD/ADD thing but it happens enough.

What are your signs?

Anyone ever use Wag or Rover?

A few weeks ago I started using Wag and did a lot of dog walks. The first 2 weeks were decent as I made $66 between the walks and tips for week 1 and $45 the 2nd week. Ever since June 28th, I have gotten zero walks.

Not many services are available and the ones I selected had 4-5 people opt in as well, so I imagine it's pretty competitive.

That said, does anyone have better luck with Wag or Rover? I only have Wag and have found it hard to navigate the Rover app to sign up as a dog walker.
