Witnessed two different displays of kindness today.

1. an elderly Jewish man tripped on an elevated position (there was some construction occurring in the area). A random young black man ran over and picked him up. Dusted him off and made sure he was ok. <observed from an uber>

2. as I was getting out of a cab I saw a late middle aged couple walking across the street. The gent tripped on the sidewalk and landed on his chest. I think the wind kinda got knocked out of him. When he turned over we could see a slight trickle of blood on his face. Apparently his eye glasses cut into his face (open rim glasses). A decent amount of people of various diversities helped him up, found napkins to help contain the wound and ultimately hailed a cab for the couple.

In a world where the media tries to divide us, there are still plenty of great humans walking amongst us.

I order pretty frequently for both my business and personal and for the last six months I’ve noticed a clear decline in service. The “now arriving tomorrow” has become commonplace and often they still don’t even meet that date.

Am currently in an uber on a somewhat busy street. Traffic is heavier than it should be. We slowly inch along. Ahhh, it’s slow because a car (uber) has stopped to pick up a couple of people. Seemed pretty ordinary until you realize they are stopped at effectively at a crack/fentanyl den.

To be fair to the driver, I am quite sure they didn’t know what they stumbled upon and by the time they did the door had been opened.

So as much as I might rail against uber/lyft and the bad behavior, I’ve never had to pick up a crackhead.

Driver drove around for 30 minutes in a circle at SFO. Even ‘started’ the ride. Not sure if he wanted me to cancel or what the scam was. But I waited 35 minutes before giving up and calling an uber (I originally checked Uber prices and they were $25 more expensive).

My guess is the dude wanted me to cancel so he could take advantage of surge pricing but then just say that. Wasted everyone’s time and $.

Marlo may be a sociopath but his logic is sound.

Chris doesn’t get enough credit for being a gentleman about things. Think about it, is quick and efficient with his business, handles dirty work, and comforts people in their last moments.

The constant lying about how far a driver is; the late cancellations by drivers (always seemingly after I’ve been waiting for 80 percent of the ‘wait time’); it’s gotten out of control.

Too bad uber (and Lyft) just bought the market and paid fines later after crashing the taxi industry.
