Intactivists should be vegan
It is extremely hypocritical to say doctors who cut babies should be jailed but people who debeak chickens should not be punished. It’s extremely hypocritical to say men cut as baby boys deserve reparations but chickens mutilated by men with permission from the state don’t deserve reparations in the form of government funded vegan animal sanctuaries. in the United States almost all non vegans have or will cause extra animals to be mutilated with their purchases
If an animal is living a mostly bad life, suffering massively in a factory farm and experiencing little wellbeing then it’s wrong to breed them into existence.
If an animal is living a mostly good life, perhaps on a pasture then it’s wrong to cut their mostly good life short by executing them when they’re a healthy teenager.
Why take a utilitarian / hedonistic view of “non humans” but take an inalienable rights view towards “humans” ?
An individual consumer choosing to purchase or boycott animal products is personally responsible for extra chicks being killed or spared. If you are not vegan you are personally causing this to happen to more animals here’s proof

And the comments and back and forth of this for any objections you may have to the efficacy of individual boycott of real meat which have already been debunked https://www.reddit.com/r/DebateAVegan/comments/1otuhqv/individual_boycott_of_meat_does_matter/
The case for this is simple, infant circumcision is bad almost solely due to the fact it causes suffering and prevents/reduces future feelings of wellbeing/pleasure and this is also true of debeaking based on many studies done on debeaking.

The Cambridge declaration of consciousness and New York update to it totally agree with me
all those Cognitive neuroscientists, neuroanatomists, neurophysiologists, neuropharmacologists, computational neuroscientists, ethologists, behavioral biologists, theoretical physicists, philosophers, comparative psychologists, evolutionary biologists, neurologists, animal welfare scientists, legal scholars, professors of law, public law and human rights lecturers, computer scientists, veterinary professors, environmental studies scholars, chemical and biological engineers, linguists, and chief executive officers
Agree that all birds and mammals have a significant amount of consciousness
They can suffer a lot
They can also experience wellbeing

Some will say “but I only believe in “human” rights, and chickens are not ”human””.
To this I have a few responses
Define human, for example thousands of years ago did two “non humans” give birth to a “human”? do you believe that “human” should have rights but not his or her parents? why? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wMxs0Q1TfFo https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sqFbQgVrg7s
If on another planet in another galaxy there was a different species of beings who looked and acted almost exactly like earth humans but they had very different DNA then earth humans and were a different species unable to produce viable offspring with earth humans would you say they deserve no rights? What if they were also unable to reason/ unintelligent and unable to breed with earthly humans do to different dna but otherwise just like earthly humans in all other ways such as appearance?
what is your response to name the trait? https://vnarek.github.io/name-the-trait

Animal rights are a logical extension of human rights
The hypocrisy / speciesism is when you treat a trait equalized animal significantly worse then a trait equalized human.
For example,
Giving lots of rights to a orphaned human being with Lissencephaly who will live less long, be less intelligent, be less conscious, be less capable of experiencing suffering and wellbeing, etc then a average healthy young adult pig. If you believe the human with Lissencephaly should receive millions in medical care, it should be illegal to do painful medical experiments on them to make new medications or cosmetics, it should be illegal to breed them for meat, etc but you believe the average healthy young adult pig should have no rights or protections from things like painful medical experiments on them to make new medications or cosmetics, breeding them for meat, etc then you are a speciesist. You are discriminating solely on the basis of species and nothing else. Not intelligence or potential for intelligence in the case of a healthy human baby. Solely species
But this leads to reductio ad absurdums.
It is extremely similar to feminists who support anti FGM laws while not supporting banning MGM, if you look at penal codes banning MGM they are Sexist as they discriminate solely based on genitalia type.
It also leads to reductios like I mentioned in my original post, if you discriminate solely on the basis of being “human” it requires you to define what a human is and can lead to absurdities like believing two non humans gave birth to a human and their parents deserve zero rights while their child should have the same rights as you and I.
