Change to Yoke

I’m a yoke guy! My new-to-me 24 MXP has a round steering wheel that I’m looking to swap out to yoke. Tesla wants over $1000 to do the supply/install.

My year MXP has the mechanical horn so if course I’m limited to my style.

In general, I can buy a yoke from fellow owners or online sources but curious how it went for those that did the conversion yourselves?

Is the airbag transferable from the round wheel to the new?

How would you invest $1M to multiply it?

If you had access to $1M in capital, how would you invest it with the goal of multiplying it over time?

I’m not talking about gambling it on one high risk idea. I’m thinking more along the lines of building or buying cash flowing assets, improving them, and either holding long term or exiting at a higher value.

Some ideas I’ve been seriously thinking about:

- Apartment buildings / multifamily rentals: Group capital together, acquire smaller apartment buildings, improve operations, grow cash flow, then either hold or sell the portfolio later.
- Residential rentals / short-term rentals: Buy residential properties, rent them traditionally, or convert the right properties into short-term rentals where the market supports it.
- Buying existing businesses: Acquire a small business outright, buy in as an equity partner, or invest in an owner who needs capital. Improve systems, management, marketing, and profitability, then hold for cash flow or sell at a better multiple.
- E-commerce: Amazon, Shopify, private label, or some kind of online product business. Higher risk, but potentially scalable if the right product and system are found.
- AI / automation agency or tech services: Partner with people who understand AI implementation and help businesses automate workflows, reduce costs, or improve operations.
- Public markets: Dividend stocks, ETFs, bonds, crypto, or possibly active trading, although this feels more passive/speculative compared to building or buying something operational.

For the entrepreneurs here:
What would you actually do with $1M if the goal was to turn it into meaningfully more?
What would you avoid?

I’m looking for practical, real world answers from people who have built, bought, scaled, or invested in businesses/assets before.

Skin pain treatment options

Hi everyone

Tried reading through the other posts. It’s actually kind of relieving to see what I’m experiencing isn’t unique to me.

I was able to get a very quick jump on it. Reading this sub however, my skin sensitivity issues started at least 3-4 days before the rash showed up so I’m not sure if I was a late start in that regard.

When I first saw a scratch on my chest and I thought it was fungus related so psycho-me washed it and rubbed 70% isopropyl alcohol to annihilate it. It worked…kind of. Then the rash just came the next day in hard under my armpit. This is when I went into see my doctor and super grateful I did as I normally refrain from going. Doctor gave me a 7 day course of anti viral and a full bottle of pain meds with focus on how to titrate it up and back down when coming off and how much I was allowed to take, I remember thinking in my head “7 days treatment and all this talk about pain meds what a waste” wow….I like to think I have a high level of tolerance for pain but I’ve been defeated!! This is something else!

After getting on the meds the rash continued to spread to under my armpit, on the back of my entire arm then eventually my chest and back.

Day #5 I started to notice it clearing out. Everything shrinking and going away and skin clearing up.

I’m Day #6 now and the pain is as bad as Day 2-3. The pain meds doesn’t appear to do anything other than making me more tired. The pain at first in the rash area but now still very much in the same area, but it has extended out to my chest, my back and all the way down my right leg.

Something new as of Day #6 I’m getting that shooting pain, which is a new experience. It’s somewhere deep inside my ear canal just in the other side where every so often there’s a ping or a shooting pain that hits for a quick second and it’s jarring but goes away quick so I don’t know if this is now travelling to the inside of my head or what’s going on.

I’m disappointed to learn that the skin sensitivity pain lingers well past the rash phase and can continue for weeks, months, and even years according to some posts here!

My question to everyone is the following:

  1. Those with skin sensitivity pain how did you manage it? What helped what didn’t
  2. How long did the skin sensitivity stay before you saw improvement?
  3. If this is an immune suppression issue, did you do anything to improve that situation whether it be eating healthier, more greens or taking peptides?

I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow and we’ll see what can be done for my pain management.

Wishing everyone this speedy recovery!

Sold my business - $250k tax hit

I recently sold shares of a private Canadian corporation through my holdco and may not qualify for the lifetime capital gains exemption. My estimated tax bill could be around $250k.

The proceeds are going into my holdco, and I’m trying to understand ways to reduce/defer tax before drawing funds personally. I’ve heard about CDA/capital dividends, leaving funds in the holdco, income splitting with spouse, and possibly charitable structures, but I don’t want to do anything aggressive or risky.

What should I be asking a proper Canadian tax accountant or tax lawyer before filing or withdrawing funds?

Edit / takeaway: 2026/06/18

Appreciate the helpful comments. My biggest takeaway is that if you are selling a private business, you should involve the right advisors before the sale is finalized.

At minimum, that l means:
- an M&A advisor/broker who understands private-company sales;
- a tax accountant or tax lawyer who specializes in pre-sale planning, QSBC/LCGE, holdcos, CDA, and extraction planning;
- your regular accountant, but not relying on them alone if they mainly handle compliance filings.

Some planning may need to happen years before a sale, especially around share ownership, purification, LCGE, and family/spouse planning. Once the sale is closed, the focus shifts to post-closing tools like CDA, RDTOH/refundable tax, RRSP planning, and controlled withdrawals.

Thanks to those who gave useful direction. I’m taking this offline with a proper tax specialist there’s still a way to do this correctly even post sale.

I’m considering importing from the US and if I do so I’ll do a little write up on it. Doesn’t seem too complicated just need to pay GST and potentially the surtax (tariff).

Deep concave wheels

I’m on a hunt for dressing my 24 XP with some deep concave wheels but there is a limit to how deep of a concave you can go with.

  1. Has anyone done this? If so, how did you make it work? Spacers, etc.
  2. Show off your deep concave wheels, post a photo.
  3. Any pros and cons and any tops you want to share? Range issues, wheel size, etc.

Photos attached not mine, google search.
