BREAKING: Kawhi Leonard had a hidden, multimillion-dollar "sponsorship" with Clippers' scoreboard-maker, sources tell @PabloTorre.

Edited to reflect The Athletic article

The Los Angeles Clippers and Kawhi Leonard, who are currently under investigation for potential salary cap violations related to payments outside of the league’s salary cap, also received millions in a second questionable sponsorship deal, according to a report by the podcast “Pablo Torre Finds Out.”

The podcast, citing multiple anonymous sources inside the Clippers and the Intuit Dome project, reported a previously unknown deal with Daktronics, the company that manufactured the Intuit Dome’s Halo video screen and others in the sports world.

The Clippers have been under investigation by the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, with a focus on a $28 million endorsement deal given to Leonard by Aspiration, a former Clippers sponsor, since September. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has maintained that he was defrauded by Aspiration and its co-founder, Joe Sanburg.

BOS/NOP/POR 3-Team Deal

Not the best but a rough idea.

BOS: Shams reporting the C’s will continue to listen to Brown offers. Bring back Jrue, young talent in Murphy, and get their ‘29 1st back from POR.

NOP: Again, reports today seem to state Murphy is available. Camara and Murphy are the same age, however Camara is on a cheaper deal for more years. Can be a good defensive fit next to Queen, Pelicans would likely need more draft capital.

POR: Blazers reportedly have had interest in Brown for some time, here they add the best player in this deal.

CHA/LAC/NOP 3-Team Trade

CHA: Upgrade their defense and hold onto #14 in the draft. If they re-sign White and draft a guard, could roll into next season with Ball/White/#14 as ball handlers, Miller/Knueppel/H. Jones/J. Green on the wings, and Lopez/Diabate/Kalkbrenner as bigs.

LAC: Rumored to have interest in Murphy, they move back from #5 to #18 and give up Lopez and Jones Jr to get the deal done. If one of Mara, Morez, or Steinbach were still on the board for them at #18 this’d be a home run.

NOP: Could get more total picks in a different Murphy/Jones deal, but here moving up to #5 is too good to pass up. Move forward with #5, Fears, and Queen as the core. Showcase Bridges and Jones Jr for the first half of the season then flip their expiring deals to contenders at the deadline for draft capital.

BKN/CHA/MIL 3-Team Deal

BKN: Flips #6 into #10, #14, and a 1st from CHA in 2028. Bridges on an expiring deal, can still offer Reaves the max if they want.

CHA: Trades for a starting center, solid 6th man, and still have #18 overall in this year’s draft.

MIL: Gives up #10 and Rollins to move up to #6. Wagler, Acuff, Brown Jr now on the table for them.

ATL/CHA/MIN 3-Team Deal

ATL: Trades down from the 8th pick to acquire 14th and 18th overall, as well as a solid back up big in Kalkbrenner on a rookie deal. Jalen, Dyson, Gueye, Kalkbrenner, and three first round picks in a deep draft this year could set Atlanta up for a bright future.

CHA: Hornets would have their starting center locked in for the next two years before Knueppel and Miller extensions kick in down the line and team gets more expensive, can re-sign Gobert to a team friendly deal once his current contract is up in ‘28.

MIN: Cuts about $7.5 million in salary, acquire solid depth pieces in Green and Williams, and get younger with the 8th overall pick. If Wolves don’t think they can afford to re-sign Ayo they can take one of the guards, or go big with Mara possibly.

Roast away in the comments.

Colorado Road Trip Advice

Hi - To keep it short, I’ll be in Colorado in late July to attend an event in Crested Butte. Plan is to fly into Denver and drive from there to CB. After that however I will have some time on my hands and am wondering which may be a more enjoyable drive, continuing along to SLC or looping around CO and flying back out of Denver. Any suggestions/ideas/advice is welcome, thanks!

MIL/CLE/BOS 3-Team Deal

Is this feasible? Who would say yes/no and why?

BOS: If (big if) they decide to move off of Brown, then a player of Mobley’s caliber and age may be amongst the best they can do. Strus a solid 3&D addition.

CLE: Getting the best player in this deal. Would Giannis and Mitchell be a good pairing?

MIL: Would likely need more draft capital to say yes, but Brown and a late 1st in this year’s draft is a decent starting point.

BOS/PHX Trade

BOS: Memes and jokes aside Brooks brings some of that edge and toughness the C’s lacked in this year’s playoffs. He doesn’t solve all their problems but it’s a start. Also doesn’t affect their quest to remain under the tax going into next summer.

PHX: Flip Brooks’ expiring deal into a cost-controlled asset in Hauser who brings playoff experience and shooting. Garza showed he can be a solid big off the bench during the regular season.

MIL/GS/LAC 3-Team Deal

MIL: Starting over with the 5th overall pick in this year’s draft, and acquire valuable future assets from Golden State.

GSW: Acquire Giannis to pair with Curry to give them a real shot at deep playoff runs for Steph’s final years, also AJ Green as a depth piece.

LAC: Move down from 5th to 10th overall and pocket the 11th pick along the way, go into next season with Kawhi, Garland, and two lottery picks.

GSW / PHI Trade

GSW: Embiid joins the Warriors for one final run in the Curry era.

PHI: Do the Sixers make another run with Embiid or start to look towards the future with Maxey, Edgecombe, and draft picks. Here they’d receive 11th overall this year, the right to swap in ‘31, and an unprotected in ‘32 well after Curry and Embiid have hung it up.

BOS/ATL/LAC 3-Team Deal

BOS: Receives Leonard, Okongwu, and Dunn. Switch out JB for Kawhi in the starting lineup and avoid having to give JB the massive contract extension he has looming. OO and Dunn help fill some of the holes the team still has after the departures of Jrue and KP.

ATL: Receives Brown. After seeing how much success their team had late in the season, would the Hawks add Brown to the mix and try to take the next step.

LAC: Receives the 8th overall pick, Daniels, Risacher, and salary filler (Hield). They’d have a chance to start over with a core of the 5th & 8th overall picks, Garland, and Daniels.

BOS/TOR/DEN 3-Team Trade

*Works with 26-27 salaries on Spotrac

BOS: Restocks the supporting cast around Tatum. Braun dealt with injury this past season but is still only 25. Barrett provides decent ball handling and scoring off the bench. Poeltl, only a season removed from averaging 15 and 10, strengthens their big man depth. Would also receive the 19th overall pick from Toronto.

TOR: Raptors add an All-Star with championship experience in Jamal Murray to their Barnes/Ingram/IQ/CMB core.

DEN: Essentially swapping Murray for Brown, the argument can be made JB is a slightly better player overall, however, the chemistry Murray and Jokic have developed over the years may make the trade not worth it. Boston would also send the 27th pick, giving Denver back to back selections at 26th and 27th overall.

Rockets/Celtics Deal

Not sure if Boston would do this, but posting anyways for the feedback

HOU: The lack of ball handling and shooting was evident in the playoffs. Yes, getting FVV back will help with that but adding another ball handler in White would set them up for a solid guard rotation going into next year with FVV, Sheppard, and White. Rockets can throw in the 39th pick in this draft as well.

BOS: The Celtics would receive Jabari Smith Jr, who’ll be 24 going into next season, and Adams who’ll be 33 and coming off season ending ankle surgery. The C’s would be looking at a starting line up of Pritchard/Brown/Tatum/Smith Jr/Queta and a bench unit of Scheierman, Hauser, Adams, and Gonzalez. They’d also have the 27th pick and the non-taxpayer MLE to address the ball handling role available with White gone.
