Scarab beetle - good luck or bad omen?

Scarab beetle - good luck or bad omen?

In the 5 years I've lived in this house, I've never seen one of these here. Then all of the sudden, this one shows up dead on the handrail around my back porch.

A lot of things are in fluctuation in my life right now. I remembered some spiritual meanings of green scarabs, and I looked up more, but I'm having trouble deciphering whether I should take this as a positive or negative sign.

Not sure how to respond to coworker about possible microaggressions

I (34f) work in an office that only has one other person (56f) in it most of the time. We sometimes share personal drama with each other, but our offices are across the suite from each other, so we have plenty of space and don't talk a lot theoughout the day. That is to say, we are friendly, but not friends.

This doesn't happen often, but occasionally my coworker will say things to me that are delivered as friendly commentary, but come across as an attempt at a subtle dig. I never know if it's intentional, and I don't know how to respond.

Previously, these comments have usually been about my weight or my body. I am short and plus sized, but I eat very healthy most of the time - lots of veggies, fruit, and fish. My coworker has repeatedly said things to me like "I don't understand how you eat the way you do and still aren't skinny" or "if I ate like you, I would be skinny". Sometimes she'll tell me stories about her family or friends, and she always makes sure to describe the people's bodies to me in ways like "she's your size" or "she's probably built like you but taller".

Friday, I was stung by a wasp on the face. The area is swollen and had some fluid trapped in it, which drained last night, but it's still red and inflamed. This morning, my coworker walked into my office, said good morning, and immediately said "wow, you have a huge blemish on your face. I'm not used to seeing you with blemishes". I didn't know how to respond, so just told her what happened.

It doesn't hurt my feelings that she does this, but it irritates me that I have to deal with it. I don't know how to professionally or politely respond to her. I'm starting to feel like she's purposely saying these things as an attempt at being covertly bitchy, in a mean girl kind of way, but I can't really tell. Regardless, I would appreciate any advice on how to handle these situations.

TIA.

I feel pathetic, but I don't see a way out, and I can't find a reason to stop caring.

My partner of 16 years treats me terribly. Daily. We can be having a great day, but one stray negative thought is all it takes for her to completely change course.

On a daily basis, I can expect to hear any combination of: I hate you, I can't wait until I'm done with all of this, I can't wait until I never have to speak to you again, I hate that you're always near me, you're so annoying, you're so stupid, stfu, I don't care about you or your feelings, none of this matters to me, etc.

I pay for most of our expenses. She has a job, but she makes about 1/4-1/3 of what I do. She has been offered promotions repeatedly, but she has turned them down. Yet, she tells me it's my fault that she doesn't have any money saved and she goes broke every week between paychecks.

Her car broke down and needs work, but she's been putting that off for 2 years now. She says it's my fault because I'm preventing her from progress. But she gets mad when I buy the things to work on her car or plan time for me to help her with it, or even just for her to do it while I do something else so she feels encouraged.

Chores and things at home have really fallen down. Her only responsibility is the dishes, which she rarely does, and tells me it's because she doesn't have time because I prevent her from it. Meanwhile, I find the time to do laundry and clean the bathrooms and change the linens.

I have never missed giving her a ride to or from work, and I pay for 90% of her meals, but she says she hates seeing me at lunch (we work next door to each other) and she hates having to go home with me.

She'll tell me all day how much she hates me, and then calm down once she gets home and tell me how she loves me more than anyone and how I'm her favorite person.

She very regularly cancels plans the morning of. Dates, family events, plans with friends, errands, etc.

I know this is unhealthy. I know I would be better off alone. But I often feel like this is better than being alone. I also know she has no plan and no money, so I know it isn't realistic for her to leave right now. If she did, she would fail and be in a dangerous situation as a homeless transwoman. I can't stomach the idea of her going through all of that. I keep trying to tell her that we should try to find a way to get alkng better until she can afford to leave, but that enrages her.

I just feed lost.

Dream about my mother - I couldn't stop washing my hands

I am currently 34f. In the dream, I said outloud to someone that I was 18.

The dream took place in a large one-story house, which was very nice. At first, it seemed like I was in some type of boarding house; but then, it seemed like it was supposed to be my parents' house. There was a party/gathering going on with food preparation. I got the feeling that it was a graduation or wnd of school year celebration.

Most of the people there were people I knew, or that I felt I was supposed to know. Mostly people I don't consider "safe" family members, but a few that I do. There was a girl I used to be friends with as a child there, as well as one or two of my cousins. She wasn't a close friend, just someone I saw once a year.

At some point, I saw a photocopied version of an old children's Christmas book I used to have, that had been put into paper protector sleeves. At this point in the dream, I had just become aware that a) i was going to be somewhere for the next couple of weeks, it may have been a school, but i don't remember that part; and b) when ai came back, my family will have moved without me, and that this was my mother's secret plan that I wasn't supposed to know about.

I started trying to talk to people about this revelation, and ask if they knew why, but no one would answer me. The "safe" family members had disappeared except one. No one who was there would speak to me. They all acknowledged that they heard me, but just wouldn't answer me. I started crying.

I went out on the front steps, to see a woman walking up them. I got the impression that she was supposed to be an aunt I think, but she looked different, and she was dressed in Victorian clothes. She laughed at me when I told her I found out the secret, and it seemed like she had devised the whole thing with my mother. I thought "I should push her down these stairs", but my alarm woke me up then.

Throughout the dream, I kept washing my hands every time I was in a room with a sink, often talking to someone as I did it.

Girlfriend wants to try getting hit in the face during sex - how do I get comfortable with that?

After reading a romance novel recently, my girlfriend (of 16 years) asked me if I would try hitting her in the face as foreplay. This doesn't interest me personally, but I want to be able to do that for her.

I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for it. I don't want to time it poorly or do it too hard or too soft. I'm nervous that I'm just going to make it a bad experience for her.

Any tips?
