Sadly time to rotate my favorite AMM display back to the cool dark recesses of storage for the next theme for the display shelves…
I recently began collecting slabs after being gifted AB15 Joker and am not wholly familiar with acceptable tolerances. I just received my second slab, an Absolute Batman #13 9.8 Foil in the mail which appears to be scuffed and finely scratched all over the back of the book as though it was purposefully scrubbed on a table in a circular motion. It’s difficult taking photos to accurately depict what appears to be damage on the back cover but marks are not exterior. That stated, I assume it’s not the book due to grade but can’t figure how the interior of the plastic got so scuffed being the surface is depressed. The front looks great and will display well.
I’d appreciate insights as to whether this a returnable issue? Is it at all likely the book was slabbed in damaged condition after being graded?
Am I just disappointed that I dropped coin on my first purchase of a slabbed book and it did not arrive pristine and my expectations are too high?

Back orders of 18 and 19 finally arrived this week so have all books I’ve ordered through 20. All A covers going forward or no gas to get to work, decisions, decisions.
Time to rotate my display and hadn’t laid out my collection until now. 40 books on a ten issue run (so far) is perhaps a bit excessive but I dig all these covers. Have two more 1:25’s and a 1:50 arriving next week. Whole collection are first prints. Thought someone might share in my current affliction.
