Anyone on Lexapro and breastfeeding?

I just had my post partum appointment and as my baby screamed the entire time and a nurse came in, the doctor suggested restarting Lexapro. I had been on it in the past and it worked well for me. I would have preferred Zoloft as I know it's the gold standard but my doctor assured me it was safer to take something I knew worked for my body already.

Anyone take Lexapro while exclusively breastfeeding? Any issues with baby or supply?

How do I know when it's anxiety versus normal concern?

This is something that I'm really struggling with 8 weeks postpartum. Usually I can tell when I'm overreacting but since everything is so new with the baby, I genuinely don't know when I'm letting my anxiety get to me or when it's just normal concern that I should follow up on.

For example, yesterday I was trying to get into bed and I was holding the baby so I was kneeling on the bed and stumbled forward a little as I was putting him down and he hit the mattress kind of hard. My hand was behind his head so his head didn't hit. I don't believe. And he didn't even get startled or cry, he was awake with his pacifier in his mouth when I put him down. But then I got in my head convincing myself that I jostled him and he could have brain damage. He seems totally fine So I didn't call the doctor but I keep spiraling. Is this a normal concern or overreaction?

Sweating in carseat

My 6 week old baby was crying pretty hard for about 15 minutes in the car before we were able to find a good place to pull over and check on him. He was drenched in sweat? His hair was all wet, his body was sticky, I felt AWFUL. And TERRIFIED. I immediately calmed him down, my husband turned the AC up to cool the car. I nursed him and he ate and relaxed and seemed okay. We changed him and got him home and he seems fine now but I'm still so worried.

The car was a bit warm but even I felt ok despite the post partum sweats. He was just in a short sleeve onesie and lightweight pants, dressed appropriately for the temperature in my opinion... I wouldn't have expected that kind of reaction.

Did he just work himself up so much he got sweaty?

Is there anything more I should have done?

Terrified of brain damage

I have always been an anxious person but having a baby has made it so much worse. He's about 6 weeks old and I'm terrified that he's going to get shaken baby syndrome or some sort of brain damage. He keeps head butting me and his soft spot hits my chin. That soft spot freaks me out so much I'm so worried about it. I went to put him down to change his diaper and I put him down a bit fast and he got startled and I was so scared I hurt him. He is working on holding his head up more but keeps bobbing it around. When he was smaller I worry we weren't always as supportive of his neck as we should have been and there were a few times where his head bobbed back and forth and I worry it caused damage. There's absolutely no evidence to this beyond my own fears.

He's alert, making eye contact, and just started smiling this last week but I'm still terrified I've somehow hurt or damaged him. I keep reminding myself no one has been deliberately rough with him, babies aren't as fragile as we think, etc etc but I can't stop my worries.

Mom kissed baby - hsv concern

I want to preface this by saying I do have anxiety and OCD (and it has gotten worse post partum) and I am working with professionals for that. I have a massive fear of hsv-1 for my baby. To the point my husband and I got the igg blood tests to confirm negative to both hsv1 and hsv2 before I allowed myself or him to kiss the baby (he still doesn't kiss him).

I have a strict no kissing rule for my baby for anyone who didn't make the baby. We planned on having everyone wear masks around him until he was 6 weeks old at least.

My mom occasionally gets cold sores. Infrequently - I have only seen her have maybe 2 in my lifetime. We loosened up on the mask thing because she had been staying with us for several days and essentially quarantined with us. However, twice now (once when he was about 3 weeks old and once yesterday when he was almost 6 weeks old) she mindlessly leaned down and kissed the top of his head. She did NOT have an active cold sore and she was totally healthy otherwise. It did look instinctual but I was FURIOUS and immediately plucked him out of her arms. She has apologized profusely and feels bad because it wasn't intentional but idgaf. I have now fully reinstated her wearing a mask anytime she holds him (since she clearly can't be trusted). But I'm spiraling about the risk of him getting hsv from this encounter. I'm obsessively monitoring him. He's not even 6 weeks old and I'm terrified.

Overdue and overly emotional

I'm just feeling extra emotional today and needed a rant. Feel free to use this as a place to rant as well if you just need somewhere to scream into the abyss.

I have been super patient up until now. I see so many people at 36+ weeks trying to induce and I had no interest in evicting baby until after at least 39 weeks. But now we're a few days past my due date and I'm a mess. Not because of the pregnancy itself but because of anxiety, anticipation, and general annoyance at everything and everyone.

Every single "omg I'm 38 weeks and no sign of labor" post pisses me off. It's normal and expected and I know people are uncomfortable so I get it but it is making me irrationally angry.

I try to walk the dog and people stop and are like STILL NO BABY?

I try to call my friends or family and they just assume it's an announcement.

At this point I have to preface with "no baby" before I talk to anyone and it's frustrating. Basically at this point I only talk to my husband because he is the only one still putting me first and not asking a million questions.

I have cried 3x and yelled at my mom twice all before 9 am. I feel awful and ungrateful because I know everyone is just excited and loves me but I have no control over his timing. He will come when he's ready.

How much money has OCD cost me?

I started realizing today that my OCD has cost me so much money for "peace of mind".

I bought a gas detector because I was terrified of a gas leak.

Then realized it doesn't detect carbon monoxide so of course I bought a handheld carbon monoxide detector as well. Drinking water test strips in case I'm accidentally getting poisoned by my water...The list goes on and on....over the years it must have been thousands of dollars that I've spent just for "peace of mind".

Anyone else think about how much money OCD has cost them?
