CD Hauls

I have to say that I'm more than a little jealous seeing you guys get all these amazing thrift store hauls. I buy all my stuff from labels, distros, and discogs. Most if what I buy is new, but all of it is fairly high price. Metal is less common in these places, but do you guys just kinda buy whatever, or do you actually find what you want? The only things I find at my thrift stores is gospel/religious, country, or soft rock.

New Haul

Got some of these on my trip to Beyond the Gates in Bergen, got the rest waiting for my return.

Festival

I traveled from USA to Bergen, Norway for the Beyond the Gates music festival. This is now my second time attending. I'm currently on day 3 of 4, and it is AMAZING! Whats the farthest you've traveled for a concert?

I traveled from the USA to Bergen, Norway for the Beyond the Gates music festival. This is actually my second time here, as I did it in 2024, also. I'm on day 3 of 4, and it is AMAZING! What's the farthest you've ever traveled for a concert?

Sound Pollution

I was in Stockholm, SWE from USA and stopped in at Sound Pollution, a metal record shop. Unfortunately, I could not buy any records because I'm traveling, but they gave me a sticker. Awesome shop!

My Collection (kinda)

I have over 1,250 CDs, and this thing probably holds 800 of 'em. 96% of my stuff is Extreme Metal (Death, Black, Thrash, etc).

[For Trade] Duplicates

Anybody else have any accidental dupes in their collection? Before I kept better track of my buying, I snatched up a couple handfuls of duplicates. I'd love to trade with someone because I don't want to make a Discogs seller account just for a few things that'll certainly never sell. Extreme metal only (I hate that term, but it is what it is). Bands like Dead Congregation, Portal, Deus Mortem, Profanatica, and Délétère. If you're interested, I can add an actual list or something. I'm just trying to see if there is interest. Mix of both CD and vinyl.

Roughed Up Records

Hi guys.

I am curious if any of you have some ill-treated records and how you play them. I have my dad's old collection and most of them have had a hard life. I just upgraded my record player, and I'm in no hurry to spin any of those on it. Do you have a stylus or separate table that you use for abused records or do you just not play them? I have a lot of memories with some of these records, and it's nice to put one on now and then.

Versus!

I know you guys are probably tired of certain questions, but I'm upgrading my table and I want some advice. I currently have a TEAC LP-R550USB, and I swapped the stylus out for an "improved" elliptical diamond and it skips a decent bit. I'm not sure why it won't work well, it fits the table's cartridge just fine but I think it is too much pressure on the needle. The table doesn't have any controls for pressure or skate, so you get what you get.

It is time to upgrade, so I'm looking at Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB-BK vs Fluance RT85. I've seen the pros and cons from both, so I know what I think will be the pick for me, but I wanted the opinion from people that have experience with them to chime in. I'd trust your all's opinion more than random reviews on sites. Thanks for any info!
