Lost a koi today

This was our favorite koi that we’ve had over 10 years. He was so friendly, came up to everyone and one of the best and most fun fish to watch in the pond. I’m really sad because it was a preventable death and we are fully responsible for their care and I feel like we failed him. I’m just really sad today and no one understands because “it’s just a fish.” We buried him in the backyard earlier. This hobby sucks sometimes! We’ve lost a couple fish to random reasons over the years and it never gets easier especially when it’s one of your faves. None of my other fish come to eat out of our hands, so that part sucks. Anyway just wanting to vent to the void thanks for reading and watching. He was so much bigger than we realized over 2.5 foot. We called him Tano.

Struggling a year into EMDR as a person with OCD

Ok I’m getting frustrated with EMDR. I feel like I’ve made a lot of great progress but the adhd or ocd is making it impossible to get anywhere lately.

I feel like I keep going in circles because the ocd(?) is looking for certainty. For example say the fear of an elevated heart rate - I think this means cardiac arrest/heart attack/something else wrong. So we’re processing, doing the eye movements. I’m afraid of the unknown, essentially. Fear of not knowing if something is going wrong. Okay, when was the first time you felt that way? She’s asking for childhood association right because the fear started somewhere young I guess. But every damn time I struggle to connect with my inner child. But I try. And sometimes I see her. And she’s asking me to ask child me for permission to let those feelings go (simplified!)… which I struggle with. Because I can see the scared small young me wanting to do that and sometimes I see us leaving the house together to go play or other positive thing but the adult me is thinking - I can’t care for this child. I can’t promise anything is gonna be okay. I still am afraid of something unknown happening regardless of how I interact with my inner child. My child wants to give permission to let go of the fear but I can’t let go of the fear of the unknown, and it’s leading me now to feelings of frustration like I am almost feeling annoyed at continuing to go in circles with EMDR like I’ve been down this path before and I’m so over it all.

Does anyone have any insight. I’ve been doing EMDR for over a year now and while a lot is better the health anxiety is still very much present.

This sub gives me whiplash 😑

For example:

OP posts about positive, non-weight related side effects like joint pain gone, anxiety cured, skin issues cleared.

Comments: me too! Life-changing drug! I’ll be on it for life! It’s cured every single thing wrong with me and also deposited a million dollars in my bank account!!! Pry it from my cold dead hands!!

—-

OP posts about common negative side effect like anhedonia, allodynia, anxiety increased, trouble sleeping.

Comments: are you sure you’re not an idiot? Could it be PERIMENOPAUSE?!?!?! I don’t understand why you’re not asking your doctor for these 200 labs. Are you even following the clinical trials? Are you dosing correctly or are you being an idiot again? Tirz never made me feel this way I don’t think you’re actually feeling that way.

Y’all are exhausting 😆

When I turn the temperature knob the numbers go crazy and I have to turn it so much for it to go all the way high or low. Has anyone experienced this?

It still works as far as I know (meaning, once I land on the temp I want it seems to heat/cool properly) it just takes me 100 turns to get back to 60 from 70 because the numbers bounce all over the place. I don’t wanna make an appt for a fix cuz it’s not that serious but wondering if this is something I could repair on my own?

About to switch to Mobi after being on tslim for 4-5 years now- is there anything I should know from more veteran users?

What are your must-know tips or tricks that you wished you knew early on? Does this pump still have the occlusion issues? I received it in January but haven’t switched yet because of that potential.
I still have plenty of tslim supplies if I end up hating it.

The mental health side effects are killing me, but I also don’t want to stop yet, or maybe at all. I’m lost.

I have had really amazing success on this med and I’m almost at 1 year in a couple weeks.

But I am not myself at all.

I’m in therapy currently for over a year- EMDR and soon Neurofeedback will begin.

I just sit or lay at home with zero motivation to do anything.

I haunt my house like a ghost.

I feel like I don’t care about almost anything, and a lot of the things I used to do I just don’t anymore.

Something simple like I always liked checking the Google pics memories each day to see what I was taking pics of over the years.

More typical hobbies included coloring, playing video games, watching shows, going out for walks on the rail trail was one of my most favorite things when the weather got nice even when I was bigger - I don’t care about any of it.

My relationship is suffering because I’m barely participating in it.

I don’t want to stack mental health meds to counteract the depression I seem to get from tirz. I’ve been on so many SSRIs when I was younger I got all the side effects like excessive yawning, brain zaps and feeling flat. I know Wellbutrin is used in this instance in particular but I couldn’t even take 3 days of that one due to severe mania side effects.

Idk what to do y’all. I’m so happy this is working for me but I’m feeling so blah in what should be a really happy celebratory time. I feel like I’m failing as a human somehow. I want to come off the med but it’s completely optimized my Type 1 diabetes and stopped my binge eating. I’d be stupid to come off of it because my blood sugars would suffer and I’d very likely gain weight with no meds to suppress my desire for food.

Any ideas?

Need sports bra recs that keep the empty girls in!

Hey! I’ve lost a solid amount of weight and now my breasts are very empty.

I wear sports bras at home on the daily for comfort, but because my boobs are so empty when I bend over they slip out the top of the bra and I’m constantly putting them back in.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I have so many different bras and they all do this except for one and I have no idea where I got it from.

TLDR

  1. I need a bra that holds the empty girls in without them falling out despite a lot of bending and moving and working.

  2. I’d like a bra that prevents the dreaded uniboob.

Let me know if your recommendation helps with 1, 2 or both! Thanks!

Struggling with deciding on a goal looking to hear from other 120-150+ lb loss folks

Hey everyone- I’m down almost 100lbs. I’m about 5’9 ish and currently in a size 16 pants and usually a L shirt. I spent most of my teens and adulthood about this weight so I’m very comfortable here. I’m around 218lbs.

However I’m dealing with a decent amount of loose skin and now I’m second guessing continuing on this journey much past 199.

Originally when I reached over 300lbs my goal of 165 seemed awesome and like something I wanted. Now? I am not feeling the same way. The loose skin at 165 will be much worse and I’m not sure worth it. I will not be able to pay for multiple surgeries to correct my skin and body beyond maybe selecting one that bothers me the most.

Can you guys talk about your experiences? I can’t imagine the loose skin at -150lbs total being something I can tolerate but I’m not sure.

I’ve been in with my EMDR therapist for about 9 months.

I had a list of memories to get through and I’m almost done finally! I’m exhausted from all of it.

However, I still struggle pretty bad with health anxiety though we have “finished” a couple of memories surrounding health and anxiety and related things.

I am having trouble exercising again now because of a fear I have surrounding an irregular heartbeat. I spend many hours of every day thinking I’m about to keel over. A real waste of time!

I go through phases and for a while I was feeling pretty good but recently had a trigger and now I’m back to being anxious about it again.

Feeling stuck! The therapist is sticking to the list and wants to try neurofeedback next to tackle anxiety. Does that seem like a good idea to you guys? I don’t know what else to do as I have refused to take any medication so far.

I’d love any suggestions or thoughts you may have. Thank you.
