Just bought a used 2015 Altima 2.5 126k km driven and found out the CVT fluid has never been changed since day one. Car runs great, ran a scan and everything's normal, no codes.

Went to the Nissan dealer and they told me the fluid is "lifetime, don't bother changing it." But everywhere online people say that's exactly how these CVTs die.

Then to mess with my head even more, I met a guy with a 300k km Altima who never changed his fluid and swears it still runs like new.

So now I genuinely don't know what to do.

For anyone who's owned one of these:

Did changing the fluid on a high-km Nissan help or hurt?

Is it true you shouldn't touch old fluid if it's never been done?

Anyone actually followed the "lifetime" advice and regretted it (or didn't)?
