What made you guys think twice before relapsing?

I was thinking the other day about when i was deep in my ED, one day i seriously think i felt my stomach like eating itself. I don’t know if that makes sense or not but it was the one of the most painful things I’ve ever felt. Not only does that make me think twice but also the shitting once every week or two for a couple hours😬😬😬 what about you guys?

How do I let go of wanting to be skinny?

I’ve been in recovery since May but truly my recovery started July. I’ve been honouring my cravings and have been having sweets and chocolate everyday. I know my body is not the same as how it was and I thought I was doing well until today I saw this girl well from behind and oh my god she was so slim and her body was on display since she was in this backless top and feelings that I haven’t had in a while came back about comparing myself and how I’m not like that anymore and how good it must feel for her to be like that :/ I’ve seen so many skinny people but I genuinely got envious today and am questioning everything even after that I had a whole big chocolate bar. Does anyone have any advice on how they overcame this? I do speak with my therapist but lowkey it feels useless and I feel like he says things I already know.

Does anyone else associate a place with their ED and struggle to go back?

Okay so I want to know if I’m not the only one that feels this way. A couple months ago I relapsed really badly with my ED and genuinely it was traumatising both mentally and physically. I stayed with my dad during the week since it was easier since I worked for him but he’s very busy so it would always be me at home alone where my ED was taking full advantage of it. Fast forward now I’m in recovery and I haven’t gone to my dad’s house at all since then. I see him everyday thankfully but I haven’t step foot in this house since all I think about when I think of that house is my ED and how much I suffered from it. I feel bad at times that I haven’t been there in a long time but I seriously don’t even know how I can go back there :/ Has anyone ever experienced something like this before? I really don’t want to tell my dad this and make him upset.

I don't think I'm fully in recovery

Okay so I've started eating for about 2 months now. I try not to count calories in my brain or read any but I think I've been eating more that 2000-2500. The only issue is, is that I still dont eat food with oil, unless I eat out at times and I don't eat food with butter and sometimes I try making excuse on why I shouldn't have that sweet or chocolate. My mum is a major health freak (ever since I was a kid) and she makes super healthy meals and always thought that me in my ED was just me really working on myself and eating really well (she'd praise me a lot for it) but I hid not eating really well. The most she's ever said was her concerns of my weight only like twice and that's it. I don't know if her being obsessed with being skinny and her eating and workout habits were one cause for my eating and body problems that started years ago. Anyways she continuously cooks healthy meals and I find it so hard to get out of not only eating healthy foods especially when she ALWAYS talks about being healthy. I know eating healthy isn't bad but for me as someone trying to recover that shouldn't be my main goal. I don't know how to suck it up and eat these foods with these ingredients that terrify me :/

Friends get angry at me for not drinking

This is more of a rant but like seriously I’ll never understand why some people get offended and annoyed when I say I don’t drink or refuse to drink with them. I’ve had friends look at me weirdly and say I’m going to regret not drinking and clubbing when I’m older. I continuously tell them I’m not but it’s like they can’t understand no matter how many times I tell them. I having nothing against people drinking AT ALL but it’s just something I don’t like to do personally. I remember my friend even told me that she spoke to her mum about it and apparently her mum agreed saying i will regret it🤦🏼‍♀️. I just don’t understand why people get so weirded out and shocked when someone prefers not to drink and also club.

Alsooooo this one time a month ago I was out with my friend and the guy she was seeing, we decided to go to the pub and I ordered lemonade and they got beer. She then proceeds to say “oh you need to try it” and I continuously was saying no and she knows I don’t drink. And she would not let it go at all. It was a good 5 mins of her trying to get me to drink it.

Will I ever feel comfortable in my own body again?

This is just a rant mainly😭. I’m 2 months into recovery and noticing the changes in my body and I feel so uncomfortable. Like I’m not meant to be this current size and weight and it’s so frustrating. It’s like I’m not even in my body. I feel big. Since I could remember I always had a childlike body especially when I went through my eating disorder. I’ve never really got to a point where I had belly fat or allowed myself to grow into my woman body and now everything is really hitting me. At the beginning of recovery I was fine because it was early on and I never saw any major changes but now it’s all just hitting me. Not only am I getting frustrated by my extreme hunger but also imagining how family (I’ll be seeing them soon) will be making comments 100% on my weight. Anyone else going through this or have gone through this and have any advice?

Hair shedding/loss

I’ve been in recovery for a couple weeks now and I’m seeing more and more hair loss inside and outside the shower. More than before when I was not eating. Is this normal in recovery? It’s stressing me out.
