Hi all, hoping someone can share their experience with this.

I departed Canada on December 29, 2024, and my originally filed T1 return for 2024 did not include my departure date. I mailed a T1 Adjustment Request (T1-ADJ) to correct this on May 15, 2026, sent from my home country (India).

I have not received any update or any response from CRA. How to know if they have received the T1 adjustment form + other documents that I have sent from my home country?

* **Double taxation:** Since Canada also taxes non-residents on certain income (and there's a deemed disposition angle on departure), how does the Canada-India tax treaty actually work in practice to avoid paying tax twice on the same gains?
* **Timing/reporting period:** Given I moved on Dec 2024, how should FY2024-25 disclosures line up with what gets reported for the FY 2025-26 year, especially if any deemed disposition gets reported late on the Canadian side?

Hi Guys,
I was an international student and I moved back to my home country in December 2024.
I filed my 2024 ITR where I forgot to mention the month and Day of Departure. Now when I am trying to make changes in CRA, I can't see any option to make such changes there.

I would request to kindly let me know how to make the change?
