Desperate for help 😭 Why do my nails keep doing this?!

Hey guys, I really need some help!!

I've been getting my nails done for a while. I used to get gel a few years ago, then stopped for quite some time. Over the past year I've started getting them done regularly again, but nothing seems to last.

Every set starts lifting and eventually just falls off after about 10 days. It doesn't even crack or chip, the whole thing just pops off in one piece. I've been to multiple salons and several different nail techs, including some really highly recommended ones, so I don't think it's just the application.

So far I've tried:

  • BIAB
  • Polygel
  • Gel overlay
  • Fibre/plant base (not sure of the exact name.

Nothing has made a difference.

The weird thing is my natural nails have become so weak and sensitive that they feel strange to touch, and I ended up cutting them really short. I also have to keep them clean and sometimes polished due to my profession.

I used to take Perfectil and my nails were completely fine back then, but now it feels like nothing works.

Has anyone had this happen before or know what could be causing it? Is it something to do with my nails, a vitamin deficiency, or anything else? I'd really appreciate any tips because I'm honestly tired of paying to get them redone every 10 days. Thanks so much!

Hi everyone, I could really use some advice on a rental situation.

I signed a tenancy contract with my landlord starting 1st January 2026 until 2027. Previously, we had always done the contract through an agent, and under those agreements I was able to vacate by giving 2 months’ notice.

This time, the landlord handled the contract directly. I was under the impression that the terms were the same as before, including the ability to leave with 2 months’ notice. However, the contract apparently includes a clause stating that early termination is only allowed in “exceptional and unforeseen circumstances.”

Last Friday, I messaged her asking to give 2 months’ notice to vacate. After that, she sent me an angry voice note saying this is unfair, that I cannot leave, and that she may involve a lawyer.

Another issue is that when signing, I only received a physical (green) copy of the contract. She mentioned there’s a “new process” and a new version of the contract, but I haven’t received or signed anything else yet — so I don’t even have a proper PDF copy to review.

For context, my situation has changed recently — I’ve had a pay cut and also changed jobs about a month ago, which has made commuting much more difficult and expensive.

I’ve contacted Sharjah Municipality and they told me to reach out to Tasheel. My first step is to get a proper copy of the contract and review it carefully.

My questions:

  • Would my situation (pay cut + job/location change) count as “exceptional circumstances”?
  • Does it matter legally that I don’t have a full signed copy/PDF of the contract?
  • Can the landlord actually stop me from leaving if I give notice?
  • What should I do next?

Any advice would really help — thank you!
