Sold my partybox 120 and got the 720 cause i felt the need for something stronger.

Little did i know i will just instantly fall in love with how nice this speaker looks in my room at night.

I just listen to music at 10-15% at night to enjoy the light show xdd

For a month or so i was thinking to upgrade the already verry good soundcore boom 2 plus to the boombox 4.

So everyone that has both i wanna know.

Does the battery last at least as the soundcore?
Does it have more power in sound in general?
Does it have more bass (deep and punchy one).
Is the sound quality at least the same? ( the boom 2 sounds super good imo with my eq and it does not distord for shit)

Still a joy to listen to this little mdfk after 2 months since i own it and dosent stop to surprise me even today.

Got it for $40 in a place in my city where people sell their old stuff idk whats the term of it tbh.

Look quite decent to my eyes a solid 7.5/10
CUCHC04 60GB model fully working with no problems and unopened.

What you think is really worth nowdays cause i dont think imma keep it since im a pc guy.

This is the best one i was able to make.
For my ears this sounds miles better then the signature mode to a point the stock eq sounds like the speaker is broken.

I also wanna check your eqs for the charge 6 so if you wanna share it feel free to leave a comm and ill try them cause i wanna see if the speaker can become even better.

Cant find it at all and the guy from the video never reveals the songs he puts in.

Hi everyone! I was able to make this collection after manny speakers i owned in the past 7 months and this is my final result.

I wanted something to please me in every way possible i please to listed to music for most of genres and there we are and i want your opinion as well and what would you add over.

Starting from the smallest to biggest:

The JBL Charge 6 is super nice and packs a lot for this size, good sound with the right eq planty of bass and easy to take with me on the go or listen indoors i just love it and cant find anything better for this size as a all around package.

The Harman/Kardon onyx studio 3 is the most pleasent for listening indoor for its super clear and warm mids, crisp highs but not the best bass in terms of loudness, but is still the closest to a "hi-fi speaker i have and is the most balanced one.

The Soundcore Boom 2 plus is just a beast in terms of bang for buck. Again with the right eq sounds super clear and nice with tons of bass for a boombox style speaker and got it for $100-$110 i belive. I use it for bbqs with friends and is enough for 6-8 people outside, just love the all around package here as well.

The JBL partybox 120 is for when i really want some boom and loudness when im at home or in my garden. Super portable still for a speaker this form factor, yet super lound clear and enjoyable to listen to. Great lights, beautiful speaker and i can pair it with my charge for a much bigger sound stage.

And last The Sony ULT tower 9 is imo the best big bluetooth speaker in its category and price range.
Nice bright sound, decent lights not like JBL but still, and tons but tons of bass where my house is shakeing from my bedroom all the way to the kitchen. The dsp is kinda agressive on lower volumes and bass takes over the songs even in stock mode without ult mode active but with the in app eq you can calm it down a bit and enjoy what this speaker can achive.

Finally decided to pull the triger and upgrade... and jesus... how can this kind of sound come from this little thing.

First thing that surprised me the most was the loudness and for this size to sound this loud feels unreal at least for me.
Bass is suuper nice and clear and again far better when you look at the size.

And compared to my old charge 3 i said in an earlier post i wanted to make my 3 sound like a radio in order to worth the upgrade and it fking does. When i heard the 6 i didnt belive 3 was made by jbl as well 😅.

I played for a while with the 120 and i tried to make an eq to sound good on most of music types i listen to.
Pop, rock, house, afro house, hip-hop, rap.

All i wanted is to not sound boosted as jbl usually souds and as clear as this speaker can go without loseing "fullness" if thats even a word sry english not my first languace.

So this was the cleanest one i could make.

Nice highs not too bright not too hallow
Mids boosted a bit cause in a song i feel like the voice should allways be the main thing u hear first
And bass turned down cause its too boosted for my ears and distorted on most of the songs.

Also something i wanted to repair was the indoor echo you get for placeing the speaker in a corner or room gain call it how you want cause then the bass does not sound clean and tight but boosted again and too loose.

Ik a lot of eqs were made over the time to this speaker but mabye someone here is gonna hear this and like it even tho with a basic 5 band eq you cant do much.

I still think the charge 3 design holds up even in 2026 but the passive radiators looked super outdated so i decided to make them more minimalist and blend in with the whole speaker so i used some carbon fiber stickers.

What do you think? I also want to fully spray paint the logo black but is a project for other time and make it a full black charge 3 version.

I bought this charge 3 for $20 and was in such a bad shape so i had to take it apart and clean piece by piece but turned out super clean and like brand new.
Bought a brand new battery as well for $10 and would you look at that. A "brand new" charge for just $30 i dont think is bad at all.
And the sound is still super good for its size and even for the 2026 standards imo.
So would you rather spend ~$30 for a used charge and recondition it or ~$150-200 for a brand new one cause for me is clear as day that cheaper is better in this case.
