Favorite rest day hip-opener?

Looking for yoga or stretching. I really need something that will open my hips and my lower back and stretch my quads. Got any favorites for the bikers that need a release?

Gotta say, I haven’t loved Denis’s pairings. I’m always desperate for a pigeon and he has me in cat/cow for ages.

EDIT: Thank you all! I did a Denis and a Kristin yesterday and it helped tremendously! Today I’m going to do a Selena + Logan and I’m going to get in more foam rolling. Someone mentioned consistency and I need to be better with that, so thank you for sll the great suggestions’

I don’t understand how to shop small farms/farmers markets. Help?

I’m originally from an area where our farmers markets were basically just craft fairs. I know that by not understanding the produce portion when I’m living in LA is a big miss. I’m striking out. Please help!

I was told “some farms are good, but some are just fake” with the explanation that “fake” meant larger farms or that they use toxic pesticides and that just being at the market doesn’t really guarantee a “great small farm.”

How can I learn to be a smart consumer (specifically regarding produce) at a farmers market?

For context, I live in NELA, so I’d probably frequent Atwater, Montrose, La Canada, maybe Hollywood.

I’ll take any tips, tricks, farms you recommend.

And, on that note: When the fruit stand guy has huge bags of oranges — is that a score I should take more seriously? They are so neatly bagged in long clear plastic bags that it feels like a supermarket sale.

How do you deal with the incessant talking? + AuDHD

It feels like a mania, to be honest. My kid will take me scene by scene of a TV show, movie, SNL skit, a video game, a TV COMMERCIAL! A serious retelling of scenes. He will talk like this for a 40-minute drive. He just doesn’t stop taking and it’s NOT a conversation. He’s 11 and has to be turning people off with this. It’s so annoying.

I feel like saying something will break his heart or alienate him — Van Gogh famously professed adoration for his mom because she always made him feel like an interesting person who brought value to a conversation. So how do I become the one who tells him he’s annoying? How do I help him without hurting him?

Favorite bigger lockbox?

I’ve found a few lockboxes in here for phones, but I’d like one that fits an iPad, small laptop and Switch. I’d love one that has a time AND maybe a key so I can bypass for an emergency.

And recs?

First time viewing vs second time.

I have so many friends who won’t watch because the show is “horror.” My first time watching this was all tension. Preparing for the jump scares. Second time was total laughter!

I got a theory! Let’s discuss. Spoilers.

I >!have a feeling Lauren’s letters are going to prove far more lucid than they initially seemed. “The keys” are metaphorical — they could refer to Evan himself: His bloodline makes him the key to unlocking the island’s secrets. And the scorpion in Lauren’s brain may be something poisonous the curse planted there — a truth, vision or command with a dangerous sting for anyone who tries to pull it out.!<

>!I think whatever is in the basement will add to the clues.!<

>!How ironic if it’s the opposite of what Richard thought — not that all Warrens must die, but that only a surviving Warren is powerful enough to end the curse. The entity CAN’T kill a Warren itself. It can weaken them, they can drown… they can be given the wrong meds in a hospital, but it can’t kill them. But Warrens can end the curse.!<

>!Maybe when Lauren went blind she was able to “see.”!<

>!I’m also curious if we’ll see more of Sarah. The wedding vows locked her into the pact, but the marriage was never consummated, so she wasn’t locked int!<o it.

Curious to hear your thoughts on this!

Tom’s dad?

I can’t remember… Tom’s dad is a native? But Tom was born on the mainland? I think this was all addressed but I can’t remember.

Or did Tom’s dad move to WB to wallow in misery and alcoholism?

Does anyone recall? Not looking for theories but stuff that was said.

Just want to talk this stuff out! (possible spoilers)

Patricia + Boogyman: >!Why didn’t the Boogyman kill Patrica the first time? I feel like that’s going to be a reveal. I thought it was because she was a secret Warren, but doesn’t look like it.!<

Ruth (ep 9): >!And, as for other secret Warrens. I don’t think the big reveal will be that it’s Evan, but I think there will be doubt. I think Ruth is far more on the ball than we were lead to believe I think the birthday cakes were some sort of witchy shit. And I think she’s going to let Loftis know there’s another but won’t say whom. She’ll probably kill herself to keep the secret.!<

>!And and uncontested mayor (the locals know that job will suck) and she just HAPPENS to be the assistant? Her job has been to manage the mayor (the leader) in some capacity.!<

How can I pivot to non-profit?

I’m a managing editor of content strategy and operations at a major media company. A HUGE part of my job is making Amazon money. I want out.

How can I transfer my work experience to the non-profit sector? I manage and mentor writers, write, edit. Manage cameras, strategically plan content, work with numerous outside partners to manage context.

Right now I make $200,000. I have no expectations to make that much, but I’d probably need to make $130,000 to raise my child. Is that even doable without being at a director level? I wouldn’t mind being at a director level, of course, but I imagine that’s not going to happen.

I do have non-profit experience, but it’s 15 years old.

Eagle Rock Plaza should be an entertainment hub.

I go to the plaza weekly and it always frustrates me. What they do have is great. But I really do question the real estate agents there. Feels like it could be a gold mine and a great place for dates, kids, teens — a much-needed 3rd space. The vision I have?

A duckpin bowling alley (or candlepin for a fun, out-of-the-ordinary draw — it's a blast). Great for families and date nights.
A laser tag center. That place would crush with birthday rentals and group outings.
A kid's play space. There used to be one on York Blvd that did well pre-COVID. The neighborhood has tons of young families who need exactly this.
An escape room complex. These things are so fun.
An arcade bar. Think barcade vibes — not sure about a drink license though… but there’s an idea there possibly.

Other ideas:
-Mini golf (especially if it's blacklight/glow themed — there’s one in Irvine I went to a decade ago)
-Axe throwing? I don’t know… it’s a thing!
-VR gaming lounge would be so fun.
-Sip & paint… do people still do this? Or a paint your own ceramics thing…

Would LOVE a movie screening room. A full movie theater would be incredible, but not sure there’s space.

Maybe an ice cream shop? Candy store!!! Stuff that wouldn’t be at a disadvantage with Seafood City’s smell. I love Seafood City and don’t want to see it go, but it doesn’t inspire boutique shopping. Honestly, I’d rather have a place that pulls people out of the house for fun anyway.

Any idea if stuff like this has been proposed and hasn’t gone through? Any idea if anyone has thought of this? In the event that no one has thought of this, is there a way to bring this up and maybe campaign for it? Eagle Rock is family-friendly AND a college town. Two demographics that would love this stuff.

I think I don’t understand how to apply Tret

Use a “pea-sized amount.” Thats not enough for my neck and chest, too. Just enough for my face, really. If I do neck + chest should I use more?

Also, waiting until my skin is completely dry makes it so I have no slip to my skin. I’ve hear of the sandwich method but worry about the efficacy of the Tret. I’m at .05 right now.

Can you all explain how you get the pea sized amount to cover everything?

Finally… do I need to bother with the bridge of my nose?

I feel like I looked young a year ago. Everything has gone off the rails. I can’t afford a face lift. I’m at a loss. My skin is lax. I have sun spots. My skin is dry.

I’m investigating BBL to address some deep sun damage on my cheeks. Right now I’m only finding Beverly Hills providers. Cost is a consideration for me, but not at the expense of aptitude. I have, in the past, been alerted to excellent locations for different procedure that offer good specials and packages (I plan to also get Sofwave), so hoping this community has good intel. Thank you.
