Remaking Bespoke ring help Uk

Remaking Bespoke ring help Uk

Having already had my bespoke ring, but due to a multitude of issues with the jewellers I've now got a refund and looking for advice on next steps.

I absolutely love the design (hence going down bespoke route initially as I couldn't find a ring like it).

Is there anything you would change about the design to make it anymore secure?

I'm thinking I should increase the width slightly, so 2.2 instead of 2.0 and 2.0 instead of 1.8 as per CAD.

Or instead of bespoke route, is there anywhere that has same style of ring I can order with custom spec of centre stone? I haven't been able to find any rings with the twist compass set and a hidden halo.

I'm in the UK so only interested in ordering from UK companies.

Thanks

What spec should I ask for a round cut for maximum sparkle?

I am looking for a 2.15-2.20 ct round diamond, I would like to pick a diamond that has maximum sparkle.

I will get a choice of a few, but want to confirm if I asked for the below proportions if this would be a good spec of diamond (on paper)?

Cut: ideal hearts and arrows

Table: 54-57%

Depth: 59-62.5%

Crown angle: 34-35

Pavilion angle: 40.6-41

I know one angle depends on the other whether it will be good or not, but as I will get a choice I just wondered if this gives a good indication to the jeweller.

Hearts and arrows query

Long story short, I have a loan ring which I thought was super sparkly and looked very nice, so checked the inscription/IGI report to see the spec.

Turns out it's noted as a hearts and arrows diamond, which I've seen videos of (on here) but never seen in real life and wow its stunning!

I may be in a position to choose another ring/diamond for myself as a bit of dispute, and after a bit more research I came across this website Hearts & Arrows which gives a table of the spec of the crown and pavilion angle and whether it fits into this category.

Question is, the loan ring diamond crown and pavilion angle don't appear to fit into the table that identifies it as a hearts and arrow - so does that mean the report is misleading?
Or is the table mentioned stricter than the IGI deem H&A diamond to be?

If that is the case, if I do get to choose another diamond/ring how can I choose a H&A for myself?

Any help on this would be much appreciated!

Not sure I'll get the option to purchase a new ering ring, as I'm currently in dispute with existing jewellers (see post history for details)

This is fairly similar to my current ring, but how secure does this setting look?

It would be with a 2/2.2 carat round diamond.

Just want to know if this would be a safe option if I got a refund on my existing bespoke ring.

I will preface this with I am UK based and the ring in question was made by a high street UK jewellers.

I will keep this concise and the facts only, no need to discuss issues with miscommunications etc as can't change that now.

It's a bespoke design, I basically merged 3 of their standard designs into one.

Due to internal miscommunications my change during the design process was missed, and the original ring I got had the wrong size diamond set (1.5 instead of 2).

I took it back, they admitted the mistake and agreed to rectify. Instead of being remade, the original setting claws were opened and the bigger diamond set. Fine. Not ideal, but under warranty so accepted as assured it was perfectly secure/correct.

It was also resized down 1 size as I had lost a bit of weight since initially ordering and was too loose.

Got home, to find quite a number of scratches on the claws and one of the diamonds on the shoulders had sunken in.

Went back, again, they agreed immediately this wasn't acceptable and would get it sorted, which they did. This was finally resolved in Oct - initial ring (wrong size diamond) was given in August.

However, about a month ago, I had been using my loupe to confirm diamond inscription, and noticed what appeared to be burnt metal underneath the diamond. I did post on here - lots said it's possibly polish that needs professionally cleaned.

It's back in the jewellers now and has been for almost 2 weeks, was sent to their head jeweller as it was cleaned in store and not resolved. I've no updates yet (have been chasing).

However, on reflection, what are my right in terms of either requesting a full refund and going elsewhere (due to the number of issues I've had with them), or insisting that a whole new setting is made from scratch. Am I even entitled to request either or just have to accept whatever solution they offer after they inspect it?

It has a hidden halo, and it's also bothered me since they put the bigger diamond in that it doesn't sit right as it seems too low, however not sure I can throw that at them now as I'm not sure it's an actual fault.

Any ideas on what I can do? I get married in August and got engaged almost a year ago, it feels the ring saga is forever ongoing and I'm sick of it.

Between the face up difference of these 2 diamonds how likely is it to notice the difference by eye?

A 6% difference in face up area, is that really noticeable? The picture with the circles on top of each other looks so minimal I'm not sure it would, however I have read .2mm of a difference is noticeable.

Another question, if not 6%, at what % of a difference would be noticeable?

I am trying to view an IGI certificate for a loan ring I have just out of curiosity as it seems like quite a nice diamond, very sparkly!

I finally managed to read the inscription with some difficulty using a 40x loupe so wondering I have missed a digit as it's so tiny it takes me absolutely ages to try and see it.

Number I have is LG92574278 but when I go onto IGI to verify the report it just continually circles but never loads. I would have thought if it was an incorrect number I would just get an error saying it doesn't exist.

Any ideas? Or any tips on reading the number again as I've tried a number of times with 40x and its a real struggle!

I'm 38, have a decent skincare routine, drink plenty water etc yet I can't seem to get any foundation to sit nicely on my skin anymore.

It either seems to appear dry and cakey when I add any type of setting powder, but without that it's too shiny and almost sticky like it never sinks into my skin. It starts to kind of disappear off my nose too.

Also whenever I give anyone a hug it's all over them.

I've tried various primers - Maybelline grip, Charlotte Tilbury, Estée Lauder, grip, and a few others. I also use and have tried various setting sprays - L'Oréal fixing spray, Charlotte Tilbury, Maybelline and others.

I currently use Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless foundation and the matching setting powder.

Also have tried using other setting powders with same results (elf, Maybelline etc).

What can I do to improve my base and make it sit better?

Ive included a picture of me now, 4 hours after applying and haven't touched it since.

Very shiny but feels and looks dry and somewhat cakey in places as it hasn't really gone into my skin properly.
