All my life i dreamed of a large asscher cut

My first marriage I obsessed over asscher cut diamonds but they were always out of reach price wise. I chose a .17ct round, upgraded to a .70ct round, got divorced, got remarried with a .7ct emerakld double halo split shank. Always in the back of my mind dreaming of an asscher cut. 6 years later pulled the plug on a 3ct asscher, simple but detailed solitaire setting. My dream ring that always seemed impossible until I discovered lab grown diamonds. Its absolutely beautiful and perfect and what I always wanted!

Feedback on Price

Was interested in having a ring made by a local jeweler, however I feel like after receiving the quote, I think it might be overpriced. I want it set in a regular tulip cathedral setting and for it to be two toned White and Yellow gold. Super simple, no side stones or pave. The stones I was looking at were 2.5 and 3ct which are in the video above. I believe they were both F color and VVS2. They’re asking for $6200 for the 3ct, for everything. Is that overpriced or regular for a stone this size? Appreciate any feedback!

4 ct elongated radiant — opinions on proportions & finger coverage (size reference included)

Specs:

  • 4.02 ct elongated radiant
  • D color
  • SI1 clarity
  • approx 12 × 7.7 mm
  • excellent polish & symmetry

I’m mainly trying to understand:

  • Does this length-to-width ratio look balanced or too elongated?
  • Does this size feel appropriate for everyday wear?
  • How does a ~12 mm long radiant typically look on a size 10 finger?

I don’t have photos/videos yet — I’m currently waiting on the ring — so I’m going off measurements only. My current ring (pear shape) is just for finger size reference.

Would really appreciate honest feedback on overall look and finger coverage expectations.

To anyone who grew out of love with their stone, what did you tell your fiance?

I got engaged 2 years ago with an E color 7 carat pear diamond. It’s the most beautiful sparkly thing I have ever seen. It also cost a pretty penny for my fiance, lab was still high at the time compared to today. Recently I haven’t been feeling comfortable wearing my ring. I’ve been getting a lot of stares, I probably always have but it’s been getting to me recently. I feel that it’s too big. Sometimes it’s a safety concern, not everyone may think it’s a lab. I have been wearing a 3 ct moissanite. I want to down size to a 3 or maybe 4 carat but I don’t know what to tell my fiance without hurting his feelings. Has anyone ever gone through something similar? How did you do it.

Lab diamond studs

Just wanted to share I just purchased my first ever real diamond. I’ve always had CZ ones and they turn cloudy. They are 3 ctw with IGI certificates. Purchased them from ETSY. I was reluctant at first but the reviews of the shop was great. I just feel like it’s too extravagant for everyday wear. Nonetheless, I’m still wearing them to work 😆💕

Why the hate for lab grown diamond engagement rings?

Recently upgraded to a lovely 2 carat lab grown diamond ring. I love it but I recently saw a reel hating on lab diamonds and how big and bulky and fake they look! That they can tell it is a lab grown diamond. Whaaaaat? This is the first time I'm hearing this!

Need advice about diamond setting

I had a platinum setting made from an overseas vendor to set my diamond in and here is how the local jeweler set it. Who is in the wrong here because it doesn’t look right…

Tennis Bracelets Longevity

I have two 14k gold tennis bracelets (3ct weighing at 5g total and 2ct weighing at 4g total).

These tennis bracelets are clearly lightweight, hence not having heavy gold content. I wear them daily and do not take them off. Moderately active.

Realistically, how long will these pieces last if taken care of well with daily wear? Could I realistically expect them to be heirloom pieces? Going forward I will likely buy bracelets that have more gold content but just curious. TYIA!

My first lab diamond

So obsessed and in love with this 6.16 ct Marquise Brilliant cut. Never in my wildest dreams would I think I could have this ring until I started looking into lab grown and got an amazing wholesale price on it from a reputable jeweler who set it.

Do we love going big with lab diamonds?

Ring cleaning

Hey yall! I’ve had my ring since end of August last year (it’s June right now, for documentation purposes). I only wear my ring on special occasions and take great care not to get lotions, sanitiser, dirt etc. on it, and only wear it on special occasions, keeping in line with my lifestyle. A few weeks ago I would look at the ring’s sparkle and wonder why it looked milky/cloudy and was wondering if the jeweller gave me a sub-par stone that I didn’t notice at the time. I would hold the ring against the light and couldn’t see any dirt on the center diamond. I was starting to feel low about this so I thought what the hell, let me give it a clean. I wasn’t expecting anything. I looked for supplies on Amazon and saw the diamond dazzle stick.

YALL. It’s night and day. I don’t have anything more to say. I’m so happy.

Recommended sellers of jewelry with lab-grown diamonds?

My wife wants a simple diamond necklace and is totally on board with value of lab-grown stones.

I’m pretty well versed in the 4C’s when it comes to stone selection. I’m mostly looking for seller recommendations and any other info about what to look out for in the process.

Thanks in advance!!

We bought this marquise!

We’re working with Fiorese to design my engagement and wedding rings!

We landed in this 4.10ct D VS1 brilliant marquise with a 2.10 ratio(which I wanted something longer!)

I can’t stop replaying the videos! This is a compilation both in indoor and natural light, in tweezers and one the hand!

Stone check and question/concern.

This is a 3.5 carat elongated cushion (1.29 ratio). E, VS1. The table is 62%. All of that is good and I think the tweezer video looks decent. (I have been window shopping forever, it seems like ). My potential concern is the depth which is 69.9%. I know that's a deep stone which is not great. But how bad is this depth? IGI shows Medium to Thick (faceted).

New band!

To have more options in the midst of higher gold prices, I wanted to make a silver eternity band. I went with bezel set for security and comfort. I wanted my first full eternity band, but to get bang for my buck, I did half pears and half radiants. So pleased with how it came out. It’s well made, heavy, comfortable, and beautiful! I worked with Annabella at tianyu. The process was great. In the same order I got a semi mount for my mom, she has a diamond to set in it. It als came out beautifully!

Wondering what they are worth?

I won a pair of 2.07 ctw (1 and 1.07) Round Lab Diamond Earrings | E VS1 and VS2 | IGI Certified in a competition a while back, and just wondering what kind of price I can expect to get for them. Help me brains of Reddit!

Lab diamond appraisal question

Recently while on vacation outside of the US, I impulsively bought a lab grown round stone, 1.95 ct I VS1, mounted in white gold with channel set real diamonds.. Went back and forth with the store before I purchased it, that the stone must have an IGI Certificate and they assured me it did and would email it to me. Later, after the certificate never was sent, they admitted they don't even sell stones that are certified by IGI.

Before I dispute it with my credit card company, I took it to an independent AGS appraiser and today got the actual appraisal back. The report references the stone as a round brilliant 'diamond', 2.07 ct stone, F, VVS2, so different than what original purchase paperwork stated. There's no mention of anything related to lab grown diamonds in the appraisal either. Is it normal for a lab grown stone appraisal to not state lab grown?

Note: the stones in the white gold band have a separate section on the appraisal and appraisal details match up with purchase paperwork.
