Homesick for NH and hoping to borrow a little piece of home

I’m looking for a little piece of New Hampshire to be sent my way. I grew up in NH on the seacoast, surrounded by tide pools, sand dunes, woods, birch trees, beaches, rocks, leaves, and all the things I apparently took for granted until I moved out of state and ended up landlocked in a “city.” (I use the word city loosely. )

I’m making my first junk journal, and I’d love to include some actual pieces of home in it—beach stones, a little silver birch bark, pretty/fallen leaves, and maybe a small baggie of NH sand.

I know these are just ordinary things, but when you’re homesick, ordinary things can feel pretty damn special. I miss the woods, the smell of low tide..and everything after rain, well I miss just being there.

So if anyone in NH would be willing to collect a few little treasures and mail them to this homesick former NH girl, I’d be incredibly grateful.

Basically, I’m trying to have New Hampshire mailed to me because apparently teleportation hasn’t been invented yet.

Trade-sies?

As some of you know I'm Making my first junk on a budget of nothing and strangers kindness, and honestly… I’m still on the fence about how I feel about it.

So I’m looking for scraps, old papers, weird little bits, stickers, ephemera—basically anything with a little character and a questionable past.

Help me turn my chaos into something pretty. DM me for address! And thank you in advance

P.s I'm open to trading for a 3 card tarot reading if anyone is interested in tradesies!

My first junk journal (and Im hating it)

I tried making my first junk journal out of literally anything I could find that felt cool or vaguely “this is so me,” but right now it’s less aesthetic masterpiece and more chaotic craft explosion.I went on a no-budget mission and gathered scraps, old paper, stickers, random receipts—anything with even a hint of “past life energy.” I was aiming for that Dark yet dreamy  magic vibe, but it kind of turned into cluttered chaos with a side of confusion. There’s glue everywhere, the pages are doing their own thing (none of them are straight), and the whole thing just doesn’t feel cohesive at all. Now I’m stuck between “should I fix it?” and “should I just quietly pretend this never happened and start over?”

If anyone has beginner-friendly tips, please save me 😭Or maybe I just accept that this journal has its own weird little personality and move on with my life.

Apparently, I Live Here Now The hospital stay that just keeps on staying.

Apparently, I Live Here Now

So… endocarditis decided to ruin my plans and turn the hospital into my temporary address. 😅 I’m hanging in there, but this stay has officially entered the “okay, I would really like to go home now” phase.

I put together an Amazon wishlist with a few little things to make being stuck here a bit more comfortable and keep my spirits up. Absolutely no pressure whatsoever—just being thought of, sending a laugh, or even a “hang in there” means more than you know. ❤️

Apparently, if I have to live here for a while, I might as well try to make my hospital room slightly less depressing. 😂

[Thank you]

Huge thank you to u/TigerLady13 for the awesomely weird card 😂❤️ and the joke that genuinely had me laughing. You definitely nailed my sense of humor.

It’s the kind of weird, thoughtful surprise that makes RAoC so much fun. Thanks for making me smile—you’re pretty cool. 😎

[Thank You] u/armyofdarkness

Thank you so much to u/armyofdarkness for the beautiful card! ❤️ I absolutely love the flower picture—it’s so pretty and definitely made me smile. And I have to admit, seeing your username gave me an extra little laugh because I love the movie Army of Darkness. 😂

Not sure if the username means you’re a fan too, but either way… beautiful card + one of my favorite movies = a pretty solid win-win. Thank you again! 🌸❤️

I wasn't sure how I'd feed my family tonight until Lasagna Love texted me.

A huge thank you to Sarah from Lasagna Love for the incredible meal you made for my family. ❤️

Earlier today, I honestly wasn't sure how I was going to put dinner on the table for my family. Then I got your text, and everything changed.

Not only did you show up with a homemade meal, but it was hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. You gave us so much more than dinner—you gave us relief, comfort, and a reminder that kindness still exists.

Thank you for opening your heart and taking the time to help complete strangers. Your generosity meant more than you'll ever know, and my family will never forget it.

The world is a better place because of people like you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️

BRrrr

Anyone know how to fix terrible airflow in a second-floor apartment? I'm hoping someone has some ideas because the airflow in my second-floor apartment is the weirdest I've ever experienced. My bedroom and bathroom are freezing cold, while the living room and kitchen are noticeably warmer. It feels like the air just isn't circulating properly from one room to another. I've tried adjusting the vents, but it hasn't made much difference. I'm renting, so I can't do anything major to the HVAC system. Has anyone dealt with this? Did an air circulator, box fan, vent deflectors, or something else actually help? I'd love budget-friendly suggestions or any tricks you've found that improved airflow.

I'm tired of feeling like I have to pack for two different climates just to walk from my bedroom to the living room. 😂

Thanks in advance!

Free Haircuts in Springfield? Funny. I’m one sweaty afternoon away from giving myself a haircut with kitchen scissors because this heat has officially made me lose my mind.

Anyone Need a Haircut Model? ✂️🥵

I know this is probably a long shot, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.

I’m looking for a free haircut if any cosmetology students or hairstylists need someone to practice on. This Missouri heat has been brutal, and I have very long, ridiculously thick hair that’s starting to feel more like a winter blanket than hair. 😂 I  just went back to work, and money is super tight right now, so paying for a haircut just isn’t really an option.

I don’t drive and never have because of my bad vision, so I’d need someone nearby, on the bus line, or willing to come to my home. I’m not looking for anything fancy—just a good trim to take some weight off and help me make it through the summer.

I’m reliable, thankful, and happy to work around your schedule if you’re a student needing hours or someone building a portfolio. Thanks for reading, and even if you can’t help, I really appreciate you taking the time. Sometimes the kindness of strangers really does make all the difference. ❤️

[intro]

Hi everyone! 👋 I'm new to RAOA and figured I'd pop in and introduce myself. I'm excited to be here and get to know everyone. I love kind people, a little sarcasm, and spreading positivity wherever I can. A little about me: I'm a caregiver, a mom of three, and I have a pretty good sense of humor. I enjoy crafting, finding cool vintage treasures, spending time with my dogs, and making new friends. I'm also a lover of oddities and all things weird, which is honestly one of my favorite things about myself. Life has had its challenges, but I try to focus on kindness and helping others whenever I can. Looking forward to getting to know you all. Thanks for having me! ❤️

"Attempted to deliver but business was closed"!?!?

first off.. I live in an apartment complex..I am not a buisness with closing hours.. this is day 4 now that I've been waiting for my packages to arrive.. I've called the last 3 days to get absolutely no help what's so ever when I am able to reach a person. this is absolutely unacceptable but what's even worst there's no why to file a former complaint. fedex is useless and I'm surprised no lawsuits have been filed over this

b$!#sh+t.. I just want what I paid for.

UPDATE- well yet again.. 5 packages that are 7 days late now and had shown delivery date for today has now(before 8am) has been marked as "buisness closed could not deliver" AGAIN... I am a residential address.. we have no front desk here.. just apartments!

I've brought this to the BBB'S attention... this is not right
